I booked a "Therapeutic Table Massage" with Shannon Trudeau and had a very traumatic experience…read more When I arrived I explained to her I like firm pressure and was having issues with my shoulders and neck and upper back being very tight and I would like to primarily focus on those areas. The first 30 minutes of my massage were her guiding some sort of yoga nidra exercise with no actual massaging. I had to ask her when the massage would actually start. She seemed to have a huge ego about the request and continued her guided exercise. Once she did start "massaging" me, it was just her placing her hands on my body very lightly and doing static holds on trigger points. I explained to her I would Like more muscle stimulation in the form of a faster deeper massage but she didn't listen to my requests and kept doing the things she was doing that I did not ask for. She didn't pay attention tho the specific areas that I came in to address and spent most of the time on my arms and legs. She talked the majority of the massage and kept instructing me to take deep breaths. I do not come in to this for a therapy session which is what it felt like. The table was cold and so was the room. I had to ask her to turn the heat on the table mid session because I was freezing and her hands were freezing. She did not seem to have any knowledge of anatomy, massage, or draping. After the session was over she sat me down and wanted to go over her "findings" and it felt really uncomfortable having someone tell me all the areas in my body she noticed I was tight but not actually using the time I paid for to resolve any of those issues. I did not book a trigger point massage, a reiki session, or a therapy session. I mentioned to her multiple times I was not wanting the type of "massage" she gave me and she said that "energetically we may not be a good fit" - in my option this is such a rude thing to say to someone who was very clear about the massage I wanted to receive and requested it multiple times only to be completely ignored - probably because this person is not educated enough or capable of doing actual massage. This practitioner is borderline harmful and should not be practicing any healing modality. I felt disgusting after leaving her session. I felt completely ignored and judged. I debated weather or not I should leave this review but after experiencing this I wanted other people to know the potential harms of booking with this practitioner. Please remove her from "therapeutic table massage" because she didn't actually massage me and this is really misleading for customers.

Apt/checkin: the apt and checkin process is so smooth. As soon as you walk in you are greeted and asked what you need (I witnessed this with everyone who walked through the door). I made an apt earlier that morning and was able to be accommodated for an early afternoon apt. When you step in there is a pad where you enter your phone number to check in. Service: I was not pleased with my nail tech the first time I came. Poor and messy cuticle cleaning and massage and sloppy polish. This time my tech was better. Attention to detail with cleaning. Took care and went over cleaning cuticles multiple time and really worked on my heel dryness with the stone. Still some issues with polish final looks. It's a bit uneven and lumpy as you can see from the picture. She struggled a bit during the process too. if you're doing gel though, they have sooo many color options to choose from! There is a bit of a language barrier but all my needs were met with a bit of repetition. The gentleman that seemed to be the manager was very attentive and friendly. I almost left my kindle behind and he returned it to me before I left the salon. Trustworthy and friendly! Only downside it that it seems you have to get lucky with who your nail technician is so if you find a good one try and go to that same person every time. Price: the salon was nice enough to send a 10% off coupon for my birthday via text. I probably would not have given this place a second chance had I not received that text. I paid about $45 for the mostly basic pedicure with non gel polish. This seems expensive for me but it seems to be normal pricing in North Carolina. Overall at least this time I felt it was worth the price tag. Ambiance: love love the massage chairs! Very comfortable and great after a workout! Everything was very clean and sterile. New packages were opened for tools used on my feet. Soak tubs were plastic covered and tech wore masks and gloves. The decor is very appealing and gives an upscale feel. Friendly atmosphere.

I came in for a full set (medium length) and a pedicure around 2 weeks ago. I got gel on both my hands and feet and paid $135. I came back into the shop 2 weeks later for another full set (short length) and a color change on my toes. I paid $115 for my services today. Absolutely unacceptable. You're telling me that the price difference between a full set (medium length w/ gel) and pedicure & full set (short length w/ gel) and a polish change is $20?? No way! The prices are not consistent. If I would have known that I was going to be paying that much for a fraction of the services previously provided, I would have just saved my money. They charge for every little thing and neglect to tell you what all you're charged for before or during your service. Overall bad experience and I will not be going back.

When he was done, it was still partially wet and not straight at all. I asked him to dry it straight, so then he went back and kept drying it (this time, employing a different strategy, which I was doubtful about but I decided to trust the process), but it was still very frizzy and had visible waves when he was done. It clearly wasn't going to get any better so I said thanks and left, but I truly think it's because he hasn't had practice with my hair type. Last night I slept with a silk bonnet on, and despite that I woke up this morning and it is very wavy and super thick and frizzy. It looks incomplete (like it was partially blow dried but never finished. Which is lowkey what happened). I'm also noticing now that the hair is uneven length on each side. I paid less than I typically pay at other places, which was nice, but overall I'm disappointed. It also smelled kind of bad in the salon.
