I recently came across a Chrysler vehicle online that I was interested in purchasing, so I contacted the dealership via e-mail, to confirm its availability. After being informed that the vehicle was still in stock, I submitted an offer below the asking price, requesting that it include taxes, title, and registration fees. Unfortunately, the response I received was unprofessional and discourteous. While I fully understand that my offer may not have been accepted, a simple and respectful decline--or even a counteroffer--would have been appropriate. A reputable dealership would typically take the opportunity to engage in negotiations, provide alternatives, or invite a prospective buyer to visit for a test drive. Based on this experience, the negative reviews I had previously seen about this dealership appear to be accurate. I am ultimately relieved that I did not travel over an hour only to encounter this level of customer service. We came to this dealership to view a Toyota we had called about just two hours prior. Upon arrival, there was zero acknowledgment--the salesman was speaking to a colleague and didn't even look our way. I waited politely until their conversation ended to introduce ourselves and ask about the car. This lack of basic customer service set the tone for everything that followed. The vehicle in question had accident history, frame damage, and an open recall. We came prepared with tools--a scanner, multimeter, and jack stand--to do a full inspection before considering a cash purchase. We asked for permission to inspect, which was verbally granted. The salesman was standing outside watching us prepare the jack and didn't raise a single concern--until days later, when we made a reasonable offer based on the car's condition. Only then did we receive a string of passive-aggressive and emotionally charged text messages, accusing us of "pulling a stunt." If lifting the car for inspection was truly an issue, he had every opportunity to say so in the moment--but chose to weaponize it later as a way to reject the offer and save face. To make it worse, this is the same salesperson who admitted to us that 80% of his market walks away when they realize the car is a manual. So when two informed, qualified buyers show up with actual tools, knowledge, and cash on hand--he shuts the deal down over pride? Bottom line: he didn't seem prepared for a buyer who would actually inspect the car thoroughly and ask intelligent questions. We were professional, polite, and direct. What we got in return was ego, deflection, and unprofessionalism. If you're serious about buying and value transparency, you're better off going anywhere else. read more

It's the worst car dealership I have ever seen. They sold my son a car with a bad transmission. It broke down the next day. They hauled it in and I thought wow, what a good salesman. A few days later they said they had spent a $1000 fixing the transmission. It was all a lie. The mechanic we picked it up from said they never spent a dime on it. They sent me a copy of some repairs made on the car and claimed that was proof. The repair receipts, they sent, were not for the transmission repair and were dated a month or more before he even bought the car. It cost $3800 to fix the car and they refuse to do the honorable thing. Never, ever under any circumstances, buy from these people. The only reason I gave them a one star is because the site will not let me give them anything lower. read more

Hello all, I am leaving 2/5 star review today, we purchased a used vehicle at J Linn Motors last week. The sale was simple and easy, we bought the vehicle out right so there wasn't much of a hassle there. That's where the pleasantries stop. We live literally 2 miles away and by the time we got home, the change oil light was on which was strange because it wasn't on before and they just topped off the fluids. I thought it was peculiar that the fluids they were topping off was engine oil, however they did. Long behold within 5mins of running I understood why, the oil pan was cracked and bad. I immediately put the car on my ramps and took the pics (see attached). Luckily I was able to order the necessary parts and have the ability to change them, however my ability to do so doesn't excuse the sale of a vehicle in the Hazardous condition it was sold in. I am not saying the Dealer knowingly sold me the car with knowledge of the Hazardous Condition it was in, however it is pretty apparent that by topping off the oil they knew to an extent that there was a possible leak that was not disclosed during the sale. In closing I would say buyer beware of purchasing any vehicle from this dealership without an inspection or written notice of no leaking fluids or part defects that warrant a immediate liability concern. It definitely seems like an unfair practice to sell a vehicle that is not in safety operations. I would be hard pressed to find something more positive to say about my experience. If you value your life and those of your loved ones, stay FAR, FAR away. I have had a mechanic who is willing to testify confirm that J-Lin Motors committed fraud. 1. They put a 2024 battery sticker on an old battery. The cells in the battery were bad. Just enough for a test drive and a regular day of driving and the battery died revealing the true age and condition of the "brand new" battery along with other issues with the vehicle. 2. They cleared computer codes indicating the computer had very extensive and expensive catastrophic problems without actually fixing the issues. These particular computer errors could have caused me to lose control of the car at any time which could have cost me my life, or worse caused me to take the life of someone else. The computer is so messed up, the vehicle will run without even being connected to the battery, but will no longer start. When it did run, it was hardly getting any power and could not get up to speed with traffic. This started about 72 hours after I purchased the vehicle. When I called Fred to inform him I was aware of what they had done and offered him a very generous opportunity to fix the issue, he asked me to hold. He promptly disconnected the call and blocked me. When I texted him from another phone asking if he was willing to accept my very generous offer to make things right, he ignored the text and blocked that number too. If you have experience similar issues, I encourage you to get in touch with me. I purchased a Subaru Tribeca from J Linn, when I test drove it everything seemed fine they must have did a good grease job under the vehicle. After a couple days of driving it the noises under the car and the front end what atrocious. When you turn the wheel it goes clunk, a lot of squeaking, also when you put the vehicle in reverse there's a big clunk. None of this happened while I was test driving you. Also the check engine light, traction light and cruise control all came on four times within the past 2 months. Took it to a mechanic they put the tester on the vehicle and it said my gas cap loose, we tightened it and they cleared the codes couple weeks later the same thing happened I bought a new gas cap and they cleared the codes. The lights came on again a couple days ago and they're telling me the code 420 which means the catalytic converter need attention. I'm sure some of these issues popped up and they just ignore them didn't correct them I paid over $7,000 for this vehicle and to me it's nothing but ahead. Purchase the car from this company about a month ago I've already written one review, a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta that I only had for less than 48 hours. Now I read the owner's review answering mine stating that I kept calling the mechanic that was supposedly working on my car, I called this guy two times because he's not very reliable in returning calls or letting me know what's going on I called the check to see one time how he was making out, the second time to see when my car was going to be ready so the rest is all b*******. I was extremely disappointed when I came to the lot, after viewing a vehicle online, with completely edited photos. The photos of the vehicle showed that it was in great condition. The dashboard was cracked entirely in many places and the photos did not show a single crack. They were semi-friendly people but definitely would not recommend wasting your time looking for a vehicle here. read more

Be very careful if your going to buy a car here. I bought a car here on Friday and it broke down on Saturday. I called them and they told me to bring it in on Monday to be repaired. They told me they would repair it at no cost and have it back to me by the end of the day. Well today is Tuesday and it's still not done. I'm outta personal days so Now I gotta rent a car to go to work while they work on it. Update: They finally finished my car. they replaced the radiator, the timing belt, and the water pump. Even for a Buy Here/Pay Here dealer, J-Linn more than upmarks the fair market value of their cars, well above the standard 20% with most dealers, and there is absolutely no room for negotiation. Fred is the most condescending salesman I've ever sat down with; honestly not sure how he moves any cars off his lot- he even told me he'd be fine if some of them sat for 365 days before selling! Unheard of! My advice is to go to a legitimate factory certified dealer and take whatever money Fred asked you for and put it down on something nicer! The kicker with these guys is they didn't even want me showing the car I was seriously interested in to my mechanic- if that's not fishy I don't know what is. My son put down a deposit on a 2004 Chevrolet Impala last Friday January 24, 2014 of $100.00 to hold the car and then he would pay $250,00 this Friday and $250.00 next Friday February 7, 2014 when he picks up the car. My son stopped in there today Thursday January 29, 2014 to take the car to the mechanic shop where he works to be looked at. Andrew told my son he sold the car last night, however it was still on the lot. The price for the car was $4995. He told me on the phone that "he forgot" that the car was sold. This is a BAIT & SWITCH place and I have reported them to the Better Business Bureau and I suggest if you have had problems with them you do the same. His ethics leave much to be desired. I was interested in a 2005 Mazda 6 they have for sale for $3,950 (12/26/2015) and I called to ask them about it and was told that it's "cash only", yet they advertise as "WE FINANCE ALL OF OUR VEHICLES." Even for that particular car, they are advertising it as "WE FINANCE. BUY HERE PAY HERE". It says that right on the ad for the car. I also visited the place in Clearwater and they have written on their store window "BUY HERE PAY HERE". So, they denied me consideration for financing this particular vehicle, saying this car was "CASH ONLY" and they only finance some of their cars if I want to go down for them to show me the ones they will finance (?!) against all of their own blatant advertising. They say they finance "ALL" of their vehicles, but told me the one I wanted wasn't one they would finance. I guess I don't know the meaning of the word "ALL". read more

I do not recommend buying here!! I bought a vehicle here last month, asked if there were any mechanical issues.. frank said the only thing was the timing belt had been replaced. I ran a diagnostics scan that came back clean. Turns out they can swipe the computer to make it look that way! The van had an intense burning smell and I eventually noticed a leak under the engine. I took it to a mechanic and they told me the van had a severe engine leak, that I shouldn't drive the van and should take it back immediately. Frank, the salesman, admitted to knowing about the problem and said he didn't have to tell me everything about the vehicle!! Even though I directly asked about the engine!!! He said they had repaired the oil gasket (obviously not well enough even if it's true that it was repaired) and that it wouldn't show up on diagnostics because his mechanic DOESNT EVEN WRITE REPAIRS HE DOES DOWN. The last time I spoke to him he said he was unwilling to make any compromises or fix the van and now I'm stuck in a legal situation with seemingly no end!! Not a trustworthy dealership!!! WARNING****J Linn Motor sells LEMONS!!!! I bought a vehicle on Saturday and test drove it and all looked and ran fine... Little did I know that I'd drive off the lot and the vehicle engine light and oil light go on...wtf?? I immediately called them and they said there wasn't anyone to look at it. I was told to have it looked at by a mechanic and call them back Monday when they opened since they are closed on Sunday. My mechanic looked at it and the whole engine is shot! I tried multiple times to get a call back on Monday from salesman Fred who sold it to me and I waited for hours and left messages with secretary. He never called me back. I finally had to go in and they refused to help with repairs or even trade it for something running..they told me it was my problem since it was used. It DOES NOT EVEN RUN!!! This car was for my 16 year old daughter who just got her first job and needed transportation to go to work... I'm a single mom going to school and working. I don't have the $4000 to repair it. This is a piece of sh** auto dealer, all of them are a mo-fo from the owner down to the detailers. We bought a car on Saturday; the minutes we drove off the lot within 200 yards the car broke down. We called and ask to bring it back and they said they were done for the day and no mechanics were on duty. they told us to bring it back on Monday. The following Monday, since the car wasn't function, we called and called if they can come tow it. We decided to go there after tire of them avoiding our call. Once there, they basically told us with a straight face that it's our problem now. They won't exchange the car, refund or pay half the repair. All we want is to have them correct the issue and do the right thing. Got neither.
