Updated Review: February 28, 2026 I came back to Jack Jack's after my original review in 2016. I was a little hesitant after my first experience but they were listed in my LI Cafe Passport book I got for Christmas and I want to go to all the spots in that book even if I'm revisiting. My second experience was much better so I'm upping my review to 4 stars. The staff was nicer this time. I opted for a pour over because that's what the book recommended and I got the cherry vanilla latte as well with half and half. I was able to sit in the coffee shop because I had dropped my son off at a birthday party and had a little time before I picked him up. I caught up on watching Friday Night Smackdown before elimination chamber with headphones on of course so I wouldn't disturb other people and I finished a book I was reading. The seating was nice, an optional variety of different kinds of seats and lots of seating. The latte was very smooth, you could definitely taste the coffee more in the pour over but that was good, the coffee went down nicely, not a lot of bitterness. So Jack Jack's redeemed themselves in my eyes almost ten years after my first review and I would be able to recommend going to them. Babylon Bean will still be my favorite coffee shop in Babylon but both of them are nice to visit. Original Review: March 22, 2016 I came here after picking up my jacket from the dry cleaners. I didn't like it very much at all and am happy to say my heart and my business will continue to go to the Babylon Bean! The baristas did not seem happy at all when they helped me. They weren't rude but they weren't sweet or nice either. I chose a brownie to eat and got a cup of regular coffee. The coffee was okay, not horrid but for sure not great. The brownie was disgusting. I couldn't eat the whole thing ended up throwing it on the ground for the birds to eat. This place also has a hipster vibe, sometimes I can dig it but sometimes I can't. So in my personal experience if the babylon bean and this place had a throw down I would always favor the bean! read more

I got an iced honey cinnamon latte recommended by the woman in the front, which i believe may be the owner. I'm not typically too much of a fan of cinnamon, but it was made perfectly it was not too overpowering. The latte was on the sweeter side, but I thought it was great. The taste of the espresso was nutty as well which is what sold me. I assume if you wanted it a tad bit less sweet just ask for less honey. read more

I got the berry mango smoothie which was good a little too much oats for me but it was still tasty and not too sweet. I also got the avocado toast which was very good and the blueberry muffin was moist and delicious. The place has enough indoor seating. And as a reminder they allow dogs so be aware of the occasional barking. read more

I walked in and liked the good vibes coming off the place. You have a selection of comfort when drinking your coffee to a standard table, sofa or even pulling up a chair outside and people watch. Walls have some nice shop art you can purchase and a selection of baked goods as well as a kitchen to make you a quick bite. This isn't a bad thing bad the coffee is generic as other shops and nothing that really sticks out but you will get your caffeine fix. I have just had the BEST cup of coffee i ever had! I drive OTR for work, so i drink a lot of coffee from a lot of places. Literally the best i have EVER had. I needed some wake-up juice, so i ordered large drip with a quad shot of espresso. I got a drinkable temperature beverage, not some thermo nuclear liquid, and the flavors were flavorful! not some burnt, chemically tasting sludge! this place also has a very friendly and professional staff as well, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. go start your day off right! read more

Tiny, but a very classic coffee house in the heart of Babylon. It looks like they have a lot to offer, both drinks and pastries wise: lattes, teas, avo brownies, sour cream scones, you name it! Ordered an iced mocha latte and was served promptly. What I received was probably the prettiest mocha latte I have ever received. White foam on top leading the way to this lovely gradient of espresso and chocolate. And that mocha drip tho. The flavor is pretty good. I do love a mocha with some bittersweet chocolate flavors. The end of the latte was a bit grainy though, something you don't find with mocha syrups. But on the plus side it does show they're not afraid to use a mocha mix with real chocolate pieces inside! Long story short, we inherited a espresso machine and we had no idea what beans to use or how to grind the coffee beans for espresso. So what I did was I did a quick search on Yelp to see if there was a cafe nearby that had espresso. Surely a local cafe could give us tips on espresso and sell us a bag of ground beans for espresso. The cafe was in a convenient location with a free parking lot around the corner from the cafe. There was also a medical thrift shop nearby the makes for a good distraction if you were looking for something to do while you wait for your drip coffee. When I arrived to the cafe I noticed a dog theme right away with a large dog bowl in the entrance. I also noticed the few tables and chairs outside spaced at a distance for people who wanted to enjoy their food & beverage outdoors. I was also pleasantly happy to see that they had plastic dividers all around the perminter of the counter for proper hygiene to prevent customer and cafe contamination. The staff was also wearing gloves and masks. They also sell masks. I asked if they sold ground beans for espresso, and the server answered yes. He then asked me which coffee bean type would I want. I stared blankly at the several choices of coffee (there were about 10 or more). I wasn't sure what kind if roast to use and which flavor and aroma would taste the best for espresso. The person at the counter suggested a type of coffee bean blend that they use for their espresso. So I went with his suggestion, and he grinded the beans for me. The smell of the coffee was AMAZING. It was the best coffee I've ever smelled. To preserve the flavor and aroma I immediately purchased an airtight container from another store to make it last. The pound of coffee was $20 but I've already made about 25 cups of coffee and I still have half of the bag full. I also saw there were some creative sandwiches and wraps on the menu. I will defiantly try this place once we can dine in. read more

Normally I love coming to the place, I usually come on the weekends with my husband and it's always packed and great vibes and delicious food and drinks. I stopped on my way to work on a Wednesday one day and the pastries I normally get were stale and I found a blue hair hanging off of it. Plus my cappuccino tasted spoiled and was completely foam. The guy working behind the counter was extremely friendly. I paid $6 and change for medium coffees, which was extremely affordable considering what I've paid at other coffee houses. No joke, this was top 3 best tasting coffees I have ever had. Super smooth, not bitter at all, absolutely delicious. Highly highly recommend if you are in the mood for a really good cup. I rarely give bad reviews but I could not let this go. I felt I owe it to my fellow yelpers. I was visiting the town on a Sunday and saw this local shop and decided to pop in for a coffee. I ordered a dirty chai and much to my surprise the total was $9.63! I didn't question it because I know local businesses have been hurting and figured I would write this off as helping them out. However, the chai mix was not homemade, the oat milk was a low quality brand and the barista didn't even remember my order. It took 15 minutes and was only 12oz... for almost $10. The experience was overall very poor. My friend ordered the mango berry smoothie which was ok and at least a bigger size for $9. Overall it was such a sad drink that made me not want to return. If you are going to charge that much it would be nice to put in some more effort for a decent beverage/experience. read more

This was a stop on Babylon's food Done it? Tour. My party was given cupcakes as part of the tour and we ordered coffee separately. There are different coffee options, but only one sugar free choice; vanilla. I ended up getting a 12 oz chai latte. It was very...not chai like. I didn't taste any chai undertones at all. It was also $6.35, which I find overpriced for a small tea. This part is my fault...but...make sure you check your change before you go. Being that my total was $6.35, I gave the barista $10.35. She gave me $3.20 as change, which is incorrect. The cupcake was just okay, nothing special at all. My friend enjoyed her sugar free vanilla latte. Barista was very nice. Place looked to be your typical coffee house. Some comfy chairs and some regular table and chairs. I am a Starbucks girl and don't mind paying for quality drinks, but this place is way OVERPRICED! My 16 Oz latte was $7. The whole order came out to $16 for only two drinks. I ordered the maple vanilla latte as per recommendation by the barista and I was not impressed. They do get a point for using almond breeze almond milk though. I would rather get Starbucks or even Babylon bean beats this place. Save your money. This place was even more expensive than the Hampton Coffee Co. out east. read more

I was very surprised how good my coffee tasted. I have to have sugar free syrup and coconut or almond milk and most of the coffee spots I go to never make it right. They made it taste perfectly here.
