The concept for the food here is "part Greek, part Southern, all Carolina". From what I can see, most of the entrees are southern based, but the sides have that Mediterranean touch. So far, my favorite menu items here are the fried shrimps, which are super addicting. They are mini sized popcorn shrimps, but don't let that fool you because it's a punch of flavor. Nice crispy batter that's not too thick, juicy and bouncy little shrimps that pairs wonderfully with the tartar sauce. Another thing I loved was their fried flounder. Perfectly cooked every time. The flaky flesh of the fish inside of that crunchy crust just can't get much better. One last honorable mention is their fish sandwich, which is packed with Alaskan fish fillet and that yummy tartar sauce. I would be dismissive if I should not bring up the amazing service of this "fast food" restaurant. I see the servers cleaning the tables and chairs constantly every time I'm here while providing a friendly smiling face whenever they are nearby. They ask how my food was and take the trays away when I'm done. All other fast food chains should learn from Showmars. read more

Two of us ate dinner here tonight . My Greek salad was excellent with all items being fresh and tasty. My wife did not enjoy her macaroni and cheese, The chili I had was just okay and I was a bit disappointed that the restaurant did not have butter to offer for the pita bread. For a fast food Greek, they were good, but the atmosphere is definitely fast food. The staff were friendly and accommodating. My favorite was the Greek salad dressing which had more flavor than Zorba's and Grecian Garden. We ordered two Gyro platters. We substituted the fries with a Macaroni Salad. The flavor of the Macaroni Salad was dominated by the plentiful amount of Feta. The Gyros had a good flavor, but the meat was very dry. The pita was thick and fluffy. The Tzatziki sauce wasn't as flavorful as we are used to eating. We will go back and try other menu items as they offer quite a variety. read more

I've been going to Showmars for a couple of years now. The food is fantastic, they don't over-sweeten their tea, and the service is great. If you're looking for a nice quiet place to have some good greek /southern dishes, then you won't be disappointed here. The best Flounder Sandwich I've had in a long, long time. I got fries with it and my wife got salad. I admit I was very envious. The Greek Salad looked fresh and it was. The fact is that I have only two complaints. First, they could get a higher quality eating utensil. The fork especially is too flimsy, especially for an entree salad. No biggie, right? We visited Showmars on a weekday for a quick lunch because of a craving for Greek food and the great reviews. I ordered the Classic Chicken Pita and a side Greek salad with a drink. My husband ordered the Gyro Platter and a drink. We both found the tzatziki fantastic and among the best we've had. The model of Showmars makes you think it's fast food, but it's a sit-down restaurant. You walk up to the counter, order and pay for food, then you're seated and food is brought to you. They refill your drinks for you, get you things that you need, etc, just like a sit-down restaurant would. We found it odd that after ordering and receiving our food, when we asked for salad dressing the "waiter" said that it would be an additional cost ($0.50). I could understand that if the business model was different, but to order, pay, be seated, wait for food, THEN told that you had to pay extra for condiments seemed strange to me. The food was good but obviously premade. The pita bread was premade, the crinkle cut fries were premade, and the gyro meat wasn't anything special. We liked it well enough and it would satisfy a Greek food craving in a pinch, but it wasn't anything special and we wouldn't hurry to return. read more

Kitchen staff (I've never interacted with them) but you could hear them chatting, laughing and enjoying themselves, which is pretty cool and you could tell they know how to put together a tasty, fresh meal. What great food. A nice fresh pita with grilled chicken and the perfect amount of topping. The chicken was tasty and juicy. The salads were nice sized and do fresh with a nice mix of lettuce, onions cucumber and tomato. The mini chicken was a good size potion of freshly breaded chicken breast. Order was prepared as requested and hot. The portions were very good size and we are so pleased with this choice. Would recommend and would order again. This is a new go to! SHOWMARS (specifically Lexington SC location) is a great casual dining restaurant. The food is very good quality (WILD CAUGHT salmon, for example), and deliciously prepared. The staff is wonderful...friendly, very helpful but not intrusive. The restaurant AND bathrooms are ALWAYS very clean, which in my estimation, is an example of the cleanliness of the kitchen. Alex and his staff do a wonderful job preparing and serving up delicious food and hospitality. We love it so much, we visit several times a week. I highly recommend giving them a try. My chicken santorini was served fresh with a side Greek salad and the manager was very helpful with my specific order. It wasn't exactly bursting with flavor, but I was satisfied with it overall. I liked the tzakiki sauce. It was a littler thicker than I'm used to, but still good. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his old fashioned chilli burger and my sons thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. My oldest had The Showburger and my youngest had the Mac n' cheese small plate with a side of fruit. Everything was just enough and very filling. My oldest son even said his burger was the best burger he ever had! This is a late review. We ate there on Saturday July 22, 2023. They serve fast, healthy food. I had the grilled salmon with a salad, zucchini & yellow squash. I had another healthy side dish but forgot to include it in the picture. It was such a nice change from sandwich & fries. I got to eat real food with a fork! With less than an hour before closing, no one rushed us when they took our order or as we ate. Our waiter was a friendly young man . The place was bright & clean. We will definitely return to Showmars for meat served with cooked vegetables and/or a salad. My only complaint was that the tea was too sweet. read more

Excellent service, reasonable prices and reasonable decent food! I've been wanting to try this place for a while and I finally got the opportunity. It was worth it, A NC-based restaurant, it's fast-casual. The food is fresh, fast and tasty. The two main specialties are Greek and burgers. That's helpful when you are with others and want to find something that works for everyone. I had the Gyro plate, which was enough for two meals. It came with a fresh Greek salad. I should have asked for more feta, but the homemade dressing is good. The crinkle cut fries are nice, and the pita bread was fresh. My daughter had the chicken tenders, which were actually really good. I wanted her to get the burger so I could try it, but I guess I will have to come back again soon! You order at a counter but they bring you food and refills to your table and check up frequently so you don't have to get up. They gave a big portion of greek salad as well as pretty good sized salmon, all for under $15 after taxes & tip. The salad was fresh as can be but I do wish they cut their vegetables. I had to take time to cut my cucumbers, tomatoes & onions to smaller pieces to be able to eat. However it all tasted great & the pita bread was just the right blend of soft but firm enough to hold the weight of the Tzatziki sauce & salmonz The staff was very friendly & super attentive. Showmars is an out of the way place that deserves good reviews for food quality and service. Healthy eaters and those loving Mediterranean and Greek cuisine will love this place. We had a variety of food from chicken kabobs to salad to gyros and all was expertly prepared, tasty, and delivered to our table in a timely manner. The attendant was almost annoying as he came to the table every few minutes to see if we needed anything. It was nice to see the commitment to service and he definitely wanted to help. I didn't expect to walk into a counter service fast casual restaurant & walk out with a 5 review but here we are! The menu is perfect for a family with varied tastes- Greek isn't the entirety. My mom had a fried shrimp platter. My spouse had a gyro platter and I had the salmon platter. My salmon was perfectly cooked and served on a bed of (saffron?) rice. It was served with warm pita bread and tzatziki. I choose a Greek salad as well. The tzatziki wasn't the best I've ever had but it was good. The salad had large ribs of romaine in it and for that reason I wouldn't order it again. Just a personal preference as I don't like romaine ribs. Their iced tea was really good as it should be if your motto includes " southern" . The service was outstanding and I'm fairly critical of customer service. The restaurant, including the bathrooms, were spotless. Showmars is a definite return for me. Tip: if you're cold natured be ready. We were freezing. There's outdoor dining as well. read more
