Been here a few times, the hostess and the waiter that we get are always very nice and super helpful. They make the place happier and more cheerful. The food is good for the most part it if you are looking for good food and not super expensive. They had lots of options for all types of food, they worked with my allergies, and I did not get sick, which was super nice. There are always a lot of people here, so that is really good, and they have the football games going, which is good for the weekends. read more

Always good food and we participated in the Early Bird Specials. I had the 14 Oz. Prime Rib with loaded mash potatoes and my spouse opted for the sirloin steak with a side of broccoli . Only one minor comment. I did not notice any wording concerning hard boiled egg in the tossed salad. I was pretty impressed with J Peters on a recent visit to Chapin. I'd probably give it 3.5 stars overall, but the food quality was really great, and that's what matters most. We sat outside on their covered/ enclosed patio area, which was nicely cool on a hot day and brighter than the restaurant interior (which is really dark). Our server was very efficient. We had the lava shrimp as a starter, which has just the right amount of kick from its spicy sauce. Each member of our party really enjoyed their entree (and fair warning-- the portions are quite large). For instance, the ahi tuna was fresh cooked perfectly on both the tuna sandwich and salad. The salad was also loaded with tasty elements, like fried onion strings. The grilled chicken sandwich was juicy and large (at least a breast and a half). My daughter's portion of "mac and cheese" was a little confusing, as it was more like penne Alfredo (still good, but not what we expected). Prices were a little high, but again, you're getting good food and big portions. read more

Good spot for lunch if you want a traditional meal. The early bird special is a decent value if you want an entree, side and salad (11 to 6). We had a party of five and were seated promptly at 12. Our server was Lindsey and she was great the service was prompt and professional (shout out). We had the fried shrimp, fried flounder, burgers, and bang bang shrimp. I'd leave now stars if I could. Went to dinner with my sister at J Peter's in Chapin at 6:10pm our first time there. Immediately ordered our drinks (coke), potato skins, an ahi tuna salad and a fried flounder sandwich. 30 minutes later, after not getting anything but a refill on our drink, our poor server came out and informed us that the kitchen dropped our potato skins on the floor, and informed us that she went ahead and put in our entrees as well (company policy to bring apps out first and all that). At the 50 minute mark this poor girl came back empty handed and informed us that the kitchen burned our SECOND batch of potato skins and that she was so sorry and that everything would be right out. We told her that we understood it wasn't her fault but it was unacceptable and left. They never sent a manager, and this poor waitress had to explain all of this. Never had an offer to take it off our bill. We've lived in Chapin for 3-5 years and this was our first time trying J Peter's. WE WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

We went there the other day, unfortunately it wasn't a good experience, I ordered my usual prime rib medium rare,with a loaded baked potato. The steak and potato arrived very quickly and the steak was well done, both were at just about room temperature. I returned the meal and asked for a medium rare steak nicely, I received another room temperature well done steak and potato. I think they might be warming up precooked meals now. There's a couple restaurants carting this name in the area as well as a competing one with the same menu but different name (JR Cash). If you like one, you'll like the other. They are known for the American foods they offer, house salads with house dressing, and honey drizzled croissants. The building is quite large and able to hold parties. There's a bar area that's surrounding by flat screen TVs and an outside area that's enclosed for larger groups that want some privacy. They definitely have enough people working each time in service to keep from having a slow down in service. Each time I've been has had at least 2 hostesses (often more) and a small army of servers that almost make it 2-3 tables each. The food is good but a little pricey. They do offer an early bird menu to combat this though. The early bird menu usually can be found on the website and you have to dine in to get it. It includes things like chicken, seafood, and steak. Overall it's nice to have this restaurant, especially since it's the only one that is part of the Hilton Honors Dining. read more

Went for a dinner with coworkers on a Thursday. I had the prime rib. Excellent prime rib. Very affordable. One of my coworkers had the filet . It looked outstanding. I will have that next time. Had to leave a review after the 4th trip here with horrible service. The food is good just be prepared to wait at least 45 min for it. When you order your drink go ahead and get two or three glasses of whatever you want because a refill is unlikey. Its hard to find good help these days but J Peter's seems to think it's impossible. read more

We use to eat here often at it was good. I have no complaints about the food, I really enjoy it and it's well priced. The last two times I've eaten there the server has forgotten to put my meal in. Even after asking where the meal was when the rest of my party had their food, they assured me it was coming out, and didn't realize until the entrees came out they had forgotten. I just went to grab take out, and again was told my order was coming only to have a more experienced bartender tell me it was never put in. I'm not sure what's going on but I hope it gets sorted out soon so I can start going back to this place and enjoying their food. Going to have to take a break for a while though read more

2nd Time eating here. Sandwiches and Entrees are good but heavy handed with the salt. They really need to be ashamed of the House salads. Both times the salad was very soggy and the tomatoes were mushy, it's as if they keep the iceberg lettuce they use in water then scoop and drain before serving. Both times management was notified. I had hoped they would have remedied the problem. read more
