I ordered some fries from Jack in The Box on Coffee Rd in Modesto. As I'm eating my fries I found this lovely gift. I was confused at first and thought it was maybe a chunk of potato but the more I looked at it, I realized it was a piece of gum. I have no clue why this was in my food. It seemed to be fried and hard so I'm assuming someone may have been chewing gum while making fries and it somehow feel into the frying oil. However it happened, I'm 100% disgusted. I'm not sure what happened to this location, but their customer service has gone downhill. I came through the drive-through this evening and ordered a teriyaki bowl, a side order of fries, and a grilled chicken sandwich combo. The attendant on the other end of the speaker appeared to have gotten my order correct because she read it back to me accurately, so I didn't think anything of it. However, when I pulled to the window, after I handed her my debit card, she read the order back to me again but did not mention the teriyaki bowl. I told her I ordered a teriyaki bowl, and she apologized and added it. Due to this little error, I had to pull to the side of the restaurant and wait an additional three minutes for my mother's teriyaki bowl! This doesn't count the time I waited in a long line. read more

This place is horrible.. for some reason they can never get a complete order correct! When you order something and they repeat the order back, you'd assume they've got the order right. But when you get home and you get situated and comfortable to start eating you realize, your order is wrong.. now after you had made the trip out there, sat in the drive through line, placed your order, paid for that order, you damn right it is highly inconvenient. It's not every day I hurt food that looks like the picture. Our orders were made perfectly. So many times I'm given a sandwich that looks like it's been ran over and stomped on totally ruins the meal. (Not at jack). I ordered tonight on my way home from work. I have never been treated so rudely. When I arrived a the speaker I was informed someone would be with me shortly. After 4 minutes I said Hello? Nothing. 3 more minutes pass and I then said Hello? A line is building behind me. Another staff person came on the box and rudely said, "We will be with you shortly we ONLY have one working headset. Ok? So I said "Thanks for letting me know', So now after another 3 or 4 minutes the first young lady takes my order. I get to the window, no hi , no sorry for the wait, the young lady ask for my payment and the order was about 25 dollars I pay she gives me my card back and closes the window. Literally said 2 words to me. About 4 or 5 minutes later the other woman, who looked like a manager and had many tattoos but I was not able to see her name tag, slams open the window says here you go and slings the bags of food at me and closes the window hard enough that it came back open a bit so I said wow thanks I hope the people behind me are as nice as you are and she yelled back good night! She was very rude you could tell she was really mad and honestly this is not the first time service has been less than at this location so I probably won't be back. I worked at JIB for 5 years in the 80's if I acted, looked or spoke the way this 'manager' di I would have been fired. I have always been a loyal customer but am now rethinking that. I do not understand how and establishment as big as Jack in the box could be turning down all this business on a Saturday night. Makes no sense. At first they started telling everyone in the drive thru ar like 130am that it will be a 20min wait for food. This caused everyone to leave. There were only 3 cars who stayed, two ahead of me and myself. I sat there for 20 to 30min and I was so bored I started counting how many cars were coming up to the speaker box. About 25 cars in the time I was there. The worker told them all 20min wait. Most of them decided to drive off. There was a couple of cars willing to wait then they suddenly started saying they were only taking cash. This caused them to just leave. Who rejects business at 130am on a Saturday. Isn't the point of having a place open for business is for the purpose to make profits. If this is a franchise jack in the box the owner needs to get there and supervise what is going on at night so they can seee where their losing money and fix the problem. It's like this place does everything in their power to get you to not stay and order food. They need a manager there at night to make sure things are being done properly read more

I've continued to go inside for my orders as I've been getting great service inside, but today, alas the service fell extremely short. I ordered a large drink and received a medium, ordered Bacon & Cheddar potato wedges with no bacon and received the wedges with no bacon or no cheddar, and ordered a grilled chicken salad and it was given to me in a small paper bag turned on its side to fit, ranch dressing that they use for dipping, not the packet for salads, and no fork to eat it with. It was a small order and they were not busy at all. We were the only people inside and only one car in the drive thru when we walked in. I didn't think it was possible to screw an order up like that but, (according to the receipt) "Diane" proved me wrong. Very disappointing. read more

Made us feel silly for asking her again. Get the hamburger back and it was completely wrong. Then when we told her the attitude she gave us was absolutely unacceptable. Instead of taking my order the cashier waited for burgers to be made for drive-thru. In that time that she was waiting she had enough time to take my order. My husband went through the drive through and they claimed the card had been declined and sent us away. Get home to find out it did in fact charge. So I called the manager and he claimed no such transaction happened. Said the drive through worker claimed we were never there. We are calling corporate and getting this straightened out. I asked to speak to the manager come to find out it was the woman ignoring me, because I sat in drive thru for 20+ minutes with no movement, then came inside to get my food, not a single person acknowledged that I was in there... please review security cameras and you will see that she completely ignored me and continued to chat. Ok, I DO know what all those 1star reviewers were talking about. I DID get that burned food and messed up orders in the past. This week I tried the Coffee Rd Jack in the Box again hoping it would be ok. I was shocked at the improvement ! Lindzey at the drive thru got my order correct the first time I said it. Do you also hate repeating the order 3 times? The sandwich had a toasted bun, grilled egg, and grilled ham on it and none of them were burned. All cooked to perfection. Kudos to the grill girl working yesterday. Lindzey was fast and very polite, service with a smile. In and Out burger will not get as much of my business if the cook and Lindzey keep up the good work. Edit: I went back today and they had a new girl working the window and Lindzey working the counter. The drive thru girl was ok and seemed to be under training by the owner or manager lady behind her. That person should quality control the veggies and throw away unsuitable ones not just use them being too cheap. For example the improved operation subway in Riverbank Target area have been throwing away veggies that are not high quality. 4star today. read more
