I was heartbroken -- not just because I missed the chance to document my pregnancy, but because everything felt so overwhelming at the time. But what truly blew me away was the kindness and care Sophie showed. She continued to check in on me and my baby as time went on including throughout our NICU journey. A year later, I reached back out to book a baby session -- and it turned out to be even more special. Not only did I finally get the experience and memories that I'd dreamed of, but I got to share it with my daughter who is now healthy, thriving, and full of life. The whole process was seamless. Michael was great to work with when it came to scheduling and confirming everything, and the building was easy to find. I took his advice and had the Uber go to the building across the street and it worked like a charm. Dapheney and Philipp were so wonderful when it came to hair and makeup. I felt gorgeous and just told them to do their thing based on what they thought would look best. (And as a bonus, I got to look hot when seeing a Broadway show that night.) I felt like an old Hollywood screen siren. Raya was professional and INCREDIBLE. I used some of her costumes and she helped me feel way more comfortable than I ever thought I could in my skin. She knew the right lighting and angles to bring out my best features, and did I mention it was so FUN? I didn't know I could pose like that. I was able to see all the photos within a day and was blown away by her skill. My boyfriend was so impressed too and had a hard time choosing his favorites because there were so many good ones. Responsive, attentive, creative: all these words can be used to describe her. To start, we made an appointment over the phone and her instructions for how to get to her studio and how the service were clear and concise. Furthermore, I was very confident + comfortable with her attention to details re: COVID19. Everything was very clean and we kept both our masks on until the inevitable photos started being taken. What I found most helpful was her advice on structurally creating flattering conditions and also on what kinds of clothing/hair/makeup to prepare for the event while still being respectful and mindful of the client's tastes. For instance, I immediately just assumed since these photos were professional in nature, that a black blouse would be ideal. She gently advised me that actually wearing something with a bit more color to it would be even more flattering, make me look friendlier, and overall convey more personality in the photo. I was surprised to hear that advice but she is the pro, not me, so we both ran with the idea and I brought a few options. Boy was she right! The end product photos were a HUGE, MASSIVE, MONSTROUSLY large improvement over the unflattering, generic, poorly lit photos my company had been using and advertising with. It was literally a night and day process in terms of quality and service. She absolutely nailed it. Priced well for the market and attentive as can be, I could not recommend her more. Room was set up and i took some full body photos and some half body. They sent me the link to all my photos right away, i will be downloading them all tomorrow as it was a crazy weekend. The day of the wedding, Adena and her second photographer Laura did a fantastic job of keeping everything running smoothly and on schedule. From the getting ready pictures to the couple and wedding party pictures to the family portraits, Adena did a great job of corralling so many people to efficiently get the shot. I just felt like I was in really good hands the entire time, especially given that the weather forecast introduced some unpredictability to the day. Despite that, Adena always had a plan and had an amazing eye for getting some incredible shots - sometimes planned and sometimes impromptu.
