We always go to the Juice Bar for ice cream when visiting Nantucket, but gave this place a try last night and WOW! The peanut butter pie ice cream was amaaaazing. Every bite had a chunk, it was creamy and full of peanut butter flavor. We smelled the chocolate waffle cones earlier in the day when they were making them and they were good but didn't really taste much like chocolate. Next time will do regular. I also got a cappuccino and it was one of the best I've had-seriously! This place is a hidden gem- both times we went we didn't have to wait in line. Highly recommend! read more

Decent place to stop in Nantucket. I think they may be known more for ice cream. My son had a blueberry muffin and my husband had a croissant and yogurt parfait. I had an everything bagel with egg and cheese. The egg and cheese bagel ended up somehow projectile squirting yolk everywhere on the first bite. It was kind of crazy how it managed to get all over my coat, jeans, shirt, and even my shoes. Bagels with egg and cheese are kind of my go to everywhere I go and I can honestly say nothing like this has ever happened. It was kind of ridiculous lol. My perfect egg and cheese sandwich has fluffy eggs and gooey cheese which is what I'm used to but as I said this is an ice cream shop. A really expensive one. Having said this the staff were really nice about it, and washed my coat for me and offered me a stain spray. They even offered to wash my shirt and jeans if I come back later. We will probably come back for the ice cream since they were so kind and they have a really cute backstory, but for ice cream not breakfast. read more

OMG this was my favorite coffee shop from my entire Cape trip. The best iced coffee that I've ever had I got from here. It was perfectly made and truly, immaculate. I don't know how else to describe it but it is something even weeks later I am still thinking about. Cute shop with all the nantucket charm. When The Juice Bar line is super long, Jack & Charlie's is less long, but the line is still there. But you know what? The ice cream is just as good and the line goes quickly. Unlike the Juice Bar, Jack & Charlie's has a little courtyard with seating too. The cherry blossom ice cream on a cone was a huge serving and honestly, some of the more delicious ice cream I've had in a minute. Not cheap, but Nantucket and again, the single scoop was so big. My friend says the coconut ice cream is the absolute best if you're a coconut fan. They also sell acai bowls, smoothies and I'm sure other savory items, but I can only speak to the ice cream which is a must do. The individual who served us the ice cream wasn't super friendly and seemed like they wanted to get people in and out. The egg sandwich was so hot and cooked perfectly on a grilled Bagel, but they also offered a giant English muffin. We had so good coffee drinks as we were told the coffee was very good and roasted locally. We had lattes and a yummy iced almond matcha, made perfectly. It was fun sitting on the patio enjoying some people watching. We liked it so much we went back later that afternoon for ice cream. I was happy to see that they have a dairy-free/vegan option, so I had to go with the vegan vanilla (in a waffle cone, couldn't help myself). The ice cream itself was okay, I've had better both taste and texture-wise, but it was still a nice treat on a summer evening after dinner. We also had a huge Acai bowl and the coffee drink selection was huge from Cortado's, Flat White's, cold foam, Chai, but the Strawberry Organic Matcha was my favorite and I went back every morning to get one. My spouse got an affogato one afternoon - espresso over ice cream, what a treat that was. Service definitely needs to be improved! First of all I approach the counter, look at the board to the left that says some flavors are out, ask the blonde woman with glasses behind the counter if they have chocolate, she refers me to the board to the left. Then I ask the price, she refers me to another board above over the counter. Then she finally takes my order, I pay, then I stand there, and stand there some more while she chats with a male customer about how good the bread she made was, how much he liked it, and oh she should make some more. Then she goes over and starts wiping the coffee machine down, then she chats with the male customers girlfriend about how nice the weather is, how she got sunburned, how she did not expect to be wearing her black skimpy outfit today. Then she goes and starts wiping the counters down around the ice cream. Then she decides to make my $15 ice cream cone. Really!! I would probably give this a 1.5 star. Don't come here for coffee. We only came here because most of the coffee shops were closed by 5. The iced latte was probably one of the worst I have ever had. It was a cup of iced milk. We ordered the medium so that we could get 2 shots of espresso versus 1 (in the small). It tasted like 1/2 a shot. I would have thought it had none if the milk wasn't light light brown. The girl making it was new and had never done it before, so a guy was helping her. She should probably be trained in advance. The cashier was not really friendly at all and she had no idea what "how many shots are in a 16oz latte?" meant. I had to ask a multiple times and say "espresso shots" before she understood. No smile, no welcome apology for the super long wait. Really wasn't a great experience. Not sure about their ice cream. read more
