It amazes me that people leave one star reviews because they come here and have to wait. What do you expect if there's cars and lines it's going to take time to get your meal plain and simple if you don't wanna wait go somewhere else that doesn't have a line maybe McDonald's maybe Taco Bell and see how long you wait probably even longer, I have always had a great experience there. Great employees always the correct meal. Yes, sometimes I have to wait longer than I would like, but that's life. I hesitated coming here because of the bad reviews but I'm so glad I did. The first time I came at seven at night. There was no line in the drive-through. My order was taken and food was received quickly and was hot and delicious. I came back a couple nights later right around five again no line in the drive-through order taker was very pleasant. Most of the time I go through the drive-through after picking up poke at KTA, which is right next to it. I Assemble my own keto poke salad. I order a side salad at Jack-in-the-Box and add the pokey to it. It is a great lunch depending on how much poke, the price is reasonable. The reason for the low rating is the line was long at the drive-through so I went in the restaurant and it was an absolute horror show. Wet floors trash on all the tables, people waiting, and not understanding the order system and the folks behind the counter had no capability to handle the press of people that were ordering at 1:30 in the afternoon. If I could give zero stars for EVERYTHING, I would. There was not ONE good part about my visit & this is NOT the first visit that I left unsatisfied. Now let me start off by pointing out that ofc my standards are never 5 star dining high, but if im paying $50+ for 2 meals, I do expect to atleast get what im paying for. You will never find that here. This is by far the WORST place to eat in hilo. 10/10 do NOT reccomend. Here, to start you off, they will have you waiting 20-30mins in the drive thru line just to order, then make you wait another 20-30mins for your food. Once you finally get your food you wont be hungry anymore, but thats okay because the portions are so small! On top of that everything is so old, oily & soggy even my 1 year old said "ew". As if the food taking forever, being gross & completely over priced wasnt enough, The whole staff is completely uneducated on how to perform their job correctly, efficiently and within a timely manner. However its really not their fault when theyʻre being managed and taught by an unprofessional, lazy and yet SASSY "manager". Its all VERY unethical. My wife was so hungry that she was feeling sick after a long drive! We drove and hiked all morning and we needed lunch! We drove into Hilo and the wife needed a burger. She said how about Jack n the Box! The line was out to the road but went super quick! We got a Sourdough burger, chicken sandwich, cheesy bacon fries, and spicy popcorn chicken. **Update: 2022...not a single thing has changed. Constantly don't give you your food and mess up pretty much every order. We went in yesterday to get a sourdough jack meal and a large ice tea with lemon. Drive thru was very busy so we went inside. Utter chaos ! For starters, the kitchen/counter area was filthy, counters needed to be wiped, the floors were covered in rubbish such as fries, ketchup packets, etc. The drive thru was staffed by one person, they couldn't manage the line and seemed like they were not focused. We waited over 15 minutes to be waited on. The counter staff who waited on us threw our food at us when it was ready. When I told her the fries were wrong she went and got the correct ones and threw them in the bag along with the wrong ones. She gave us one cup for the sdj meal, did not give us the ice tea. When we asked for it, she informed us there were no lemons or non-sugar sweetener for the tea and refused to go look in the back to get some. The grill staff was flying the sandwiches out so hard they were opening and spilling out. I can remember when Jack in the Box was a good place to eat. what a horrible experience this was! Did the drive through on Saturday morning 9/9 around 9am and the boy was excellent. You could understand him spoke very clearly very pleasant and on it. But this is the second time my eggs in my Breakfast Jack was partially black like the grill wasn't cleaned. Very unappetizing. read more

Everytime we have gone here, they always mess up our order. This time I remebered to check everything before leaving. Not only did they completely forget my husband's buger, but they didn't didn't give us straws or forks. On top of that, the person at the window argued that they did give us the burger. Finally they gave it to us but we got home to find out it was the wrong one! Its messed up because they started out by asking if we wanted to try this new bacon burger and thats the one they totally forgot. It's fast food. Overall, the chicken here is better than McDonald's, but not as good as Wendy's. They were open Christmas Eve though, so that was pretty sweet! Fries were decent. When I came, it wasn't super busy, so I felt that the quality of the fries and burgers were decent. Plenty of parking, conveniently located in Hilo. read more
