I visited Coles and explained to the nice young lady at the desk what I needed done and about the other plumber. She told me yes, they were cheaper, and the following day, she sent me a quote. My jaw dropped on how much cheaper Coles was charging. Chris came over. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained everything that he was going to do before doing anything to the boiler. If he ran into a hiccup, he would inform me before doing anything. I really appreciated that. He considered me and not do whatever without discussing it with me. Chris replaced several valves, replaced the expansion tank, cleaned the boiler, replaced a thermostat, and purged the boiler and the cost was much less than half of what the other company wanted to charge me. Coles was honest, reasonable, professional, courteous. If only more businesses were like that. May God bless abundantly the Coles business, their families, everyone who works for them. His first question was how old the panel was, when answered I was met with, immediately, you need to change the panel - "a panel is like a roof, it needs to be changed every 20-30 years, even without issues". This seemed odd. I reached out to contractors I know and they had never heard that, but the internet has... so that's divided. The Owner, once again, was polite and friendly. He offered to fit me in for an inspection that he would personally do. This turned into him later sending a technician instead, but the inspection was still being done. The technician came out, checked the panel and then advised my wife who was home and was the point of contact. I specifically told the Owner as well as the technician, my wife would be the contact. The technician didn't even leave my drive way. Was literally sitting in it when he called me to follow up. I asked if he spoke to my wife. He said he did. I asked why he needed to call me. "To follow up" . But you spoke to my wife. "Yes". Then why are we speaking? He had no answer. I was put off by the fact he felt it necessary to speak to me as if my wife didn't get it. The technician basically told me everything that my wife already advised me of when she called quickly to let me know they wanted $6000 to replace my panel but couldn't tell her why. So I asked why. The answer - it's old. There is no danger, nothing imminent, the fuses look okay but it's old. When I said that seems illogical if it works, I was told I may not be aware that power isn't going to the house and lights might not work. I only live there, I think I would know if lights didn't work. But whatever. The technician also asked if he could follow up in a few days. Of course you can but why ask? "Because some customers feel that we harass them". Oof. That's awkward. They also have payment plans available, included in the quote should you move forward with the project. I immediately called for a second and third opinion. Both second and third reported my panel was in excellent condition and besides one fuse, didn't need to be replaced. They also quoted a project like that $3k less if not more but didn't have actual. I also didn't want to waste their time getting one considering I wasn't doing the work. Very nice company, but not for the work I need.

I needed a job done and had three actual electricians come out to provide estimates. While the true…read moreprofessionals were at my house, I requested they look at the breaker that Ray and Randy were so offended that I questioned. All three looked at and confirmed during their individual estimates that the breaker that Randy put in was incorrect and NEVER should have been left that way. The breaker wasn't completely set and was causing intermittent issues. The breaker was to a Sump Pump room in the basement and never would have been noticed had real professionals not taken a look at it. It is clear the breaker didn't fit. Randy tried to wedge it in and almost caused damage to both my panel and worse, my home should I have needed the pump to work. I tried to remedy this with Ray, the owner, who sent me a scathing - I am a rock star, google me, I'm out touring with bands do you know who these bands are because I'm important and if the guy I sent to do a job says it's done right - it is. When in reality, his guys mistake almost cost me a lot. Thankfully, one electrician swapped out the breaker at no cost as he was ashamed someone in the business would leave it like that. A swap that Randy told me would be 350 if he had to come back.
