From our very first meeting, it was clear that Leo is deeply dedicated to his work. He told us that he only has one opportunity to do things right, and he truly lived up to that promise. Leo was compassionate, honest, and transparent throughout the entire process. He never attempted to upsell us or pressure us into unnecessary purchases. Instead, he asked about our budget and helped us find ways to stay within it. He even mentioned that we could purchase certain items elsewhere, though he often offered better prices himself. His integrity and empathy were evident in every interaction. Leo provided his personal cell phone number and responded promptly to every question or concern we had. Because my father's passing was unexpected, he first had to go through the medical examiner. During that time, Leo kept us updated regularly and contacted me immediately once my father arrived at the funeral home. We felt confident that my father was being cared for with the utmost respect and dignity. The wake and funeral services were beautifully arranged. Since my father was a Navy veteran, Leo ensured that he received full military honors. When the two representatives performing the flag ceremony did not fold the flag correctly, Leo personally offered to have it redone properly and delivered it to my mother's home a few days later -- a gesture that meant a great deal to our family. At the cemetery, a miscommunication caused confusion regarding the burial plot. While the issue was ultimately with the cemetery, Leo went above and beyond once again, offering to bring my father back to the funeral home until everything was resolved. His concern and advocacy stood in stark contrast to the cemetery's suggestion to "leave the vault out overnight." Ultimately, the cemetery resolved the issue by removing a tree that was in the way -- something we thought would take months -- but thanks to Leo's persistence, it was completed within a week. I cannot thank Leo and the staff at Gately Funeral Home enough for their compassion, professionalism, and attention to detail. They treated our family with kindness and my father with the respect he deserved. I wholeheartedly recommend Gately Funeral Home to anyone in need of funeral services. My Dad passed Jan 2025…read more Right now I'm currently homeless so I let my brothers talk to Keefe for services as my Dad wanted them to handle it. My Dad's wishes weren't even considered. He is not a dress up person and was supposed to be wearing something casual. They put him in a suit which was not what he wanted. On the day of the wake/funeral I arrived and none of the staff greeted me. Eventually when someone showed up it was to take my coat and then disappeared. When my brothers set it up we were supposed to have two of us do eulogies as well as a priest. They did a horrible job before the wake started and didn't introduce themselves or ask about the family. (Just ushered them in the room where my Dad was and I was already in there and spent the whole wake. When it came time for the eulogies and the priest, the priest was the only one who introduced himself and asked things about my Dad. The priest did an amazing job summing up my Dads life and blessing him. After that someone came in (Remember NOBODY from Keefe even introduced themselves.) came in and announced the service was over and to head outside for the procession to the cemetery. Then to make matters worse they didn't have the family members go first, they just waved everyone on. At the cemetery they didn't even tell everyone where to pull up and park. Again the person from Keefe just announced the priest was going to do a quick prayer and announced where we were going afterward. So unprofessional and I will never use or recommend this place to anyone. So unprofessional and uncaring. My Dads final day was horrible. Wish I could give zero stars.

As I approached the family, I was told to sit down as they were going to begin their services. This was the second time I attended Mackey with the same Funeral Director did this. Unacceptable and have never seen this done before in all my years. It is not like they have another service beginning. For this reason I would consider having my service at another funeral home No one should be turned away after waiting in line for over a half hour I can honestly say this was not done at two other wakes that I attended there but then again it was a different funeral director running it
