When she washed my hair, she even gave me a little head massage, which is something I rarely get at salons, and it made the experience feel extra special. She has such a sweet and gentle personality, and even though she's young, she carries herself with so much professionalism and kindness. I was in the area for my cousin's high school graduation. My cousin wanted to get her hair done for Prom, and found this place on her own through internet searches. She made a reservation based on good reviews she read. We got there a bit early and they got her in right away. She showed her stylist a photo of the kind of hairstyle she wanted, which was braids in the front connecting to a bun in the back (I'm doing a poor job of describing it, but it's a fairly simple style). The stylist started doing something, then undid it because it didn't look right, then tried something else again, and was clearly struggling a bit with my cousin's Asian hair (very straight and sleek). I don't blame her for this, since our hair texture can be tricky to work with if you don't have a lot of experience with it. After about half an hour of this she asked a senior stylist for help, which I thought was very appropriate. But then the senior stylist said to my cousin, "You need to make up your mind about what you want to do, because we can't be trying a million different styles. We're wasting a lot of time." I had been watching the whole time from the waiting area, and her attitude and tone of voice with my cousin made me really angry because she was trying to blame the problem on my 17yo cousin. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to make the situation worse by making them mad, thereby risking them messing up my cousin's hair. The senior stylist did end up making it work out and the final hairstyle looked good (hence the 4 stars), but her attitude the whole time trying to make my cousin feel like she had done something wrong left a bitter taste in both our mouths.

I had gone to another salon a few times for a root touch up, it took a few visits before I realized they were using a level 1 black on my level 4 brown hair, and it was starting to look like I was wearing a wig. Marie managed not only to lighten everything back up but did the most amazing highlighting/melting (I don't know the proper terms for it) and I had the most amazing hair in my life and no damage or fried pieces. I don't wear makeup on normal basis, I have had it done by many many different people and brands throughout my life. I have never had someone be able to do it in such a way that I still felt like myself but an absolutely flawless version that didn't smear, run, or wipe off on things or feel thick and heavy. It also lasted perfectly for more than 15 hours. My mother who hates makeup was so impressed and loved it so much she has had her makeup done twice now! (picture posted) I also tried her eyelash extensions which are absolutely fabulous. Taisha, she does it all as well, but she was key when I couldn't really decide on what I wanted to do with my hair for the wedding. With a couple questions and a few photos of completely different styles I liked, she managed to magically put together the perfect combination of everything I liked into one beautiful perfect hair style. For starters.. I needed a hair cut. Badly. At this point, it was almost a year if not longer since…read moremy last cut. I used to be one of those people that insists that it's cheaper to do my own hair. Notice I said "used to be". Normally I'd bleach my hair at home, color it every couple weeks or month depending on what mood I was in. At one point, I even had dreadlocks. Which over the years & in the end.. took a nasty toll on my hair. I finally decided to let it be healthier & try to better my ways. This being, letting a professional handle it. Anyways, my cousin had told me about this salon - she has been coming here for a long time. I reached out to Tiffany for a consultation. Although embarrassed, I told her about all of my past & recent hair mistakes. I did want some coloring done - my hair was covered in dark box dye with some bright red underneath it somewhere. I knew my hair was damaged, but as a priority, still needed a cut regardless. She helped me make an appointment to visit as soon as possible. On arrival, I was greeted by her assistant Madie. Super nice & smiley - which I loved. She guided me to the chair & put my cape on. She even offered me a beverage. I was already loving this place. Tiffany greeted me shortly after - also, super nice & friendly. At this moment, I loved everyone's personalities. Tiffany cut my hair & Madie had washed and styled it. Both of the ladies were very informative & explained every step they did along the way. I left with a fresh do & an appointment for color! About a week later, I returned for color. A fresh balayage. Tiffany knew about the dark box dye & underlying red color on my hair. We went over a few photos I had picked out. Dissected them together, figuring out what would work best for me. I went into this journey knowing that we might not be able to lift my hair to be as light as I picked out - I was okay with that. I really appreciated the time they put into helping me understand everything. Madie & Tiffany both worked on my hair as a team & conquered it. In the end, with a few processes and treatments later.. we were able to get a fall inspired color (much lighter than anticipated). We named it "pumpkin chai". In the future, I can return to have it lightened further. For now & for fall tho.. I'm gonna leave it be. I'm very happy with my experiences at Vivid. Their knowledge and expertise is far beyond other salons. They're constantly furthering their skills whenever possible. Which is super important to me. Staying on top of current trends, colors or processes - is how you stay the best! I would recommend anyone to give them shot.
