Such a wonderful experience here! I no longer live in Texas but I come home for holidays etc. to be with my family who still does. For my high school reunion last month, I needed to make sure my hair looked amazing since the water at my parent's house is disgusting compared to NYC's. I asked my cousin if she knew any salons that do a great blowout and she said she had heard of J L'Art Organic Salon from her friends! Booking on their platform did not work for me so I called to book my appointment instead. I did a 10am on a Saturday, thinking ok I'll be done within an hour... *TWO. HOURS. LATER.* (haha) Honestly probably one of the longest blowouts I've ever had but it was definitely worth it and I wasn't in a rush. The chairs they have you lie down on for your wash are sooooo comfortable. My stylist Chasity gave me THREE deep shampoos and the last one I think I fell asleep as she massaged my scalp for the longest time. Anyone who knows me knows that I am a total sucker for a hair and scalp massage. For my conditioner she massaged my scalp AGAIN and then wrapped my head in a hot towel so it was a steam mask for 5-10 minutes. Like wow. The blowout itself was done with such precision. Using the Dyson hair dryer, my hair was gathered into small sections and every flyaway was tamed. I have a lot of hair and it's pretty long so I really appreciate her commitment to the process. My hair afterwards was sooooo soft, shiny, and silky. Chasity did an amazing job! Also, they're very reasonably priced. My blowout was $50... my salon in NYC could NEVER. Such a luxurious service for such a great price! If I ever need a blowout again while visiting my hometown, I will be definitely booking an appointment here. read more

Services were great however the pricing is up there which I don't mind paying if the place is "salon" quality (does say it in the name), however it was not. The bathroom was gross; didn't even have soap to was hands. Every station that I could see needed a good wiping. There was dust on everything and spots from who knows what. The baseboards were dirty (yes, I look at that, it's a sign of cleanliness). If I could give the stylist alone a 5 star rating I would. Theodora is great and I might go back just to have her wash my hair.. haha, but probably not unless they clean it up and give it a better salon quality vibe. read more

Walked in this place at random and ended up getting eyebrow wax with tint. The ambiance is chic, friendly and accommodating. The staff gave me a mini tour and explained the services they have to offer from hair cuts to pedicures. I like that the space is very open and has wonderful lighting. Does not feel cluttered at all. Brows- my brows came out fabulous! The tinting was a bit messy the first day but after the second day is when the tint settled and the color was distributed evenly. The lady who did my brows was very sweet and listened to my requests. Not too thin, not too dark. She kept handing me the mirror to ensure that I was satisfied with the process. For the hair people. @davinescolor has transformed my hair. This is about six weeks after my last appointment which is incredible when it comes to highlights and lowlights. Not only is the color amazing but the products are some of the best products on the market. I have used everything - Kerastasé, Oribe, Aveda, Olaplex, and many other luxury hair brands but nothing has come close to the results achieved with davines. Review is for Nails only- I came into J L'Art for a simple mani and pedi with just polish--no gels or powder. Unfortunately, I'm disappointed with my nails. My nail tech was really sweet, but I found the actual mani and pedi to be lacking, especially for a salon this reputed and pricey. For starters, the water kept getting cold, even after I asked her to heat it up. I asked for a glitter top coat, and the top coat bubbled and pooled. The leftover water used for the mani soak was also dumped into the pedicure tank with my feet still in the tank. I also left with top coat on my cuticles, leaving my nails to look messy and not professionally done at all. I was surprised--they didn't even have a UV heat lamp to dry my nails with! While my tech and the front desk attendant were sweet, J L'Art has a ways to go in terms of manicure and pedicure services. read more

While I really appreciate their hospitality and friendliness, I am still unsatisfied with the result lasting time. I noticed after coming home that the tip of my thumb is thicker than the bottom of it, and the side not even (like in picture) but I don't wanna make it as a big deal and come back to the shop. Because no one would notice that details. My nail tech was nice, but the work doesn't last long. My nails started getting to lift and even felt off on the 8th day after having them done, while they have the 7-day warranty. This is my second time at JL' Art Organic Salon and Spa. The atmosphere was very polished & clean. They have a section for hair, area for mani/pedis & rooms to do facials & massages. One stop shop is what it is. The first time I came was to get a back facial with Tu-Anh. She did an amazing job and I felt super relaxed with the massage/scrubbing. My back felt very smooth afterwards. The 2nd time I came to get a pedicure with Quynh. I got a Lavender Pedicure that includes the service, hot stone massage for my legs/feet and French Tip. The chairs were comfortable with a built in massage in it. The staff were super friendly, they had lots of beverages to choose from like water, soda, wine & even Vietnamese coffee. There's plenty of parking within the plaza and restrooms were single stalled and kept clean/sanitized. Also I made a appointment ahead of time for each service. Before you arrive, you will need to sign 2 waivers. When you get there you will get your temperature taken and of course wear a mask. I felt very safe being there. Will come back again! read more

I went for a signature custom facial with Tu on a Saturday morning and took advantage of the 20% off services special for the month. We just moved to Katy, then Covid happened, and I had a baby so I haven't gotten a haircut in a while. I was pleasantly surprised by this place, and I have found my new home salon. When I arrived, I was greeted instantly, given hand sanitizer, temperature checked, a warm towel, bottled water, and was seated in Stephanie's chair. Stephanie did a quick consult checking out my hair and asked all the right questions to understand my needs. Then we proceeded to the back to wash my hair. I have to say, the hair washing experience was AMAZING! First, everything was sanitized. There is a place for your shoes. You take off your shoes, put them in their spot, and then lay down! Just like in Japan! After laying down, you look up to see a beautiful garden like decoration in the ceiling. Stephanie was really good with the head massage and the products she used smelled wonderful. It wasn't a rushed thing either. She took her time and even wrapped my hair up with the towel in an intricate wrap. The haircut was very nice and exactly what I wanted. I need something easy since I have a toddler and a newborn. I also have a lot of hair and Stephanie was able to navigate all of it and give me the cut I wanted. She is so friendly and so sweet and I would highly recommend her. Overall, I had an awesome experience. The hair washing was unique, unexpected, and memorable. I highly recommend this salon and Stephanie. I went to a different place in Houston to get a haircut and they gave me the worst cuts I have ever gotten. I actually went back for them to fix it. But it was still terrible. I'm a little late on my review... With a hectic schedule, I was glad to be able to find a salon in Katy! I had an appointment back in the summer of 2017. Jenny was a sweetheart and gave me lots of tips and how she cuts my hair. I love the customer card program to note down on my session. The hot warm towel wrap was amazing, it was nice mini spa that I needed! I have a lot of hair and the way she textured it 'not thinning' help keep the weight off. I called to request pricing for all-over color dye, they said $100. I have hair that has been thinning due to a combination of factors (stress and bad products). I asked for a dye to cover up a balayage that had turned brassy. I have naturally brown hair. This seemed like a reasonable price, so I moved forward with my apt. If you want someone to aggressively tackle your unruly hair, Julie is your gal. If you are somewhat tender headed with a sensitive scalp, she may not be the best fit for you. I asked her multiple times to be gentle because she was yanking my already sparse hair, but due to language barriers I don't think she understood what I was asking. She gives an aggressive shampoo massage. Anyway, halfway through my a session she comes back to inform me that since they did a toner it was going to be $135 for the dye (I gave medium length hair on my shoulders) and $64 for the toner. However I did not ask for a toner, I wanted a simple all over dye. Because of this it ended up being off-black instead of dark mocha brown. The nail service was good and reasonable, 35 for a gel mani is standard. But $200 for a simple all over dye is a bit much, it is not a complex service such as balayage or baby lights. read more

It was my first visit today - and I am now in love. The space itself is really cosy and modern. All the staff are friendly, professional and absolutely lovely! Jenny did my color correction (from a sludge green to deep navy blue) and cut. She was absolutely amazing. She explained the procedure with me before hand, so I completely understood what was going to be happening to my hair. I really felt like I was in good hands, and completely trusted her! My hair now looks incredible. The color is exactly the navy color I attempted to get myself in the first place!!! I'm SO happy! I strongly recommend this place!! It took me too long to write this review, the first time I wrote out 3 paragraphs and yelp deleted it! So, let me get started! The atmosphere of this place is fantastic, it's not like most salons, they have a couple of sitting areas and one of the areas is actually where they color your hair which is so different from the mundane 3 hours of staring yourself in the mirror. They even have a resident dog! He is so sweet and casually walks around the salon. It's a very calming place to be! The prices, for some I'm sure they seem a little high, but when you consider that they're a 100% organic salon the prices make sense. I have a very sensitive scalp, and when my stylist put the bleach on my head/Scalp, it DID NOT sting, burn or itch. It was SUCH a relief compared to the stinging I used to experience with my old stylist. My stylist!!! Let me tell you about Kaitlyn, she has a firey personality and the hair to match! I knew immediately after seeing her hair that she was fantastic with color and blondes! I went in to get my color fixed from my previous stylist who just couldn't get me to the blonde I wanted, Kaitlyn lifted my dark roots in ONE PROCESS, with what I would say had zero damage! (I could be wrong, as I'm not the expert, but I didn't notice any damage.) I spent about 4 hours with her to fix my hair, lift it and add some fun pigments in the photos attached, it was worth it! I never thought I would be comfortable going back to a normal salon but this place is amazing! I love everything about it! OH!
