We placed an online order before we arrived after music lessons on Monday and it said ready in 8-10 minutes. We had a 10 minute commute so it worked out great. Parking lot and drive thru were empty except 1 car in the drive thru. Seemed to only be 2 employees working when we arrived. Restaurant could have definitely used some cleaning. Almost all the sodas were out, the tea was unmade, the tables were all dirty and the floor was sticky. The bathrooms were icky and had some mystery stuff floating in the sink. The back of the house didn't look too bad honestly all things considered. We were greeted about 5 minutes after we arrived and we waited on our order around 10-15 extra minutes. A 3rd employee arrived while we were waiting and promptly clocked in and immediately washed her hands before starting work (extra points for this because cleanliness is quickly forgotten for a lot of people) When we received our food everything was made correctly and was hot and fresh. We enjoyed our food very much and would go back for sure. All of the issues in the lobby and bathroom were most likely from lack of help and that's not the employees who were working consistently in the kitchens fault. Would be more than 3 stars if the restaurant would give their staff sufficient help to keep up and catch up even between rush hours. Good food. Good friendly fast service. Fifteen till twelve and no napkins available. Clean place. Did not see any containers for tea. Most of the drinks in the fountain machine appeared to be unavailable. Most people go to lunch around noon and they weren't ready. Whoohooo!! I love Jack in the Box a West Coast thing!!lol Wow it's rare thing to see this on the East Coast so I quickly drove here and couldn't believe my eyes like golden! I think the employees knew immediately that we were in shock and understood completely. So many items on this menu I could have gotten at the time, but I just couldn't hold it! I've never had in my life a bad experience at Jack in the Box and here wasn't any different. The employees were very professional. Outside and inside the restaurant was very clean and tidy. The food area was also clean too! I didn't see fries etc laying on the floor like most places. Our food was just delicious and of course hot! We opted to get breakfast and come back later to eat a snack My croissant was delicious with egg and ham served with a smile and the only thing I can say is that my coffee wasn't as hot as I like it. 24 hour drive through...... HA HA HA. Good luck getting service here during the night. While there are clearly employees inside, they ignore you at the drive thru because they are too busy smoking meth inside the kitchen. You can even see this from the window. Also, during the daytime I have witnessed employees smoking Marijuana out back. When they do answer the drive thru at night, they are lazy and rude. Regardless of the time of the day, the food is pretty much always terrible. This place needs to be shut down as they are hurting the corporate image of Jack in the Box. P. S. One of the most unprofessional establishments in hickory for any means of getting food. Served myself and my roommates food that was not fresh. The manager Norma had an attitude when asked to give our drinks without ice. We said "No ice please." She then proceeded to reply by saying, "Are you serious?" Uh, are you serious? So I was out shopping and decided to stop by this place to eat since I've never been here before. Big mistake. Amongst a number of other restaurants and shops, this particular location is nestled in a nice plaza where target, kohls, and many other shops are located. The setup is quite simple. Dining area with booths, tables, and high tables, I estimate seating for up to 50 or so. Fast food counter in front of the kitchen and an adjacent drink station. The menu. Very interesting assortment of stuff. Breakfast sandwiches served any time, tacos, burgers, chicken sandwiches, etc etc. This menu is all over the place. Jack in the Box trying to be the Jack of all trades. Junk food galore. Prices are pretty typical for fast food. As expected. The service was also as expected. No issues there. Now, the food. I ordered the grilled chicken club. The chicken wasn't bad. A touch dry, but I didn't have high expectations. A shitload of mayonnaise slathered over the lettuce spilling over the sides did not win the award for appealing sandwich of the day. I scraped off most of it before proceeding to eat it. Had curly fries with my meal, which was okay. Not as crispy as I would have liked it. Doesn't hold a candle to Arby's curly fries. I got a drink with my meal but I ended up just getting water. Not a soda person anyway. Overall, I guess this place is what you would expect a fast food joint to be. Jack of all trades, kind of like a breakfast sandwich/taco bell/burger king all in one. I love Jack in the Box but this location has really gone downhill lately. If you go during an "off time" (not during a rush) it almost always smells like weed coming from the building, you can even smell it when you're at the speaker and it only gets stronger as you get to the window. The workers are also usually rude and short with you. I usually drive out of my way and go to the Conover location just to avoid this location. read more

Then I found a gray short hair partially in my taco. When I brought it to the attention of the shift manager, she was nasty towards me and accused me of lying. we are transplants from the west coast and love us some effin Jack in the Box. we stopped through this store two years ago on a trip to the mountains only to find the dining room was closed due to limited staff (Covid Times)... no problem. we were so desperate for some delicious Jack that we obliged and did drive though. it was everything and more. now, two years later here we are again... irate, disappointed and hangry. Go in, the tables, floor, and counters are filthy. Go to the restroom and it is filthy, as well as smell like vomit. My girlfriend and I waited 10 minutes to be waited on, while the cashier walked around the dinning room giving dirty looks. There were more coming in behind us and still the cashier gave even more evil looks and did not go to service anyone. So we left the restaurant. I called the manager, she said she would take care of it, even offered us a free meal when we come back. ... This was one of the worst burgers that I've ever had. It had a really odd taste and the bun was stale. I had them add bacon and what I received was nasty over-microwaved bacon. We usually eat at another local Jack In The Box but were near this one on Catawba Valley Blvd. Hickory, NC on 1/12/15. We were hungry and it was getting late so we decided to stop and grab a bite here. We had eaten her a few times in the past. It is not as good as the other one we go to. There were no customers at all. I went into the restroom and since someone was in there I used the handicap stall. I was washing my hands (sink is directly in front of the door) and an employee came out of the regular stall (no sink in there or handicap stall) and just left out the door without washing her hands. She was in there stinking the place up and I heard the toilet paper roll spin MANY times and yet she did not wash her hands!!!! When she came out of the stall I couldn't help but see the nasty swirl of her handiwork (very tight quarters and she left the door wide open to share her accomplishment). I knew she had gone to the bathroom (but what else would she be doing in that tiny stall?). I walked out of the restroom directly behind her and watched her just go back to her post behind the counter. I thought MAYBE she would wash her hands somewhere but nope. Just went back to work. YUCK. I just got a drink and left because I feel if you use a public bathroom you should buy something. We DID NOT eat there and I would not eat at a place where employees do not wash their hands after a bathroom stop much less after pooping. OMG!!! I won't go there again. read more
