Upstairs I went to find our guest bath toilet leaking water all over the tiled floor!! A call to G&C and Chris was there within 2 hours. He gave me multiple options and priced them out and I chose to have the entire toilet replaced by them. They were able to come the next business day and do it. I was even running 10 min behind and came home to find them parked in the driveway waiting! Talk about accurate service window estimates!! They replaced the toilet and did great work cleaning up, as well. They even wore shoe covers every time they left and reentered my home. Chris & Chris went above and beyond!!! Highly recommend!!

G&C Plumbing's pricing is significantly higher than expected for the work performed. I scheduled an…read moreappointment to replace a kitchen faucet and three shut-off valves; however, I was informed that an estimate could not be provided without an on-site visit. A $99 service call fee was disclosed in advance. Despite being a relatively simple job, the total cost exceeded $1,900. After researching the cost of the faucet from their local supplier, I discovered that the faucet retailed for $280, yet I was charged $1,142 for the faucet and installation. Replacing three shut-off valves was billed at $673. In total, an estimated $450 in parts resulted in $1,350 in labor for what was less than a 3-hour job. I reached out to management to better understand the significant upcharge and was told the pricing reflects a two-year company warranty. That explanation raised more questions, given the faucet manufacturer already provides a lifetime warranty on parts and finishes for residential users, covering defects in material and workmanship for as long as the original purchaser owns their home. I was also told the shut-off valves were not expected to fail within their two-year warranty. The remaining justification was that G&C hires experienced plumbers who provide a professional and courteous customer experience. Is this not what a consumer should expect?! Then I was informed that G&C provides a complete benefit package for their employees and that plumbers are just expensive. Overall, while the work was completed, the pricing felt significantly out of line with actual cost of parts, scope, and duration of the job.

I think this is my first review that isn't positive on Yelp…read more But I feel like I was just ripped off. Basically, Aundrey came here for less than one hour and cleaned the dust off the the coils of both of my air conditioners for $650 and didn't even complete the job. He did not have a wet/dry vac so he used mine. He did not bring a ladder so he used mine. He did not provide replacement filters. Breakdown of the cost: From the invoice- 'Service call fee covers technician's trip to the job site, including travel time and transportation costs.' I asked Aundrey where he came from. He said from the office which is right here in Newton. 2.6 miles. 8 minutes. = $150 First Air Conditioner: He diagnosed it immediately. Then he cleaned the coils with a brush and he used my vac as well. Look, I have no problem with him using my equipment. I just never had a worker not have his own tools. I had already bought a new filter for this air conditioner so he didn't have to replace it. Total time, about 15 minutes. = $250 Second Air Conditioner which is in the attic. There is nothing in the attic but the air conditioner unit and we do not go up there ever. You need a ladder to get up there. Aundrey didn't have one. He used one of mine. Same problem. Also, This unit needed a new filter as well and it's a different size than the one downstairs. Aundrey left it without a filter and gave me the size of the filter I should get so that I can install it myself. Again, I can't get up in the attic because I'm physically limited. So my air conditioner is currently running right now with no filter. So, he cleaned the coils for about 20 minutes and left the job undone. = $250. Invoice: $150 Travel Time and Transportation costs. $250 Coil Cleaning and installing a filter that I provided. $250 Coil Cleaning and leaving the unit without a filter _________ $650 Oh, and this nonsense about them getting back to you in 10 minutes, it's an automatic text that tells you to call them. I called after I didn't hear from them for an hour or so. That's a big sum when Aundrey took an hour total including his drive time of 8 minutes and the gas he must have used to go 2.6 miles and then not finish the job while using my tools.
