Good wine, great views, fantastic service. I recently tasted at Blakeslee with a few wine club members. The excitement began during the drive up to the tasting room from the roadway, where incredible views across the valley took my breath away. The clear vistas on the fall day were gorgeous, with much of the Cascade Range in view. Once inside, we were greeted in a warm, bright space that felt comforting and familiar. There was football on, views galore, and plenty of fascinating Oregon history and wine country information - a true space for anyone! Mary was our server (I think), and she was very helpful for the entire journey. It was great to learn so much about the history of the land and the current owners. I enjoyed tasting the variety of wines produced on the property and nearby, and I definitely preferred the rosé blend and the Chardonnays. If you are a fan of Pinots, you will like them, too, but the aromas and flavors are slightly tamer than my preference for bright fruit and spice notes. We also ordered a charcuterie board, and the crew was very accommodating to all of our needs. We spent some time walking the grounds, too, and I can absolutely see myself returning to drink some rosé by the pool in summer.

Let me just say. I LOVE THIS PLACE! The Blakeslee's are wonderful people who have become good friends, and their staff is really do a nice job of taking care of there guests. The views - You can't beat it. It's beautiful here. And you can experience all from the chairs out on the hillside or from in their amazing tasting room, inclosed on cold and wet days with fireplace and all, or when the weather is nice, they push back the windows for a wonderful open air experience. I will fi d a picture or two and post it. The wine - All are great. Many award winning Pinot Noirs abd more make up there delightful selection. And If your lucky, you will be here on a warm summer day after Sheila makes her wine pops. Very refreshing and very tasty. Events - Adult Easter Egg Hunt. Find the Leprechaun, Polar Plunge, A Hawaiian luau and more. Oh, and there Christmas party is second to none. The beer - they always have a tasty local beer on tap

Sippin' on chardonnay and enjoying this view.

I had a few hours to kill before flying out of PDX and wanted to observe some more of this west coast beauty, so I looked up some wineries and settled on this one. The drive was gorgeous, parking is aplenty, the staff was super friendly and attentive. I was asked if I had a reservation (I did not) but was told to take a seat anywhere. I ordered the wine flight and a charcuterie board. Both were divine! I am not even a big fan of most of the wines listed but all of the ones I tried were amazing. The chardonnay was so buttery and delicious. I would have taken a few bottles home if I had room in my suitcase! Not to mention, I think everything was affordable and the ambiance was to die for!!

We came up on this place by accident and I'm so glad we did. The wine is outstanding, the property views are amazing and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. It's a very welcoming environment. Will absolutely be returning and bringing friends.

I'm so glad we stopped at Blakeslee. We were in the area and felt like doing a tasting. I would encourage getting a reservation as they did get busy and were near capacity. The views and the service were great. When it comes to wine, tastings are very subjective. We did find a couple vintages we enjoyed, so we got a couple bottles to bring home with us. Don't check your local stores, the only place to get this wine is at the winery. It's well worth the drive out. The tasting room is a fantastic space. Next time I need to check out the food options!

Wow. This place is amazing! The friendly staff was so welcoming. You could tell they enjoyed working for the Family who owns the Estate. The wine is excellent, the food was made with love, the views spectacular, and the Estate pets are extremely playful. Felix the cat (the Vineyard feline), lets everyone know he owns the place, and is also very welcoming. I will be back as soon as possible.

If your looking for a good place that has wine with a get scenery this is definitely it. They have indoor tasting and outdoor drinking. If your a vip member you can sit by a pool. They also have a live band that comes to perform every other week! Such a great great place to hang out when it's sunny! Definitely recommend!

Loved the views and the charcuterie board was nice. The board had cheese, crackers, chocolate, dried fruit. I really appreciated the assortment that complimented the wine. I really enjoy their wine as well. I feel like there's something for everyone there. My friends from out of town and I left with a few bottles. Make sure to call ahead of time to ensure they're open and make a reservation so you can get a table. They do get busy!

A tiny winery owned by a nice couple on a beautiful hilly property property producing high quality wines at very reasonable prices. We visited as a part of a private wine tour and were delighted by the warm hospitality and the quality wines. We started our tasting with the just released, refreshing Rose then moved inside for a taste of the oakey Chardonnay. Next we sat down by the infinity pool overlooking the valley and tasted three quality Pinot noir wines. After meeting the owners, we were treated to a a bonus taste of their unique white Pinot which was so delightful. Most all of their wine is sold direct to consumer and through their wine club. If you want something special, stop by and see the friendly folks here. You will be glad you did.

This was our first time at an actual vineyard and tasting room. We absolutely loved it especially with their amazing view from their tasting room. There's an option to sit outside overlooking the vineyard. Customer service was a huge plus and their business is very clean and all of their employees were vaccinated the day we were there. Will definitely be back when we are in Newberg.

Haven't even had a sip yet! Our waitress rubbed us the wrong way the scenic we walked in the door.

Terrible customer service, TINY pours, and felt unwelcome the entire time! Waitress was snarky, bold in asking for a tip, and generally unpleasant!

One of my favorite places to go and to bring friends and family that visit the area. The view is stunning, the wine is good. Plenty of places to sit (gazebo, inside patio, poolside patio, picnic tables, or bring your own picnic blanket). They allow outside food but usually has something small to snack on for purchase. I love the events they offer - adult Easter egg hunt, Kentucky Derby theme and watch party. They also had wine popsicles last year. Yes! You read that right, WINE POPSICLES. Perfect for how hot it was last year. My husband and I love their wine and looked at what the cost of being a member was. It's FREE! Basically, you sign up to buy 12 bottles a year. Simple enough! From then on all your tastings are free (and tastings are then free for up to 4 friends/family a year if you bring them with you). 10% off anything you buy and the best part is the wine pickup parties! Last summer there was a full luau with a roasted pig and live Hawaiian music. It was fantastic. The fall was a small masquerade ball with live owls and hawks you could see up close and talk to the trainers. This spring was a pizza and movie party in their newly finished inclosed gazebo with a warm cozy fireplace. The cost of all of that alone, makes me feel like we are getting free wine. Also, when you visit you will probably see Shela running around. She's the owner (and the wine named after her is the BEST!) She also does all the gardening and gets to know her members. Extremely sweet hostess!

This was a different wine tasting experience compared to the other wineries I have visited and it is not bad. This is a regular wine tasting where you are seated together with a group of people and learn about the wines. This was more of you were attended to for only you and your own party. As in you can try each wine at the tasting at youe own pace. We reserved the elite tasting, which is only $20 more than the regular tasting. The elite tasting show cases exclusive wines that I believe were more popular and more unique than what you wouls try for a regular tasting. What was served was definitely exquisite and worth paying for. They were smooth and rich to the taste. Only problem with this whole experience was reserving our tine. I reserved for an elite tasting via their website by submitting a form. I figured after a couple days I would hear back from them as I had left an email and phone number. No response. I then proceeded to email them to confirm my reservation and they did not receive my form. So they decided to write me down for a time that would best suit me. From there, I was convinced I had a reservation. Upon our arrival a few days later, we checked in at the front desk for our reserved time. Apparently we were not jotted down for the agreed allotted time. We had to wait a while for the staff to sort it out. Thankfully, after sorting, they decided to seat us immediately.

Outside view is beautiful. The photo doesn't do it justice.

Everyone knows you by name and I even received a personalized note from my server when I broke down and joined the club. The food prepared by Chef Brent is so yummy. We scheduled a tasting for 10a as their main event person happened to be getting married and we were glad they were able to accommodate us. Wine for Breakfast? Heck, it WAS 1p EDT so it worked out. Their tasting room wasn't necessarily elegant, but the glasses were all set up for us and we began promptly. It was a rainy morning and we did get to walk through one of the vineyards, eat some grapes from the vine, and hear about Chehalem. We also toured the winery with the tanks and workers being friendly and doing their thing as it was time to make the wine. The tasting was done very well and what was very interesting was we tried the same Chardonnay from a narrow glass and a wide glass and they tasted completely different. Who would have thunk it? The science of wine! We joined the club (they waive the tasting fees if you join) and our box just arrived (they ship to FL later so the heat doesn't ruin the wine), which made me write the review. I wish I knew about that before the great quarantine of 2020. Anyway, what an excellent experience from our host at Chehalem. They also have a tasting room in Downtown Newberg by the food trucks where the road splits. If we ever go back (we want to), we may stop to see what's new.

Walked in one day and was surprised to see how busy they were. Nothing too crazy, but the standing bar top was full so we hung out at the lower counter on the other side. The man pouring, Matt, was awesome. So friendly and funny, and handled the crowd well. Water and oyster crackers available as a palette cleanser. Their tasting menu and wines are SHOCKINGLY inexpensive. Maybe that's why I was so caught off guard at how good the wine was? He explained to us that they rent out their facilities and machines to other surrounding wineries which pays a lot of their overhead and therefore they don't need to charge absurd prices on their bottles. What a cool concept! Towards the end of our tasting, the crowd cleared out and we were the only ones left so Matt took us on a private tour around the whole facility. It was really awesome to see all the steps of the process, including the bottling/labeling machine which I had never seen before. Went into the barrel room too. The whole place is clean and nice. It was so fun to be shown around like that! He was so great. Even let us taste extra wines outside the tasting menu and a couple straight out of the tap on the holding tank! We bought a few bottles, how could you not when they're this cheap! The Pinot Gris stood out to me as it seemed much fruitier and juicier than what I've tasted before. We also loved the Maréchal Foch which they serve with a piece of dark chocolate, and the Port version of this as well! Sooo good. Thanks Matt and August cellars for giving us a great time! We will certainly be back!

Since the clay allows for a slow oxidation, the wine has softer flavors without the oak derived butter, vanilla and spice flavors.
