Me and my husband being new in town decided to try this place Friday night. I wanted some good soup and it had many to chose from on the web and the salad with pasta looked really good too. We ordered in and there was only one girl working the counter and tables. I ordered the salad with pasta and there broccoli soup. My husband a cup of chicken chowder chili and a bacon turkey sandwich. We sat a long time waiting for are food while others were getting theirs. When we finally got are good my soup was brown didn't look like broccoli. It wasn't. By the time I got the waitress she said she didn't know what broccoli soup looked like and went to the back where the cooks were and came back and said they don't have broccoli even though it was offered on their menu. My husband's chili was the worst chili ever. It was on edible it tasted like a whole can of chili powder was in it. I've never tasted anything so horrible before, my salad barely had any pasta in it like the picture shows. I wish I took a picture of my soup which was tortellini soup not broccoli. My husbands didn't like his sandwich much not much flavor very dry. We told the waitress how awful the chili soup was and she went to tell her manager who look like a kid with a baseball cap on and took the soup off the bill but didn't say much when I told her my salad had barely any pasta on it. We were very disappointed of the food and the service in which the girl needed help and no manager seemed to be around or they would've came out and helped at counter for pick ups. The bill was very expensive for deli food, close to 37.00 for a salad not meat, cold deli sandwich and 2 soups and one drink. It needs better management and better food and better acknowledgment of what's on the menu and offered. read more

I love Groucho's! The employees are nice and food is ready quickly. I haven't eaten in (I always get to-go) so I can only speak about the to-go experience. It's really easy to order and pay on the app then just go pick it up. The order is always correct and ready when I arrive! The STP is my favorite. read more

Thought I'd try Groucho's (first time) for take-out lunch. Maybe I just didn't order their best things. I ordered the reuben but really wanted it on a roll rather than rye bread--which they did for me. The bread was nearly stale and the sandwich was stingy on meat. Not on a par with Jason's or Schlotzsky's deli but that's just my opinion and they are not in Chapin. For the dear wife I ordered a tuna sandwich on a roll with lettuce and tomato and pickle. They don't have pickle slices so she got spears (actually their pickle spears are excellent). But her bread was also stale and the tuna was low quality dark meat--not albacore. On the plus side the staff was friendly and courteous in wearing masks during these times of Covid-19, the wait time was fast. But all-in-all I think I got a better sandwiches last time from Jersey Mikes. read more

I placed a to-go order with the Chapin location. I had to take this order to customers 20 minutes away. When I unpacked the food, one order was missing. I asked the girls up front if the order had been double checked for accuracy. I called the store and the person answering the phone did not seem to grasp the importance of my missing order. My partner had to go back to the store to pick it up where the girls seemed to be annoyed. Due to this, he missed valuable time with our customers. There was no offer to remove it from the bill or provide any remediation. I don't think I'll be back to the Grouchos in Chapin. read more

Customer service was great and speedy service was also good. But the sandwich itself for the price wasn't that good. Just a sandwich I could make at home. Ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was just ok nothing special. Not my favorite. And we ordered the corn beef thing it was a Ruben. Make sure you read the menu right. The menu has way to much going on. So o ordered off the wrong side. Guess I should of ordered from the specialty side. Definitely not worth the try. This was my first time eating here. I ended up eating only half the sandwich. But I had wanted to try it since I moved to chapin. Thinking it was more like a New York style deli. So wished it was a Ruben. read more

We've been eating at Grouchos for 20 years, and glad to have one in Chapin. I love the STP Dipper and the Formula 45 sauce!

Stopped here for to-go lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Upon walking into the restaurant, I noticed it is very outdated and bare. It kind of looks like an office that was turned into a restaurant with very little updates. It doesn't have a welcoming feeling and it almost too big. It was very slow, had 2 tables seated and a few to-go orders. We placed a fairly big order of about 5 sandwiches. I ordered the turkey/bacon club sandwich. The sandwich was actually pretty good and came with chips and a pickle. The chips were stale and not very good. I also ordered a sweet tea which was great. This place seems good for a quick inexpensive lunch to-go, but I'm not sure id order anything else on the menu besides what I did and I definitely would not dine in. read more

Pretty good sandwiches. I have eaten here twice, and was not overwhelmed, but was not disappointed either. I will come back because they are a local place, they are friendly, and the subs and sandwiches are as good or better than Subway. Also, more variety. read more

Groucho's has become an acquired taste for me as I am not from the area originally. Now, however, I crave their STP Dipper and I love the sauce it comes with. I used to turn up my nose at it because I've never liked that type of thing but it really makes the sandwich even better and is also good for dipping your chips into. The buns are so soft and don't take away from the flavors of the meat and cheese. I also like the crushed ice they use and their sweet tea is perfect! read more

Ordered baby sub, was supposed to be bologna ham and salami with provolone melted on it, got ham with some kinda weird coleslaw in it, no cheese and cold, office went and picked up the order and the box said baby sub , not very good sub, the roll wasn't bad and the chips were ok about like lays and the pickle spears were good read more

Went here for the 1st time today. The staff was very quick and pleasant but the food was just ok. The meat was fresh and good but there was a whole head of lettuce on my sandwich and it made it so big that it was impossible to eat. It's one thing to have a sandwich that is too big because of the meat but not lettuce. The chips were boring and kind of stale but the pickle spear was good. I probably won't go back. read more
