Long story short, I needed a new windshield on my Mini Cooper and every place I called said that nobody had the right windshield in stock and the earliest anybody would do it was the next day. Jose deserves a medal! I first worked with him when I needed to replace my windshield. He quoted me $200 less than Safelite and got me IN THE SAME DAY and he came to my place. Safelite said they couldn't get me in until 3 weeks later. The second time I worked with him was a few weeks later when someone smashed my window and stole my purse. I really was stressed out, but again Jose came the day of. It doesn't seem like a big deal, but I called him at 4PM and he came to my place at a 5PM on a FRIDAY. This man is a saint. Called Jose in something of a panic, my car was broken into on Sunday. Smashed the passenger side window completely and stole my purse!!! No one would come out on a Sunday, and the first few not after 3:30 on weekdays. (I do understand that they want their employees back to the shop by 5:00. Called around after the recent hail storm in San Antonio to find a place to get my boyfriend's destroyed windshield replaced, and after finding everything was booked in SA for a month, decided to try Austin. Called and got an end-of-day Saturday appointment at J1, and planned the whole weekend around it. Showed up and called to find the guy, and he texted back he'd have to cancel, sorry he didn't let us know sooner. I had a crystally residue on my Jeep Wrangler winsdshield that obstructed my vision in the direct sunlight - very dangerous on 290W at dusk. I assumed it was tree sap, but after a year of failed solutions, my only explanation was that it was industrial paint carried over by the wind from a nearby construction site - I noticed it around the time I was parked near one. Time for replacement. I callled the usual suspects (Safelite, Binswanger) and no one could do business without an appointment or other red tape. A starburst crack in my windshield that quickly became a monstrosity due to the fluctuating weather in Austin this week. Called my insurance and found out my deductible was $400. Safelite which is still fantastic gave me a quote of $340. I started shopping around the area and found J1 Auto. Good reviews and close to me. Gave them a call and received a quote that was definitely more my speed of being frugal. Called at lunch time and they come out to me at 3:30. Now I have a complete windshield without the crack. Jose the technician was great, friendly, and professional. Replaced the stickers on the inside and let me know to wait 24 hours before removing the tape and car washes. I gave him another number to call for the gate upon arriving and he repeated it back to me. Also, my girlfriend waited and called him, but no response. To use the vulger language that he displayed on my girlfriends voicemail was EXTREMELY INAPPROPRIATE. I called him because he had one of the best records of all his competators, not to send him on a wild goose chase. To do business with this company, I will not or ever refer anyone.
