I don't come here nearly as much as I should. A small and charming tea focused cafe and store. This place is a dream for any tea enthusiast. They have a big menu of different teas to try. The walls are lined with loose leaf teas on one side and different tea kettles and cups on the other. All for purchase. As soon as you enter you are met with a pleasant aroma of tea and florals. The staff is very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable. Don't be afraid to ask questions. For any tea newbie this store could be a little overwhelming. But they got your back. A warm and relaxing atmosphere that I love to sit and work on my laptop or read a book in.

Overall, I highly recommend trying J-Tea, but expect to pay a premium price for premium tea.

Took a butter croissant as well as the ham and Gruyère cheese croissant, heated, for later. I think the server name was Lindsay and she was wonderfully understanding and helpful with the dilemma of which croissants to select. This location is small but has some excellent stuff. I only came to get a sandwich but also got a strawberry macaron for my kiddo since she loves them. I got the Foxtrot sandwich, and I have to say it's one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time. I wasn't sure I'd like the basil-hazelnut pesto--I don't like filberts--but you couldn't actually taste that signature hazelnut flavor. It was also really filling, and I only ate half of it in that sitting. I was really sad when I realized after I left Eugene that I left the second half in my sister's refrigerator. They usually make it with focaccia, but they'd run out the afternoon I stopped in so I chose sourdough instead and you know, I'd probably ask for it on sourdough again instead of the focaccia. An update, since I started this review in April 2026 and hadn't posted it yet as of August 2026 (but will today!): I had the summer BLT and it was delicious. It comes with micro greens as a side by default, but I paid extra for the frites instead. It was a very filling meal, and I'm glad I made it my choice this time! My sister got the fish and chips, which she wasn't as happy with, so next time she'll stick to the steak frites. Service was great. They have some nice quality foods for sale in the place--not a huge bit of merchandise, but a good selection. They also apparently have a happy hour daily from 3-5 with specials. There's a lot of seating, and on the nice days they have quite a few tables outside. Parking is a little trickier. There's retail on the first floor, but a few flors of apartments above, so the parking lot is split in half between the apartments and the restaurants. It took a few minutes and a few spins around the lot (plus checking street availability) but I got lucky with a space. But there's lots of residential streets around so you'll be able to find parking somewhere.

The store is clean and well lit with a huge window wall and outside seating available in a very nice neighborhood. Hmmm... might be okay after all... but it does smell good.. Looking over the menu I see food unfamiliar to the average country carnivore. I started with a London Fog tea and they nailed it. It came out perfect. I then opted for The Butte. It came hot and steamy with the sriracha aioli adding the perfect amount of spice heat and flavor. The bread was fresh, the onions caramelized and the flavors blended very well. I found this to be an incredibly good sandwich, especially considering there was no meat. Huh, imagine that.... Yea, I would order it again The only downside is that the door remains open and the flies are here. A fan over the door blowing out would solve that.. The name 16 Tons is indeed a shoutout to the song from Tennessee Ernie Ford, one of my favorites.

A few mornings my friends got up earlier than me and brought back coffee from here, it was excellent. On our final day in town we decided on here for breakfast and I had one of the best egg sandwiches of my life. They're all made to order, and was made with perfection. But you do have to be patient as it can be a busy spot. I also loved that this place turns into a beer bar and music venue at night. Kind of a business that changes throughout the day.

Ordered a matcha ($5) and half order of sandwich ($8) with ham, fresh mozzarella, arugula, and the secret ingredient: apricot jam. Picked up a banana bc it's just $.50, too. The berry scone was delicious and skillfully baked. What caught my attention was the display of eye-catching tarot cards on sale, along with pieces of Paulo Santo to clear. A selection of unique decks that have been curated by the owner. A 3-card reading is also just $8 by a very gifted and clairvoyant psychic and medium: she's experienced and incredibly clear. Highly recommend getting a read. Tables are filled but the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable to work; there is also a couched sitting area at the other end of the store. They have a wall to celebrate canine friends, too. A clear sense of welcoming and hospitality permeates. Glad for such a community centric corner cafe.
