Clockwise from the top - salmon, tuna special, and steak. All the accompaniments were fresh and delicious

straight wharf bar grill is my favorite dining spot on Nantucket. Come for apps and dessert or dinner and dessert and its near impossible that you'll leave disappointed. Note the common theme...the desserts are spectacular; the 2024 strawberry shortcake posset is (still) one of the most memorable things I ate last year. It is essential that you head over early, they open at 5:30, because once the seats fill up you're going to be waiting a long time. Additionally, if you sit on the patio the people watching is 10/10 thanks to the Gazebo and folks coming and going to the ferry.

Bluefish

We heard a lot of hype about this place. They don't take reservations and there is a line down the street. We showed up when they opened and was seated quickly. The service is attentive and the food comes timely. The swordfish was cooked beautifully. We did feel in need more seasoning but the charred grill flavor is pronounced. The whipped feta was delicious the pillow bread and ztar spices were foward and matched the salty, creamy dip. The bluefish was good. I thought it could use more smoke and salt because the parmesan crackers overpowered it. Just eat it with the table bread which is nice and fluffy.

Candlelight dinner so it's pretty dark. Beautiful restaurant, food and service were good. Not our favorite menu but worth the experience.

We had a reservation for 8:30, but were not seated until closer to 9:10, which was a little disappointing. Thankfully, the service and food made up for the wait. Our server was knowledgeable and kind. The food was amazing, and my entire family has been talking about how great it was since we left! While it was a little loud, it was still beautiful and intimate. They were able to accommodate some of our picky eaters with ease. We will definitely be back!

Lobster roll with onion rings and rosé

Day trip from Provincetown, MA -- jumped the Hy-Line ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket and steps off the boat stumbled into this GEM. Bounty of seafood and fresh fish and sandwiches--- we had the lobster roll and fried fish sandwich. With onion rings and fries -- light, crisp -- fresh -- complements with the Peyrassol rosé. Staff and service were friendly and wonderful! Will be back and highly recommend!

We had a beautiful meal here. Presentation, flavor, service and ambiance were all excellent, and we appreciated the flexibility of their fixe prix menu where you could choose appetizer or meal portions for both starters and entrees (sometimes with supplemental pricing). We were also pleased with the gorgeous view from the back patio. We hadn't even requested outdoor seating and were delighted to see a rainbow appear during dessert. Although I have no negative comments at all, this is a case of expectation vs. reality. I expected to be over-the-moon with this special dinner, but will reluctantly admit that nothing especially stood out as very memorable. We enjoyed the food very much while we were there, but it just didn't make the lasting impression I need for 5 stars.

There was a cute market attached although it was closed when we stopped in, or at least no one was over there. Service was friendly and we were seated inside nearly immediately. The chowder was so delicious, my son nearly licked the bowl. The lobster roll and salmon were both equally delicious and so friendly. Tables are bit cramped - me and another poor woman literally kept hitting each other with our elbows lol, but that's the price you get for being seated quickly! Wonderful experience here, and order the lobster roll!

Unfortunately the outdoor seating was booked (party of 5) so we sat indoors. It was quite busy for dinner. The menu is simple and just right. We ordered SO much food! The clam chowder was too watery for my taste. I'm a fan of thick hearty New England style clam chowder. I liked the onion rings with caviar but the batter took on most of the flavor. Caesar salad had a little twist: no croutons and topped with anchovies. It was yummy. Fish tacos were a hit; we ordered fried instead of grilled. The warm lobster rolls were delicious. I avoid gluten where I can so I got the fish sandwich without a bun. It was crispy on the outside, flaky and soft inside. Coleslaw made it whole. The rosemary fries and cornbread as sides were addicting! Key lime dessert was meh. It was busy but we got the attention we needed. The staff was friendly and had smiles on their faces. Definitely good for fried seafood!!!

A few years ago, someone offered to buy my parking space for $500. (I declined.) There's often live music. (Check local publications or their website for up-to-date schedules.) There are often a number of food trucks present. On our recent visit, we had oysters from Hang Ten (enormous, meaty and sweet, but shucked with a ton of shell shards); tacos, guac and nachos from Millie's; and pizza from Eat Fire Pizza. And of course we had a number of decent beers on tap from Cisco Brewers. They seem to tend towards lightness, minimal hoppiness: good summer brews for warm weather. It's family friendly -- including canine members. Our pup is a seasoned New Yorker and accustomed to crowds, but even she seemed a little frazzled by the press of people at times.

We got there fairly early but the first band had already started, and the area under the tent was already full. We got some drinks, checked out the space and eventually we were able to snag some chairs under the tent. The outside beer area had alcohol drinks as well. 2 of us had tequila drinks, and 2 tried the beers. We were all really happy with our choices. All of the food there came from food trucks, and there were a lot of random vendors, which made it a fun, unique experience! All of our food and drinks were great. I also bought a few hats- the hat selection was really good from the band and the brewery. They also had a shop along with the other vendors who were set up. We stayed longer than expected- the first band (Grateful Dead cover band) was amazing, so we stayed to check out the second band (who were really good also). We eventually gave up our seats under the tent to some very happy people! We will definitely go back to the Cisco brewery the next time we're in Nantucket- it was a great experience all around! Everyone we encountered- whether they worked there, or weee there for fun were very nice and friendly. There was a dance area in front of the stage and people definitely used it - so there was great people watching in a super fun setting!

Service was very attentive and informative, and food recommendations were spot on. The special salad of spinach, goat cheese, strawberries and tomatoes was divine - one of the best starter salads ever! Truly one of the best desserts ever!! Served with fresh berries and a large cookie. Overall, a great dining experience, albeit a bit on the expensive side. With each one they asked how the burger should be cooked. Two ordered them rare and medium rare. All 4 came out well done. They did take the two back and remade them. In addition, one ordered hers with a salad instead of fries. They did take it back without offering to just bring out an extra salad and leave what was there. Our server was good , but the kitchen did not pay attention to detail. Also, the buns are monstrous on the burgers, but they aren't practical and make them hard to eat. Tends to a lot of wasted bread. On the bright side, I had the tuna nicoise, and it was very good. I would definitely get it again. We were visiting local relatives. We hope to go back with them on a future visit but hope to have a better experience.
