Our server, Danny, was fantastic! He took great care of all my food issues, including Celiac and a severe allergy to fish and seafood. He knew the menu really well and made me feel completely comfortable--not like I was being a "difficult" customer because of my food restrictions. Danny was also incredibly personable and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. All of the other servers who brought out our food were very friendly as well. I was really happy with my meal and, most importantly, felt confident that my dietary needs were being taken seriously. Great job, Danny! read more

I dined here for a team lunch during the holiday season. We were a large group and the staff were great - very friendly and accommodating. All of our food came out at the same time so there wasn't a big wait to get everyone's meal. I had the OG Chicken Fried Chicken which was a very big portion and delicious. This dish could be shared between two people. The run run donkey cocktail came in a funny donkey mug and sweet without being overpowering .I'm very happy with my recent visit and would visit here again. read more

Greeting staff were great and seated us immediately in a nice booth. The appetizer was excellent and set us up for the meal. We had wine with the main course which enhanced the food. I had a couple seminars to conduct today in Burlington. Afterwards I had lunch nearby at Jack Astor's. I sat in the dining room side. I ordered what I always order at Jack Astor's ... Chicken Parmigiana. It was really good! The tomato sauce on the chicken was chunky and a bit spicy, which was a nice surprise. Needless to say, I cleaned my plate off! Holy smoke bbq burger was juicy and satisfied my burger craving. Fries were also thin and crispy. I enjoyed the food very much. The chicken clubhouse was more of a sandwich than the normal double decker clubhouses. It was quite small and not filling. Not worth it imo. Guinness was Guinness. My ceaser was super watered down, wouldn't get that again here. Overall it's jack astors. They have been around for so long and always a decent place to go. read more

My wife and I visited yesterday between 5-7pm. The service and food were amazing. Our server was professional, courteous, and did his best to accommodate my lactose intolerance. I believe his name was Danny! I ordered their Chipotle Bacon Burger and my wife chose the Mushroom Truffle Burger. You can't go wrong with either, both were juicy and had a great mix of flavours. We don't normally go to Jack Astor's since we have had a few bad experiences at other locations in Mississauga. This was our first time at this location and it was great. Highly recommend a visit for a nice dinner or if you just want to go for drinks with friends. read more

Not too bad for a casual sit down but, the high prices do not reflect the quality of the food served. I had the double deluxe cheeseburger with a side of fries. The fries were salted well and overall, tasty. However, you know you're being cheated when you can count the fries on your plate..As for the burger, it was cooked well. Not burnt or anything, which is nice. The flavour I was looking for, quite frankly was not there. In fact, there was no flavour at all, aside from the sharp onion taste. I'll try again in a couple months and see if anything changes. read more

Snack sized pasta for 25$, I feel robbed. Absolutely disgusted by the exploitation this company is conducting with some of their dishes. I was delivered a kid's menu sized chicken parm. 3oz of pasta. This is also across all Jack Astor's. Clearly corporate are clowns. This Jack's has by far the best bartender in Burlington and a wait staff that is second to none. It's where we have been ending our week for the last 5 years and we have yet to encounter a staff member who was anything but friendly and attentive. They have a great selection of beers on tap or by the bottle and a knowledgeable bar staff who is ready to recommend something to satisfy your tastebuds and quench your thirst. The food quality is top notch and the selection is good (I do miss their pizzas). In a world of declining service and quality this restaurant is a welcomed exception. read more

I've been to this Jack Astors a few times. It's less busy than other locations so the service is fast. For a chain restaurant, the food was as expected. I ordered the Ahi Tuna bowl and it was a perfect amount of food - not too much. My friend and I also ordered the fish bowls to drink. They're expensive and way too sugary, but you get what you order. I would definitely recommend sharing though. One is enough for two or even three people. read more

The food and atmosphere here is nothing special for a local sports bar chain, but the service we had here made our trip memorable. If you're in the area, this is probably the most fun place to grab a bite and chill out. The food is seriously overpriced (like most of the GTA, so I guess that really shouldn't be a factor) but the servings are big. My boyfriend was between the chicken fingers and the chicken dippers, and we were told the fingers are much better and made really well in-house. They were great, so that was a much appreciated recommendation! I grabbed the garlic bread as a snack, which was really good too, and not overly buttery or garlicky, so it would be a great app for a larger group, too. Our bartender was super nice, and helped me with a specific beer recommendation and let me try a couple samples since I'm new to Ontario beers. He was really friendly and enthusiastic, and was really attentive to us at the bar. Honestly, the bartender who served us was the highlight of this whole restaurant. The bar is fun and you can watch anything you want. There are like 30 TVs. I got mad at my man for not listening to me, and he responded, "How can you expect me to when we're sitting in the ADD room?" Valid point. read more

The veggie burgers were quite tasty and the side caesar salads were good, albeit a bit on the small side. Service was good --- not great, but good. I've been to this Jack Astors a number of times in Burlington and can say it's quite a nice location based on the other ones I've visited in Southern Ontario. Every time I've gone I've been able to get a seat right away or within a few minutes. It's staff are also attentive and the food has always come out in time and tasted the way it's should. I've never had any major problems here so far. If your simply looking to grab a drink or two with some friends, get some food, or simply hangout with a group of people, you can rely on this location delivering. On a side note I was quite impressed with their beer tap selection as well, they have quite a lot to offer (just wish PBR would make it's way back unto tap haha). read more

As far as the reservation process is concerned it needs more training. I made a large reservation for my birthday and the reservation was made on the incorrect date. You can imagine my stress with the anticipation of having 13 people show up and the hostesses not having a reservation on a weekend night. Said hostesses were not thrilled to have to be accommodating and despite the table being organized a few minutes later we still waited another 12 minutes before being seated (not that busy). I was then called on the incorrect date about my reservation and when I explained to the woman on the phone her response was "oh, sorry" and hung up. Incredibly unprofessional. Service on the other hand was fantastic! Food was awesome, drinks were great, and everything was brought out quickly. We had two servers (I wish I could remember their names) and they were friendly, organized and efficient. The bills were also individual and everyone was billed correctly and able to pay without an issue. Even the other servers and food runners that we passed to and from our table were incredibly friendly. The front host staff could definitely be a lot more enthusiastic about their position rather than making patrons feel as though they are an inconvenience to their evening. read more

Will NOT return to this location. Have been to many Jack Astor's - this one (Burlington) is terrible - but as a whole they are OK. District manager needs to do some work here! My 8 year had a basketball game in Burlington and after the game he was hungry so we headed to the Keg in Burlington. When we got there, Jack Astors was right next door and as he wanted to watch the NBA All star game I thought it may have been easier to do so there. We walked in and were greeted by the hostess. We were seated in the bar area. There we waited, and waited and waited. We waited for one of the 5 servers that were in the bar area and passed us 10 times to ask if we wanted to order? If we wanted water? Bread? To say anything. We closed our menus and continued to wait trying to make eye contact with any of the servers. Nothing. 25 minutes we waited and I told my 8 year old who at this point was saying dad I'm so hungry that we would wait another couple of minutes. Obviously nothing happened. We walked out and on the way out I told the hostess what had happened. No reaction, nothing. Anyway we went to the Keg next door and had a great meal. Honestly, this was just ridiculous. How does no one greet someone with an 8 year old for almost 30 minutes? Very very very bad. Be better. read more

I am making and effort to write about this SPECIFIC Jack Astor's because of my horrible experience first time and really bad experience each time i have been there. First time when I went there around 11 pm on a Saturday the waitress was talking to someone, looked at us, looked away and continued with her "chat session" with her buddy. We stood there for at least 5 to 7 minutes NO ONE CAME. by the way there were hardly 3 to 5 tables taken so it was not even busy. My husband was furious and wanted to leave but i marched INTO the kitchen and "asked" for service!!! we were seated by a kitchen staff (i think) WITHOUT any apology and this waitress saw us talking about her but chose to continue yapping away. I had to call for the manager, told him what happened. He apologized and said said that he will talk to the waitress right away. BUT he didn't as she continued talking. We were attended by some other staff who was OK but this waitress didn't come to us even once. BTW - i asked the manager if she was off duty and he informed me that she was not. After that, every time i went back i got shit service. I find this place really racist which is sad. We all pay taxes and we all are Canadians but a few uneducated fools make Canada look disgusting. I don't know what was this waitress's issue but as a customer i am disgusted with their service and attitude. We try to stay away from this place as much as possible and you should too! read more

Jack Astor's is a chain restaurant, so going in there knowing that it was definitely a-ok. We were in the area on business, so we visited Jack Astor's over the course of a few days for drinks and/or for dinner. The bar staff was consistently attentive and quick - and although I had healthy pours of my spirits, I hear it wasn't the case across the board so it's worth mentioning. The food options are fairly diverse, and the quality of them kind of ran the board as well. I had a chicken sandwich that was very good, and then poutine (I know, I know it's not the place to get it but I just wanted some fries smothered in something!) that was not good at all. Then there was the chicken strips which sat just over the edge of moderately good. They held up well when I took them to go my first night in - but the seasoning on the plain was...definitely plain. There were plenty of TVs around and we were able to watch every game across every sport that our group was hoping to see, so that's a plus. All in all, if I'm back in the area I won't waste an opportunity to find a different place to eat, but it seems like a good spot to watch a game if you live in the area. read more

I had a great meal at Jack Astor's, quality service and the meal was quite good. Being from Chicago I'm always a little leery to order a steak but their Bleu Cheese Sirloin was very good. It was cooked to perfection and the crumbled bleau cheese was perfect. The only drawback was that the onion straws on top were greasy. I also tried their apple streusel special dessert and it was high quality. I would certainly recommend them and will visit when I'm back in town. read more

Every time I come with my fiance we are always greeted with smiling faces. I can't believe this place got a bad review for the staff. They are actually extremely attentive especially Garrett at the bar. I was having a deep conversation and he waited to ask us if we needed a top up on our drinks. Its very rare I'm ever left alone to converse at restaurants without the server interrupting. The food is always delicious and fresh. I usually don't go to chain restaurants but this one has really made a great niche for itself. Upbeat atmosphere with a fresh menu you can't go wrong with. read more

Came here for a dinner with my mother visiting from out of town. We were first given a 15 min wait for a table when nearly half the restaurant was unsat. After waiting for anther 50 mins, the food finally comes, to be sent back because it was cold. About 25 mins later, guess what? Went to Jacks last night for dinner, I have been there before a few times but last night was the worst I have had, the burgers we ordered were completely uncooked, considering it took a while for the food to come, the bottled beer was warm, we had 3 different waitresses delivering to us, the manager even brought us the wrong drink that was ordered, finally got our meal, and just got it to go, where we were sitting we could see the kitchen, and two of the cooks were just playing around, one wiping sauce on the other ones face, ordered one last drink and it was 20 mins before we just told them to forget about it, not impressed at all! read more
