The top part of the deck, made from teak, is still fine, but all the rails (aside from the main supports) and bottom of the stairs were pine, so many of those parts needed replacement due to wood rot. Additionally, the slats that framed around the porch weren't attached properly, so Marcus took them all off and reattached them correctly and securely. He also removed an electrical outlet that wasn't working and capped off the wiring. The baseboards were also replaced with PVC. It was a full-day project, and these guys worked hard. I can't say enough for their professionalism--from the quality work they did (plus explaining everything to me), and beginning and ending the day with cordial words. Such politeness is not a give in these days. The day began with a friendly greeting and ended in the evening with, "Have a nice night," not to mention polite interactions throughout the day. They also cleaned up perfectly, removing all the old wood. Even though they went beyond what we discussed, and Marcus did the extra work (wooden slats that weren't attached properly and a piece of wood behind the stairs that was replaced with PVC which we hadn't talked about initially) Marcus stuck to his original estimate. ***I would recommend these guys without reservation.*** I will also add that their pricing was very fair with an estimate given ahead of time. I am fully on board with the contractor trope of "GOOD-FAST-CHEAP, You Pick 2", and this was going to have to be a FAST and GOOD job, so I was anticipating that it wasn't going to be CHEAP. I eventually settled on Buck Remodeling as they could get out to the location quickly- as in day or days, instead or weeks or month. The price was $1,000 to patch the roof in an emergency fashion and I was more than happy with the results. When called, he says it's the wrong number. When someone goes to his address, they are told he doesn't live there. John is not listed as State certified or having any insurance or bonding. In my case, he responded to complaints via e-mail with reasons why he didn't purchase material or do the jobs, however he never made any effort to actually do the work or refund my money. He also damaged my J channels instead of doing the small gutter modification and sealing he was paid to do. Because John's "work" was leaking 60 gal. during the first rain after HIS "repair" I had to pay a roofer to actually solve the very small problem. No one could figure out what John was attempting to do up there. They could see nothing of any benefit at all. I would have to give John Luedke a rating of ZERO. I would not trust him with a pooper scooper. 00000.

I got a quote and was…read moreassured by the person who came out to my house that they would be respectful of my budget and would come up with a quote based on what services I needed prioritized. We agreed on a plan and budget, which included ripping up carpet and laying down LVP flooring, along with drywall repair, paint and installing fans in the bathrooms and repairing any drywall that was damaged as a result of that installation. Before the project started, I asked if the baseboards would need to be removed and was told no. During the process of ripping up the carpet, they did in fact have to remove the baseboards, which was not discussed with me, and I was told they would do their best to keep that extra expense "at cost" and "as close to our original quote as possible." Also, hardwood floors were discovered. I had a conversation with them about what it would mean to refinish the hardwood floors instead of laying LVP and I was told it would save me money. They sent me a "change order" for this, which was roughly $1000 less than my final balance due, so it seemed I was saving $1000. It was an ADDITIONAL 5k. This was not clarified for me until after that part of the project was finished. The entire scope of my project was not complete, because I had to ask them to stop working on the house due to already exceeding my budget, repeated delays, confusion about whether they were hiring an electrician for part of the project, and unfinished work. While I was waiting for clarification on the additional 5K charge, the owner reached out to me to have a conversation about the project - he left a voicemail which I returned. He never tried to call me again. After several conversations with JB, I was told they would refund the cost of the baseboard (their mistake) but they did not offer to make any other adjustments to my total due for work that was completed. I can only come to the conclusion that I was deliberately misled. I agreed to hire them because I wanted to get all of my projects completed at once to save time. I am left with unfinished work that exceeded my budget by a few thousand dollars, and at square one with my bathroom fans and and other finishing work that needs to be done.

We invested in seamless gutters that were supposed to be customized and properly secured to our building, but that is not at all what we received. Community Roofing did not properly fasten the gutters to the fascia, so they are falling off of the building. In some sections, Community Roofing sloped the gutters toward our house instead of the downspouts, creating water intrusion problems. The shingles are already starting to look shabby and some have nails starting to protrude. The customer service has been even worse than the workmanship. We reached out to Community Roofing repeatedly and they just blew us off.
