Now in my forties, yes, its ok to say... My forties... have brought many changes, from opening my own art consultation business, publishing my own fine art magazine to grandiose family adventures. Well, this was the year that I decided to try Hamilton & Co, owned by Boerne-ite, Ben Schooley. I was previously told of the exceptional customer service, the complimentary beverage service, the décor and much more. In planning for this new 'experience' I took some prep time and grew out my hair past the point of social professional acceptation. I went in about 20 minutes early for my appointment on Blanco Rd. in Boerne and wanted to check out what I was getting myself into. I was happily greeted by the front receptionist and asked about that adult beverage I would like to sample. I opted for the whiskey on the rocks. I sat down on a very comfortable couch in front of a nice large screen T.V. playing the local sports channel. On the table adjacent to me was a wide array of magazines to flip through while I sipped my drink. Yes, issues of Cordillera Ranch, Explore, and Dominion magazines immersed me in the hill country culture of the SMV publishing efforts. With no delay and right on the time of my schedule appointment, my stylist, Morgan called me back to the chair for a quick consultation. In the transition from the reception area with the periodicals and big screen, I was able to squeeze in "Can I have another drink", which was promptly delivered when I arrived at the 'chair'. Morgan was attentive to what I was trying to accomplish with a simple 'clean-up' approach. Yes, the wisps, broken ends, fluffy-ness and overall maintenance was evident. Morgan explained the top tier professionalism of Hamilton & Co.'s culture as she tilted the chair, placed a warm towel smelling of sweet essential oils on my face and began the journey I had been avoiding for almost 30 years. After the gentle shampooing and relaxing scalp massage, I was up-righted and we launched into small talk as Morgan began to cut. We discussed the shop, the guiding principles of the business and other things that were unique to Hamilton & Co. With her explaining every step, from warm towels and shampooing to massage, cut and straight razor finishes, I was confident in her abilities and set at ease with trusting someone else to take the scissor reins for a change. I left knowing I would be back. Overall, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Hamilton & Co. I would definitely recommend it to my own clients and colleagues. She must've washed her hands and arms up to her elbows three or four times each time I was there. All of her equipment is protected too. I got maybe 5-8 minutes of numbing so the rest was pretty painful. It could've just been me/my brows not reacting well to it. Everything else was excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to go back to her again. She did a fantastic job!

This was my first time getting any permanent brow work done, so I was nervous walking in. From the very beginning, Keyra and Kendra were incredibly accommodating, professional, and patient. They explained the entire process in detail, answered all my questions, and made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way. I asked to start with a lighter color and thinner shape because I was a little scared to go too bold. After healing, I realized I should have trusted their original recommendation to go slightly darker and wider but that's exactly what the touch-up appointment was for. During my touch-up, Keyra perfected the shape and color, and now my brows look absolutely beautiful and natural. Beyond the services, the environment is welcoming, clean, and relaxing. My wife found this studio on Instagram. She saw some photos of their microblading work and was…read moreinterested in getting her brows done here. After looking up their info, we visited the store at opening time, around 1000. After a while, no one came to open the store still, so I called the phone number listed. The first time I contacted Beauty and Brows Studio, some lady I assume is the owner gave me an attitude about not calling first. Why would you say your store is open at a particular time and not be available? We would rather talk to someone IN PERSON about services and fees than phone or text. Strike one. After the short phone call, she only texted back to discuss which esthetician would do the work and the price. After agreeing on the person, time, and price, I took my wife to her appointment. The esthetician was late to the appointment and still had to set up her equipment. Strike two. My wife ends up getting along with her esthetician so at least that's a plus. After picking up my wife, the esthetician told both my wife and me that she could do a touch-up (included in the price) in 8-12 weeks (or so, I don't remember precisely the time frame) if the color faded. I remember specifically that it was included in the price because I commented/joked about it being similar to a car wash warranty. You get a free car wash if it rains within 48 hours. After the specified time, my wife contacted the esthetician for a touch-up. Again, she was late and had to set up. Before I left, I asked her (for planning purposes) how long it would take, approximately. She said 45 minutes to an hour. With that timeframe, I changed plans to run some errands, grab some items we needed, and come back to pick her up. I took a little longer than planned and rushed back to pick up my wife. She was not yet done when I got back, so I didn't feel bad for running a bit late. After close to 45 minutes of waiting, while trying to keep our daughter calm, with frozen foods melting in the car, she FINALLY tells me that they changed plans from what she initially told me, and it will still be about another 30 minutes. STRIKE THREE! I get it. Things change. But you don't think you could've told me when you saw me come back 45 minutes ago? I was so mad that I just left to go home and drop off the stuff before it melted even more. That was about a 45-minute round trip before I got back. Guess what? She STILL was not done. I just wait in the car this time. When my wife comes out, she tells me that she was charged another $150 for the touch-up. SHE was even sure that we were told it was included in the initial price. She said the esthetician acted surprised that we were surprised and didn't leave a tip. Strikes 4, 5, 6, 7 ,8, and 9. The inning is f'in over. My wife saw the upcoming price change on their Instagram account a few days later. If the increase isn't until LATER, why did we have to pay now? To top it off, while I was waiting the first time, another esthetician was arguing on the phone with a client about their prices as well. So I'm positive that others are being swindled and unhappy. If I could give this place zero stars, or negative stars, I f'in would.

First time at Moon and Stars Salon I had a smoothing treatment and cut. I am in love with how my hair kept the same curl, but better with less frizz. I went from avoiding salons to having a favorite place. I went back to try something different, purple peekaboo highlights, I'm in love!
