They worked hard expecially in the cold weather and were very polite in their demeanor and personalities. Woitek pointed out a defect in one of the windows which had a gouge in the frame of the window probably caused during shipment from the manufacturer to the my home. He took a picture of the gouge and assured me that a new piece would be ordered and replaced as soon as it comes in. They finished installing the trim and caulk and cleaned up nicely after they were done. This was a fine experience and I was in trusted hands with Evergreen!

He explained the pros and cons and made sure I was making a choice that fit my home and budget. The other two companies I met with didn't do that--one (a well-known company from Orland Park) just took quick measurements and gave me a verbal quote for one brand, and the other simply emailed me a price afterward. Alvano even brought a small demo window to show how everything works. That level of effort and attention made a big difference. 2. The Results: I wanted to wait until I'd gone through both summer and winter before posting this review. I can honestly say the windows have performed great--much better than what I had before. My utility bills have gone down, and I'm really satisfied with the quality and comfort they provide. 3. The Price: Evergreen wasn't the cheapest or the most expensive--right in the middle. But I wasn't chasing the lowest bid; I wanted solid windows at a fair price, and that's exactly what I got. Final Thoughts: Big shout-out to Alvano. I was really mad about the vinyl windows because the former owner had installed them pretty new, but they literally were about to fall out of the wall. We had to lock them to keep them in place. The previous owner had the original windows replaced, but the installer of the vinyl windows did not insulate around the frame and cold air kept leaking in. The wood windows would rattle on a windy day. I found out about Chicago Window & Door Solutions through a recommendation from another contractor who was repairing my original wood windows - he said he wouldn't work with anyone else - so that tells you something! Sue & Greg came out to meet with us, took measurements and talked about our options. They install Marvin windows. Know that they aren't the cheapest option. For that you can go anywhere, but know in about 8 years, you're going to be replacing them. But I found that they listened to what we were looking for - which for me was energy efficiency as a top priority. I liked that there was the chance to get a wooden interior on the windows. It allowed us to match the stain on sill and border opening - so now these windows look like they belong and do not look like replacements. We opted to stain the windows ourselves and they gave suggestions of how to do it. More importantly, they came out twice (next day!) when we had questions/concerns. Justin came to do the install and he removed and installed six windows and fixed a sill in a day and a half - plus he cleaned up after himself! If you've ever had workmen come into your house, you know what a mess they can leave. I am really happy with the new windows. They are beautiful, they are much more energy efficient than what I had and really block out the noise. I live on a two-way street in Chicago & they have made the house much quieter than the windows I had before.

They came with a lifetime warranty. They now have sustained condensation damage. George Uhlmann (the owner) now wants me to pay an additional $700.00 for replacement glass and labor. He is working out of his home at 1424 Heather Hill Crescent, Flossmoor, IL 60422. He has no overhead! Doesn't return phone calls when he says he'll call you back. The storefront at 11636 S. Pulaski, Alsip, IL 60803 is just for storage. Suppliers for windows, doors, gutters requested he have a storefront for deliveries because they would not deliver to his home. Check the place out...it's very small and he is NEVER there!!! Get your windows elsewhere!!! There are MANY other options. George Uhlmann is a scam!!!
