Cute little spot in Main Street. It gets pretty packed here, but the line moves! It may take 10 minutes if you order food, but it's worth it. I got the avocado toast and I also tried their iced lavender latte.

The strawberry matcha from Southdown is so good. It's part of their seasonal menu and I'm obsessed! I love that they use ceremonial grade matcha - you can really taste the quality in every sip. The space is cute and it's the perfect grab-and-go spot with such friendly staff. 10/10 will be back.

Quaint little coffee shop located in the heart of Northport village. They have a nice selection of fresh bakery items. Also, sandwiches made for a quick bite. I tried a Cappuccino. It was nice and strong . Parking is meter parking.

Excellent coffee but plan to take it to go, it's super tiny inside.. Hard to find independent coffee shops in this town. Check out their seasonal menu when you go!

Had yet another lovely experience at Southdown Coffee this afternoon! Trying to enjoy the last days of summer before plunging into full on pumpkin spice season, I stopped in and got a small iced strawberry matcha. It was delicious! There were no bitter undissolved clumps, and the drink retained a delicious and smooth matcha flavor without being too sweet. Definitely pick one up before summer ends!

Cute coffee shop. Makes an excellent matcha for my tastes and the blueberry combination is a hit. Love it here

Pretty cute coffee shop near the seaside! Inside is a bit small with no seating, but that didn't deter the line forming on the inside. Their menu consist of classic coffee shop fare, seasonal specials and baked goods. I ended up ordering the seasonal strawberry matcha latte iced and it was good! Sweet strawberry puree mellowed out by not to sweet matcha. A wonderful drink to sip on while perusing the Northport scene. If I'm ever in the Northport area again, I would love to try their other offerings. Seems like they're a much loved shop in the vicinity!

My heart is fluttering. And that may be the cold brew, but more likely it's because Northport Village FINALLY got a great coffee shop! I originally came from the south shore and was spoiled by some great coffee shops (I'm looking at you Jack Jack's), but when I moved up here I was shocked that Northport Village didn't have a great coffee shop to sit down a enjoy a cup and a book. Once I heard news that Southdown was coming, I was smitten. I stopped by yesterday with my pup and grabbed a cold brew and wow. The coffee was stellar. I can definitely tell that once they're able to throw in some seating (I would assume there's none currently due to Covid) that this will be a place I'm at all the time. For now, I'll be stopping in constantly and enjoying my coffee down by the water.

I…read moredesperately want to love the place but we have determined the only thing we like here are the breakfast biscuits. They are amazing... crushes! Crisp, delicate, creamy, savory... big enough to share!!!!!! They also make some killer coffee beverages! I won't say anything negative but the rest is just not for us... not fans of much or anything else and we have purposely had different things each time to explore the menu. Our palates are not aligned and that's fine - more and bigger is not always better. Cute inside and beyond welcoming staff.... Love the biscuits!!!!!!

A tale of two trips (with some pie in the middle) creates this review of Hometown Bakeshop. You see…read moreI completely forgot to write this place up back in July and after visiting them only a few days ago (for a different reason), I realized a review needed to be penned. A four star compilation with mostly positive things to say. Let's get baking. Well, that summer trip actually involved breakfast. My wife and I trekked over to Centerport (on her birthday actually), for a quaint breakfast inside this small bake shop. The menu and its enticing Insta pics really brought us here and so we got both coffee and a morning meal. That aforementioned menu is quite vast and with so much to choose from, we decided to split "The Famished Breakfast" which included all kinds of tasty options (eggs, bacon, pancakes, fried cheese, tostones, and more). To nitpick, some items listed and some that we got weren't exactly the same, but to also be fair, everything was delicious. Equally delicious might be their variety of savory pies. They have so many to choose from, but you have to either call ahead or be lucky with what they have. Two made their way home with us (the piggy mac and the chopped cheese) which were consumed shortly after our visit with both being dense and rich, but definitely tasty. Not as equally delicious might be their coffee. Yeah, I think I've turned into a bit of a snob as these days I'm looking for legitimacy in the coffee itself and not just some pretty pics and cool flavors. Though Hometown has quite a variety of options, I'd say that if you're looking for some strong coffee, this wouldn't be the spot. If you're looking for some great breakfast and crullers, well... And therein lies our most recent trip: crullers. Hometown doles out a plethora of cruller options, but only on Sundays. Get there early (like pre-opening by 15-20 minutes at least) to be sure you snag whichever flavors they're going to have (check Instagram). Knowing we were going to share with a bunch of other people, we chose a dozen to try, but heed my words, these things are gargantuan! Also, they won't last long in preserving so if you have any leftovers, don't expect them to be good past the day you bought them. But in the moment while they're fresh, you'll be in cruller heaven after one bite (especially if you try the death by chocolate one). Overall, hometown Bakeshop is a legitimate place for everything they concoct in an oven (throw in stovetop too). Yeah perhaps their coffee sounds better than it tastes, but that might just be me wanting something a little more coffee forward. Beyond that discrepancy, I'd gladly return to Hometown for breakfast, pies, crullers, or who knows what else? Come and get some!

The two girls behind the counter were so sweet, welcoming and helpful. I told them I've never been and they took the time to go over the menu and make suggestions. I ordered a toasted marshmallow latte and an açaí bowl. I didn't get a toasted marshmallow taste, but it was still good. The açaí bowl was very good. They have a little menu that you can pick and choose what you want in your bowl. I added some chocolate chips and coconut. It was so fresh, flavorful and filling. There's ample seating and WiFi available. I was able to get some work done while in a peaceful environment. For my medium latte and açaí bowl it was about $15. I'd say that's very reasonable. But the pièce de résistance, the glue that brings your taste buds to their knees, the tots. If you don't like tots, you're wrong. And these tots were somehow crispy and soft. No oil, no sog. The biggest positive was the staff. Everyone was extremely friendly, welcoming, and happy to answer questions. I ordered a cold brew with nonfat milk but was disappointed to learn that nonfat was not available, so I went with 2% instead. Unfortunately, the coffee was bitter rather than smooth, which is normally one of the qualities I enjoy most about cold brew. I also tried the blueberry scone. It was just OK--perfectly edible, but not particularly memorable. For comparison, the cranberry walnut scone at Gregorys Coffee is considerably better. Brewology offers an extensive selection of creative drinks and attractive pastries, so other customers may have better luck with one of the specialty beverages. Still, the prices felt a bit high for what I received. Between the appealing setting, interesting menu, and exceptionally kind staff, there is potential here, but the coffee and scone did not quite justify the cost for me.
