Picked up dinner the other night and it was actually really good! Much better than last time. I ordered 2 chicken burritos one with light sauce & 2 tacos , asada & Longaniza . Burritos were a good size and very tasty. I love how they toast the outside. My asada taco has some fatty pieces but was great in flavor. My man loved his longaniza taco. The food is excellent and service is as well. They always take their time to help me with my order and let me know what is included. My last burrito was well seasoned and they served sauce on the side which gave me the ability to make my burrito as spicy as preferred. read more

I did try this place and it was so disgusting. I did order two $2.50 tacos of asada and the meat was dry as cardboard and these tacos were so tiny. I also ordered a Pastor burrito and besides being the size of a Taco Bell bean burrito the meat wasn't even close to what pasto should be. I just give this place one opportunity and I wouldn't recommend it or either go back. Lucky for me there is many other great options within the same area. read more

My husband brought us here after telling me his co-worker dreams about these tacos. I can understand why their food infiltrates his subconscious. We had the carne asada tacos for dinner, and we scarfed them down in my husband's truck while they were still piping hot and fresh. l can't explain why these tacos were better than others besides fresh ingredients and maybe putting some love into them. They didn't have any secret ingredients. They were simply delicious, filling, and affordable. They were parked next to the recycling center. I wondered how they get business while hidden down that road, but good food speaks for itself and word will spread. read more

This taco truck was highly recommended. So my family and I were starving when we arrived and very, very excited, but we were all super disappointed by the end results. We ordered 20 tacos - 8 chicken, 8 carne asada, 4 pastor and 1-carne asada burrito. We only got 16 tacos. So we were 4-tacos cheated - they owe me $10.00 and I also want my $5.00 tip back! The tacos were ALL super DRY & had no Seasoning . The burrito was suppose to be a super ( I paid for a super ) but all he put in It was meat and beans and it was gross, very dry and tasted like I was eating wood chips of dog food. The one and ONLY thing THEY did correctly and on point, was I asked for the hot sauce to be put on the side because I heard it was extra spicy. That order was followed properly, so he is a great listener. The food was a waste of money and a waste of time. We end up going to In-and-Out afterwards and was OF COURSE we were then SATISFIED,!!! We end up throwing all this dry poop away. Never ever, ever would we go back. If it was the only thing open in the world, I'd rather starve. Such a disappointment. The guy was extremely nice, so that is the only thing I can appreciate. Regarding the food on a scale of 1-10, they get a Negative 0 and the middle finger. read more

Ok back at it big dawg. Like always i ordered the lengua tacos. 3$ a taco is super cheap. The lengua was good and flavorful not over powering with bay leaf. The service could use some work, but no complaints my food was hot and delicious. No ambiance as the trailer was in an industry parking lot. Was in the area so I stopped by to try this place out, got asada, carnitas, and pastor tacos. The tacos have good flavor and the salsa is spicy but good! Got a side of grilled onions to top them off. Food was made pretty fast and customer service was great. Will be back again! read more

We have to say this taco truck is #1 for us moving from the Bay Area to Merced and finding food like San Jose Redwood City or Palo Alto. This one tastes like home if any body passes by this town or stays around here try it won't disappoint you. Don't mind the industrial area. This is about the subject at hand. Tacos. If you love tacos, this taco truck in an unassuming & borderline sketch area is a truck you really should visit. Authentic to Mexico & back. Flavors make you drool. My "test" is always al pastor. Unsurprisingly, Tacos El Hidalguense nailed 'em. I think abuelita (granny) is back there making them herself, from the recipes she learned from her abuelita, decades ago, in old Mexico. I wish the area was a little less sketch, but what can I do? Only go w my S.O. That's what. With my S.O. next to me, sin problema. If you're female traveling solo, I recommend prime lunchtime. It's crowded & tame. And there's going to be a line. Most of my reviews revolve around tacos. I literally travel up and down CA trying tacos. I love a flavorful taco. First- the Tortilla. Love that they lightly fry it (?) it's delicious. Second- the meat is tender, nicely cooked, flavorful. I got the Asada and Tongue and Pastor. They don't serve chicken there. Third-Salsa was on point. It can taste the salsa which complemented well with the meat. Overall...my thought after having their tacos...I would invest in their business. If only their location and truck was at a nicer location and better maintained....more people would go there. For now...I believe I found a taco shop I would go regularly when I'm in NorCal. I was in the area and craving some tacos. After a quick Yelp search, I found this place and decided to come here. The carne asada tacos I had were soooo yummy! The tortilla had the perfect amount of crispness and so much flavor in the meat as well. I had been getting tacos out in the Bay Area and had been let down each time. I was getting meat that was super tough or just no flavor at all, but these more than satisfied this 8 month pregnant lady. The only thing I would say is that the salsa is way too spicy but the tacos overall are so good that I still ate 6, boogers coming out and all. read more

I've been coming to this taco truck for more than 20 years. It's my favorite truck for 200 miles in any direction. The meat is perfectly seasoned. The tortillas are delicious. The worker was too rude for the tacos being mid, if they had good food I would understand, and they TAX for sauce. I bought so many tacos and he only gave me one sauce, and he charged me for it. My first bad review, I don't know why he hated me so much but whatever. read more

So far the best tacos I've had in the 209 area! Trust me when I tell you they're good. This is coming from a true hispanic lol, when the tortilla is yellow and semi-crispy dipped in light oil, that's when you know it's a winner. The meat is seasoned to perfection, it'll pack a punch to your tastebuds leaving them not knowing what hit them lol. The salsa. Ah yes, the good ol spicy salsa. It's spicy, definitely not for the weak. If you don't mind it burning through the entry AND exit gate, be my guest. Definitely worth it LOL. The only downfall is they only take cash. Warning Don't eat here there were fly's in our tacos cooked in the meat Nasty I'm 6'5 so I could see in the truck . There was about 200 fly's on the counter when I got my food on Sunday let alone 20 fly's on dudes back making my tacos! Had food poisoning all day went to the hospital! Don't eat here please check your meat and look for the extra meat called fly legs this place needs to shut down please check your meat here at all times you never know how many fly's will be in your burrito or tacos read more

First of all I'll have you all know that I am a professional taco truck connoisseur (or at least I like to pretend I am.) I'm Mexican, I grew up eating homemade Mexican meals every day (shoutout to my mom) so you know my opinion is legit... Ive tried about 100 different taco trucks/ Mexican restaurants throughout my career and this one is one of the best taco trucks in all the land (or at least from Merced to Stockton.) I've been coming here since I was a kid. I have cousins in the bay that have to have it whenever they come visit me in Modesto. (Shoutout Luis and Paco.) I always get the ol classic asada burrito supreme with red salsa and 2 or 3 lengua/ al pastor tacos on the side with red salsa whenever I go. Burritos are never dry and packed with exquisite flavor. Tacos are delicious and are made the right way. They don't just serve you a taco with a plain flimsy tortilla that was slapped on the grill for 10 seconds, the tortilla is actually done with some grease from the meat on em and they get that slight crunch. The red salsa is one of the best I've ever had. Warning: it might be spicy for those who are weenies when it comes down to spiciness but it damn near has perfect flavor probably just like everything else you can order from this truck. I've been coming here since I was a teenager (over 10 years!) I'm a little sad that they've cut the spicy-ness down because I'm the type that likes my mouth to burn and nose to run, but it's still a good taco spot. $8 for 4 carne asada tacos is pretty standard for the area. read more

You could definitely share it with somebody else. I have to say their portions are very generous. For drinks they have beers margaritas my mother had a Chavela, which is beer with lime. I'm not a big tequila fan, but they do have a full bar so I just changed the dirty linen drink for Gin instead of tequila and it was very delicious . The service everyone was really nice and attentive. Overall, we had a great dinner my family and I we had a lot of food and a lot of good laughs. I would definitely come back. I have to say I love their tacos de Papa and for them being on happy hour it's a win-win.
