Out of all the things I wanted to purchase this summer, a roof was not on the list. So the thought of roofing my lake house was a bitch from the start. After receiving a few quotes, a friend introduced us to JE Roofing. The quote was reasonable, the customer service fantastic and their references all checked out. The roof is completed and I am soooo happy we went with JE Roofing! The project was seamless. Their crew was amazing and my roof looks great. There were no surprises and everything went off without a hitch. JE's crew came up from Lansing to roof my Wisconsin house. Its about 90 minutes away so they stayed in the area until the project was fully completed. They worked hard and long and I actually missed them when they left. But I know that I will see them again because I have a leak in my Chicago roof and I wouldn't trust anyone else to fix it. It was 10k plus project, on a steep roof, with multiple peaks and the only thing that got damaged was a motion light. Not bad, I'm actually impressed! JE Roofing is one of the few contractors that I've hired over the years that actually fixed more than they eff'd up! LOL but true. I would not hesitate to work with them again or refer them. IMAGE TIP: Its hard not to write a review and not include an image tip since I am an image consultant, so... JE hit it right down the the shirts they wore. Watching them work in their orange company t-shirts added to their professionalism as a company and as a crew. After using JE for our house re-roofing some years ago I called them again to do some channeling work and soffit repair on our garage roof. Was quoted a price but when the carpenter began working, the owner contacted me and asked for an additional $200 as they had underestimated the length of the repair. After the first hard rain after repairs were done I still had water spilling into the soffit and not the downspout. I called for a check up and John advised he would be out to take a look but texted me at the last minute stating he was "ill" and wouldn't be able to make it. Although the downspout did have some debris blockage and was cleared by Jeff, the soffit problem remains and I now have additional leaks in my garage roof. Won't be using JE again. Just don't trust them anymore. read more

I contacted them about a roof repair, they went out and did the quote. I asked them to do the repair they quoted without negotiating the price at all. I then followed up with them literally over a dozen times over at least a month span and could not get them to actually do the job. The worse part is if you're too busy or just don't want to do the job just say that instead of acting like you'll do it and wasting a bunch of my time. read more

JE was the only contractor that took the time to answer all my question with specifics until I was comfortable in my understanding of my new roof installation project. When it was time to complete the work, I was very impressed and satisfied with the staff, the efficiency in which they went about tear off and installation, my property was protected and cleaned daily, if you didn't look up you would not have known my roof was being replaced. They were on-time and worked like a well oiled machine. I LOVE my new roof the ease of doing business with this company. The stand by their work and operate with the utmost integrity, with great customer service as well. A little over a month ago, I contacted them to give me an estimate on a small roof repair. It was right after we'd had what could only be described as torrential rain and so, I understood they wouldn't be able to get right out to me. My roof issue was really only small in comparison to the damage many homeowners experienced as a result of said storm. When I did get a chance to speak with someone from J & E (John), he left me feeling like I could have possibly found a roofer for my project. But, of course, I still had a couple other companies to check out before making my decision. After receiving a few other quotes, I decided that although J & E were not the cheapest, they were the company I wanted to go with. I called John back and, I believe left a voicemail...but he never responded. I then decided to send him a text message, as I'd done the first day I spoke with him to send him photos of the interior damage to my home...again, no response. A few weeks passed by. During this time, I did receive a voicemail from the owner, I think, where he apologized they were unable to respond to my needs in a timely fashion. And after a little time had passed due to personal issues, I decided to go ahead and give the office a call and see if I could give them another shot. I'd never dealt with a repair to my home of this magnitude and honestly, felt like they were the best option of my options. I communicated with the very very nice lady in the office that I'd previously spoken with John and that he hadn't gotten back to me in a while. She apologized and assured me he would either call me that evening or first thing Monday. John called me Monday and I missed the call. I called him back maybe 15 minutes later and he answered to be sure he knew which customer I was (he wanted me to jog his memory) and after telling me he knew who I was, informed me he was currently on a customer's roof and that he would call me back. I told him that would be great and I am still waiting for that phone call...that was 3 weeks ago. I think it's safe to say...they obviously don't want my business. I'm not sure why. I kinda feel like an idiot for being more accommodating than the actual business...and I was the one who was going to have to pay! Go figure. I started to give them 2 stars simply for the fact that the lady in the office seemed like she was genuinely sorry that I hadn't been taken care of...but, then I thought back to how accommodating I've already been and how that hasn't gotten me anywhere...so, I opted one star. Furthermore, the description for two stars is, "Meh, I've experienced better..." and that's not entirely true considering...I never REALLY experienced J E Roofing. read more

These f*ckers tried to over charge me for roof repair. I am far from stupid but apparently they thought I was. $8,000 for a small section of roof (area of our food pantry) repair is f*cking ridiculous. That's closer to the cost of a "COMPLETE" roof repair" on a small home. I just bought this home and it needs some work before we move in, roof repair being one of them. The only reason I considered JE Roofing is because I saw them working on a house in the neighborhood (about 3 mo. Ago) and got their card from one of the workers. I set up an appointment and the guy came out and looked at the roof while I was not there. The people I had cleaning let him in. I got there right after he finished (parked behind his truck) he called my cell before I even got out of the car. He was going on and on about how BAD the damage was. He was like """Yeah I just looked at the roof inside & out and Oh nooo this is sooooo .....and there's a lot more than what I expected..... I have to talk to my boss about this and they'll email you the quote tomorrow"" Ok fine. I was expecting, from his overly dramatic reaction, that it would be a higher than normal quote. Ok cool no problem. They took forever to even get the quote over to me, I was taking bids at that time before I decided which company I was going to go with. The day after the contractor came out I hadn't received any word so I called the number back that HE called me from that day . It turned out to be his FRIENDS CELL PHONE (wtf?) I left a message with that guy asking the contractor-guy to call me back about the roofing quote. Three days later, still nothing. In the meantime I had 3 other companies come out and got quotes from them. So, four days after the JE Roofing contractor came out, I gave one last call but to the "company's" office phone line. I spoke to the rep and explained to them that I am STILL waiting on a quote and this is the last time I'll be calling. The guy said the owner just has to sign off on it and I would have the quote emailed to me with the hour....So when they FINALLY emailed the quote (2 hrs later) ...Guess what? Their inflated ass quote was a little over $8,000! The other quotes I got from the other 3 companies (wbtw I found on Angie's List) was under $2000, all reputable companies with great reviews and referrals on Angie's website. I immediately called JE Roofing back & told them that their quote was RIDICULOUS and that I was not interested so there was no need for them to contact me following up on this lead. I don't care what anyone says but that was some SHADY crap! They clearly were trying to take advantage of me. I guess they thought I was some dizzy broad that would gladly pay ANYTHING not having any knowledge about the industry or whatever. Bullsh*.*t ! Found them on Yelp using my cell phone, they had a great review from Ms R Walker and I called to have a repair done on one of my investment properties. They came out the next day gave a quote within budget. I had so many other deals going I totally forgot about the repair needed for this property until a contract to purchase was placed on the property and a home inspector was scheduled. I called them back two weeks after they quoted me and explained my situation with an inspection schedule the next day on a Saturday. The owner informed me they were backed up and this being Friday it would be difficult for them to do the next day and would probably be Monday. This was a rush job for me to pass an inspection and at this point I figured I would fail the inspection and have to redo with another inspection and delay for the buyers funding. To my surprise J. E. called me early the next day and said they would get me in and were at the house. I was an hour drive away and John still did not get frustrate with me, he took pictures of the spot needing repair we again by phone what needed to be done, he match the shingles and informed me not to worry he would get the job done and bill me later! They understand how business works and were very professional even with me being so busy and not being able to meet them at the property and did the work to help me out of a jam.
