My mom and I had a great tasting experience here! Each wine was paired with a specialty chocolate and chosen with exceptional care. The venue is small and cozy with a lot of daylight coming in from the front. They have a delicious Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (my favorites), but also some other nice offerings with a couple of dessert options. They even gave us a generous amount of extra wine when requested. A few moments after I walked in, I felt like I'd just walked into Cheers, reincarnated as an urban winery. I was surrounded by locals who seemed to all know each other. Either than or this is one super-friendly place. Since I didn't know what to get, I opted for a wine flight. The wine selection was limited, but still good none-the-less. My favorites were the 2018 Pinot Blanc and the 2015 Pinot Noir Select (just the regular, not the Encore). The man pouring was Dan, a little bit Cliff Claven, with a lot of Norm, and a dash of edgy Boston street cop just off his shift thrown in for good measure. The place itself was quaint and comfortable, the wine good, but the atmosphere and the people made it much more interesting, bumping up their points on my review scale. read more

We visited J Rallison Cellars after our visit to Olea Vineyards where the owners told us about Jared's wine. We were lucky enough to meet Jared during our visit, who's the owner and winemaker. We each had a flight and appreciated how friendly and casual everyone was. It seemed like we were the only non-regulars there but were welcomed into conversations as though we were. Another Yelper commented that their visit was like walking into Cheers and we totally echo that! We left with a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Sangiovese and are looking forward to enjoying them at home. We will definitely be back when we find ourselves in downtown Sherwood! read more

While Dan gives all the happy vibes to this adorable tasting room in downtown Sherwood, the wine just isn't my favorite. The Zinfandel was really quite good and we bought a bottle to share there and a bottle to take home. But the rest of the wines were just okay. The tasting room is absolutely adorable and very comfortable. It's definitely a cute spot that I'd suggest a drop by on but the wines aren't my taste so I couldn't recommend them. read more

Rallison cellars was an amazing experience for my friends and I this past weekend! Rachel the manager was beyond accommodating and made us feel so welcomed! We enjoyed the wine/the charcuterie board and all of us left with at least one bottle of wine. The wine was awesome. Got a chance to break out of the house now that businesses are opening up and went for some afternoon wine tasting at rallison cellars. It was an incredibly fun afternoon! The business in Sherwood have the block blocked off for outdoor street seating and the environment is super fun and most importantly very safe and clean! The beat part is the businesses are working together to provide food along with the wine. The teams at Rallison Cellars, 503uncorcked and Masons have really put together a special treat for us all! Some wines here are amazing and others miss the mark, they seem new to the game but the Rosé has issues with being refrigerated. Cute place, really good Pino Noirs and Malbecs. It's an solid winery if you are in the area and want a tasting, buying a bottle depends on what you like but for the price (40$ per bottle on average) I didn't think it was worth bringing any home. Dan is also a plus here, he is very friendly and nice! read more

We went to Rallison as part of our annual Gurlz Wine Whine Weekend. We're always looking for small production artisan wineries. Rallison Cellars did not disappoint. Unusually broad selection of whites. Lovely Pinots. Dan poured us some Albariño, even though it wasn't on the list. We all left well educated and with ample Tempranillo, Pinot, Albariño and, surprise, Pinot Gris. The Pinot Gris is remarkably interesting and not overly sweet! read more

Worst service I've ever received. Dan at the front was extremely rude to our group of 9. Said we needed to call ahead which we apologized for. One person came up after the group to get his second tasting and he threatened to cut him off because he drank his tasting more slowly than the rest. They were also out of 2-3 wines and when we asked about it he got angry, that he already told us they were out, which he hasn't told us. Update: After posting a one star review the owner came down to the shop and personally apologized. The owner, Jared, was very nice and stated that the person helping us could get grumpy at times. We've never left a review on any platform (we are both in restaurant management and just don't do it) but my wife and I agree that the team at Rallison Cellars deserves top recognition. Their reviews are what got us there in the first place. We are from out of town and visited on Saturday 10/17 and the place was packed. Despite the madhouse we were greeted immediately. We didn't have reservations but they accommodated us. I know first hand how hard it is to move around a seating chart, so that was impressive to start. Everyone was 6 feet apart and wearing masks or shields and we couldn't have felt safer. Rachael was our server and you wouldn't have known she had 6 other tables at the same time. It was like we were the only ones there. She was so knowledgeable, funny, and witty. She asked what kind of wine we like to drink and replied with, I have something perfect for you that you're going to love. She opened a special bottle of pinot noir just for us to taste (even decanted it) and she was right. DELISH! Everything we tasted was incredible. There was younger kid running around that deserves a high five because the behind the scene guys never get recognized - we didn't catch his name - he was bussing tables and running food, but a dirty dish never sat on our table for more than a few minutes. He also thanked us for coming as we walked away! We are impressed with the entire place. From start to finish it was an experience we won't forget. And we went home with some superb wine too!! All the wineries we visited this weekend were great but this one takes the cake. Thank you thank you thank you for making our day the best day of our trip. We will be back next time we're in Oregon. We love going to Rallison! It's a staple in our home and somewhere my husband and two kids and I always feel welcomed and well cared for. We love the wines, Dan's friendliness in the tasting room, and love that Jared holds making good wine for our Sherwood community while honoring his wine club members as a priority. 10/10 experience from start to finish. We arrived about an hour before close on a Sunday and were promptly addressed (maybe two other people in the tasting room). We chose to stand and chat with the Vintner, however, the entire place was cozy, comfortable and clean. My friend and I both did a tasting, which was well worth the time. We tasted a unique variety of local Oregon wines, which Dan (our vintner/wine guide) was very knowledgeable about. We personally knew a bit about wine ourselves but he was able to come in and fill us in about how/when/where the owner differs his wine from others and it was a beautiful tasting. Surprise at the top of Parrett Mountain. Our friends, who are members of the Rallison Wine Club, invited us to join them at the winery for a tasting. Wow, did we discover a gem. While most of Oregon's Pinot Noir is located along the Pacific Highway in the Willamette Valley, this winery is near the top of Parrett Mountain on Parrett Mountain Road. It's a very small operation with the goal of quality over quantity. They grow fruit on the property and also source fruit from Barron-Wahl down the hill and from HorseLeap above the Tualatin River. Their wines range from $27.00 to $45.00. If you join their wine club you get a 30% discount on their wines - a great deal. The winery also produces some very good Riesling and several sparkling wines but here's the big tip: Get some Pinot from their Laree Vineyard, it's just amazing. It seems a contradiction of terms to say a Pinot is a "big wine" but the Laree Pinot is big with lush fruit and a finish more like a good cabernet. One final note; the winery itself is small but spotless. Tastings are by appointment except during wine club events. Go find some Rallison right now. You won't be disappointed, just hooked like we are. read more
