I needed a custom scope mount built for my Browning 10gauge NWTF Shotgun and they built me one to my needs. It works perfectly!

First I went to a large store in Greenwood. You know the one I mean. The guy at the gun counter said they wouldn't have one. I asked if they did transfers. He wasn't sure! Then he said he thought they were $75. I told him I used to run an FFL and that I charged $25. The counter guy named some other Greenwood store that might do transfers for a reasonable price. I went there. It was a Sunday. Google lied to me and they weren't open. So I kept trying, and that's how I ended up meeting Josh, the man who runs the Greenwood Trading Post. They're open Wednesday through Sunday, with appointments possible on Monday and Tuesday. But I'm patient. I can let a man have his days off. There are usually a couple other people in the shop with Josh when I come in. Everyone seems pretty friendly to me, and knowledgeable. They definitely put a lot of guns in my hands, but they're not pushy. As a former FFL holder and continuing firearm enthusiast, we have plenty of things to make conversation about. I have done very satisfying business with Josh at fair prices. Give this shop a chance. I think there's a lot more knowledge and goodwill here than at the big store. I'll go here first anytime for the very fair $25 transfer fee and to be treated like a customer by someone who actually knows something about guns. That's right. I could do three transfers here for the price of one at the place where they counter guy didn't give me much confidence in his knowledge of either guns or his store's workings. I'd call that true value.

I've been a patron there for over 5 years. Unfortunately, the last time I purchased a handgun there, there was a gentleman working there who I can only describe as slightly portly with long hair. He seemed incapable of making small talk without being insulting or rude. It even seemed to me that the other two employees were aware of the man's poor social skills and did their best to ignore the guy's extremely poor customer service skills. For reference: while waiting for my background check to go through, I casually mentioned that I had seen something called a dual Taper Lock system which had been made by a small AR-15 manufacturer which seemed to be extremely innovative as it provides a 360° equal amount of pressure when locking the barrel to the upper of the AR-15 as opposed to standard Barrel nuts while also manufacturing their barrels with tapered cuts running circularly around their barrels as opposed to length wise cuts which apparently reduced barrel flex by allowing their barrels to compress and expand slightly as opposed to flexing/whipping which affects accuracy. Both of these unique design elements were new to the AR world and apparently guarantee 1 MOA or sub MOA accuracy for 5000 rounds which is a pretty incredible claim. When I asked him if he had heard about this company or their claims, he said no but immediately started talking shit about it and even began to try to loudly tell his coworkers about this AR that "this guy" thinks is cool. SMH. THEY BOTH STRAIT UP IGNORED HIM. It was like they had delt with his crap before. The worst part is that I was not the only customer in the store that this employee was being rude to. There were three or four other customers in the store that had simple questions about handguns that they were looking at. If any of them ask any questions that he deemed to be below his standard of knowledge he would either roll his eyes or chuckle before answering in order to make them feel stupid. Get that guy out of your store guys. Smh

We were only going to stop for a few minutes to check out their inventory but ended up staying awhile and even made a terrific and reasonably priced purchase. The shop is small so the inventory isn't massive like some larger gun shops. Badger Creek does offer unique items, such as older revolvers, as well as new items. One I fell in love with was a gorgeous Colt 1911 pistol with a hot-blued finished frame (hot oxidation of the steel). It was extremely striking with all the various shades of color and a fair price. Another thing I judge a gun store by is if they acknowledge and respect a woman the same as a man entering the business and not ignoring women. My husband and I entered the business at separate times since I was outside taking pictures. When I entered the gentlemen behind the counter immediately acknowledged me and made me feel very welcome. They explained answers to my questions clearly and made it fun to look at whatever I found interesting. I truly enjoyed giving them our business rather than a cold impersonal salesperson. Yes, their prices were competitive and reasonable so I wasn't just looking for a girl's pretty pink or purple gun. Whether you're in the market or just out shopping in the Mooresville area, pop in for a few minutes. Even if you don't find something you can't live without, you won't have wasted a lot of time with the small shop and you'll have met some experienced and friendly owners.
