Read about a possible DIY fix, but with safety risk, so I decided I needed a pro. Called TME about 9:00 am and Tom returned my call in 15 minutes. Said he'd stop by around noon to assess the issue. Arrived a bit earlier, immediately knew the probable cause, disassembled the unit with the wiring, and fixed it on the spot. Was done and left in about 20 minutes. WOW!! Little did I expect such timely and competent service. Tom was very personable, humorous, respectful of property, was able to work with the bed in place, and cost was very reasonable. So this marks our third full year with the HV MECHANICAL SERVICES team. I can honestly say that there is not a single thing a person could have required done to their heating and cooling systems in a home that I have not had done in this house since purchasing it. To include a new chimney liner for a furnace and a new mini split in a converted garage. During my time with HV Mechanical I have found the company and its personnel to be extremely flexible, kind, and honest. For example, Heath identified a part listed in a new job for one of my projects that was not truly and instead of going ahead with installing the part they bought at their cost he left the component in place and reduced the cost of the project. I would never have known the difference. I trust Heath and his team with the upkeep of this house. Another time I had an issue with my AC unit and brought multiple people out here for a free estimate on a new unit. Instead of gouging me for a complete new AC unit Heath did a thorough examination of our system. Identified the issue and attempted applied the fix to the coolant tubing in an attempt to save us money. His fix has held for over a year. Every company has its faults, especially small business. I live across the country from my mom who is retired which can make it a bit more difficult to help…read moreher with home repair work. She had a handyman install a water heater that subsequently caught fire. The handyman came back out and replaced it, but I had serious concerns about the quality of his work and my mom's safety. I called out the local Mr Sparky office who sent a technician that was rude, pushy and disinterested in looking at the water heater. He insisted that her fuse box was well passed its lifespan and told me the wires inside were all melted and that it needed to be replaced immediately at a cost of $8089.00. I told him I would need a second opinion which agitated him. I called Mid Penn and Brian came out the next morning. He was courteous and thorough in his investigation beginning with the water heater. He didn't see any obvious problems, but tightened up the wiring done by the handyman. He looked at the panel box, meter and so forth and determined that everything was still within its expected work life and functioning correctly. It was a completely different experience and saved us from being robbed by the other electrician. I can't thank Brian enough for putting all of our minds at ease with his respectful business demeanor, thorough review and clarity on so many seemingly frightening bits of misinformation. We decided to enroll in there program to come out regularly and check in the electrical systems in my mom's house. You can't buy that kind of assurance to concerns for a loved one. It's earned.
