We stayed at 16A Delaware Ave. Pros: Location, location, location, hands down. The house was adequate for our large party of 13 people. Cons: We were never told that the small cottage behind the house was a rental property as well. As a courtesy to those renters we shuffled around our cars in the driveway to make it easier for them to move in and out. Transparency is needed here. Prior to moving in with our party, one of whom has mobility issues, we had *no idea* of the layout of the house or bedrooms. It would have been good to know beforehand which bedroom had which bed configurations: For example: Lower level, 1 queen, 2 twins etc. The information provided to us did not include this. So I brought a lot of bedding from home for various types of beds and hoped for the best. *The house does not have a broom.* Please rectify. The vacuum was used for messy floors, but a broom would have been better especially for the sand on the porch and in the bathrooms. read more

We recently rented 66 Henlopen Ave in Rehoboth through Jack Lingo and unfortunately had a very negative experience due to the condition of the home. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the property was unsafe and uninhabitable due to mold and mildew issues. The overwhelming smell of mildew hit us the moment we opened the door, and within minutes we developed headaches. The carpet by the front door was damp, adding to the unhealthy environment. When we called Jack Lingo immediately upon arrival, our concerns were dismissed. We were told the property had been "rented heavily throughout the season," as if that somehow undermined or excused the condition of the home. They also refused to refund any money, claiming the problem was due to the AC being set to "on" instead of "auto." This explanation is not credible, as an AC setting does not cause widespread mildew, damp carpet, and an overwhelming smell the moment guests arrive. Beyond the mildew, the home was simply not maintained to a professional standard. We found a spider on a pillow in one of the bedrooms, cobwebs throughout the corners of the house, dirty dishes, and greasy residue on the countertops. These conditions made it clear the property had not been properly cleaned or prepared for guests. The one positive was that the outdoor porch and shower were wonderful, but that in no way offsets the unsafe and unsanitary condition of the home itself. Thank goodness we had the means to immediately get a hotel room so our vacation wasn't ruined. However, the next renter may not be as fortunate, and no one should be subjected to these conditions on what should be a relaxing vacation. The fact remains: a house in this condition should never have been on the rental market in the first place. We share this review not out of anger, but to warn future renters to ask direct questions about property condition and to hold the agency accountable for the homes they represent. Travelers deserve transparency, safety, and basic habitability when booking a vacation rental through a trusted local agency. read more

Returning after our 4th annual cousin's reunion to Rehoboth Beach, it was quite memorable and in no small part to the unit we rented which was spacious and beautiful, and the top notch service we received from Lingo Realty. The past 3 visits were contracted through Lingo, and we look forward to our 5th visit next summer and of course we plan to use Lingo. It is impressive how well oiled of a process they have to check you in and out and they carry their commitment to putting the customer's needs first by responding to our queries. While this trip was without any issues, a few past trips had minor issues with the A/C and a call was placed after hours and I got a call and a technician was sent to get everything working. I applaud and organization that values quality customer service and that's why we'll be back next summer. read more

We rented 26 Columbia Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, in June 2025. Everything was fine, except the two upstairs window a/c units would stop when it got to be too hot (90 degrees). We called Jack Lingo a number of times about the problem. They sent someone out to look at it, but they never fixed the problem. read more

Think Motel 6 with a $1000 a night price tag. It reminded me of my road trips in college when I tried to spend as little as possible. The location was amazing But that's where it ended. Sheets and towels were left in a bag so I had to make up all the beds and the linens all smelled burned and felt stiff and abrasive And also came with a price tag of around $350!Half of the windows downstairs had missing cranks or cranks that didn't work. Stains on interior pillows and furniture. No closet in the master bedroom. No extra bedding. Spider webs. Dirty dishes. Mold and mildew in the master shower. Squirrels living in the ceiling. No beach chairs. Had to buy my own toilet paper, paper towels, garbage bags, dish soap. It was embarrassing to have guests stop by and I would never use them again. Vacationers should think twice about renting through Lingo. In August 2024, I rented 204 Laurel through Lingo and was informed on the day of my arrival that the washer/dryer was broken. While I would have packed differently if I knew this, it wasn't going to ruin my vacation. My Lingo agent, Alondra Sorbie, informed me of my rental that technicians would arrive in the morning of my third rental day to replace the unit. They arrived hours late and blocked the driveway with their trucks, which is problematic because summertime parking in Rehobeth is difficult and we couldn't get our cars in or out. It wouldn't be a big deal except that the replacement went on for four hours. The technicians were not prepared to complete the task and borrowed items from the kitchen. They used the bathroom without asking. They made weird comments to my children. My wife didn't feel comfortable leaving them in the house and stayed there instead of going to the beach. After four hours, they realized that the unit didn't fit the space and left with the replacement unresolved. Alondra was onsite for the first 2 hours and remained outside and was ineffective in managing the situation. I wrote Alondra that night explaining that we did not want them to return during our stay because it was so disruptive. The next morning, I received a call from Alyssa, another Lingo agent saying that the replacement needed to proceed because "it wouldn't be fair to other renters". I had to share the details of the previous day and Alyssa agreed to work it out with the owner to postpone the replacement. I asked about compensation and Alyssa explained that I would need to speak to Alondra, who was out of the office until the 2nd to last day of my rental. This is a typical pattern with Lingo where the agent cannot make decisions on their own and must defer to other unknown parties. Alondra did not call me on Friday upon her return; I called her in the afternoon to ask about compensation. She had no answers on how this should be addressed and I asked her to consult with here colleagues and get back to me. She assured me to she would reach me that day. I did not hear from her. On Saturday I returned the keys and spoke to Alondra in person. She still had no answers on compensation. I later heard from her explaining that the owner would provide a 4.5% rebate or $150 for an inoperable major appliance. There was no consideration for the time and inconvenience monitoring the failed replacement, going to the laundromat or communicating with Lingo. Renters should know that if something goes wrong with your house, Lingo will not advocate on behalf of the renter and sides with the owners even though the rental agreement is with Lingo and not the owner. I don't fault Alondra, I believe that her response is reflective of the Lingo business model and culture. As Alondra shared in an email, "we are at the mercy of the owner". I wouldn't have cared if the appliance was never replaced; the real problem was Lingo's incompetence in managing the replacement. read more

This is the fourth time I have rented through Lingo and by far the worst experience. We rented 102 West St and when we arrived numerous tiles were missing from the wall in the shower. The house was not clean. There were multiple ant traps full of dead ants and a bowl of some oily substance on the kitchen counter with a sign that said not to remove it as it was trapping flies. The barbecue, roof furniture and umbrella were all ripped up and completely unusable. The kitchen and bowls and pots and pans were all dirty and we ended up not using the kitchen once. I emailed Lingo multiple times and got a very unsatisfactory response. They sent someone to fix the tiles two days after we checked in but not address any of the other issues or even apologize. We found them to be unresponsive and uncaring and won't use them again in the future. read more

We recently rented 18b Christian from Billy at Jack Lingo. This is a great house. it's fairly new and we've stayed there twice now, in 2021 and 2024. The rental process was easy. We were pleasantly surprised by some updates to the house since our last stay. The only complaint I would have is it appeared that the floor in the 1st floor bedroom had not been swept/mopped before our arrival as it was gritty. We did report an issue with a shower curtain rod being loose and with ants primarily in the kitchen and Alyssa was able to send someone out the first day to fix the shower rod and brought liquid ant bait traps which helped the problem tremendously. Last year we stayed in an older house and we did have issues with a mold smell there so we decided to stick to the newer properties or places we've stayed previously. read more

We have rented the same townhouse for 3 years now and are quite pleased with it. The location is ideal, and the size is fine for our usually 6-person group. We've come across a few problems - but they have been dealt with in a quick and reasonable way . We've dealt with several agents and all have been nice and responsive. We've always gotten the linen package and this year the larger 'beach' towels were much improved! The few suggestions I would make are 1) have the cleaning crew put a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom, 2) add some silverware to the rental ( there's only enough for one meal), and offer more keys on check-in. read more

I rented a home from Jack Lingo for the first time this year for our family vacation in Dewey Beach. The house we rented was amazing. The service from Jack Lingo is also fantastic. I notified them of a broken blender and they brought me a new one over the same day! I think they have excellent customer service. My only complaint is that checkout is at 9 am...meaning keys need to be returned by 9 to their office. I understand that the home needs to be cleaned but I rent every year and this was by far the earliest checkout I have encountered. Even 10 am would make a big difference. The rental property we rented was amazing and was suggested by Dave, our contact, after I sent him some properties I was interested in. It was a great value for a large group (8), clean, well supplied. We had one maintenance issue and they sent someone out right away to fix it. My only suggestion would be, and I know it must be logistically difficult, but having checkout at 9am the day you leave is a bit early. My family has rented Rehoboth properties through Lingo for many years and always has been pleased with the outcome. This was the first year I made the arrangements, and from 1200 miles away, was a little concerned, but it was a breeze. Any questions, quickly answered via email or phone. Check-in, quick and easy. We leave tomorrow, so I can't comment on check-out, but we don't anticipate any issues. This rental is like my dream house -- and not only did I get to live in it for a week, but it's only two blocks from the beach! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! Realtors are apathetic, condescending and very unhelpful. They now have a strong hold on the rental market - so what you can to rent from someone else or straight from owner. When we signed our lease it was straight through the homeowner through the Homeaway app but the house sold and Jack Lingo took over. Multiple emails/phone calls went unanswered requiring multiple follow ups. They couldn't help me with a crib rental company (isn't this your job??) - I did the research myself. When the garbage wasn't being picked up during our stay they were most unhelpful. A month after our stay, they deducted money from our security deposit. The form they sent me said carpet cleaning but when I called to inquire they said it was a spot on the couch. There were no spots. They said it was out of their control and that they would follow up with the "investigator" - 5 days later I'm still waiting for a call back. We left that house cleaner than when we arrived (we had to sweep, run the dishwasher, etc). I paid an extra $250 to bring my dog - what was that for?? Ridiculous all around. Save your energy and a potential headache and when you visit this idyllic destination, rent straight through the owner. TERRIBLE!! read more

I'm disappointed with myself for not checking these reviews prior to booking through Jack Lingo. The rental itself was fine albeit not perfect, but Jack Lingo charged me almost $150 for a stain on a table that the owner alleges happened during our stay. The owner claims the property is inspected between renters and that it was not there prior to my arrival, but clearly this could've been missed in prior inspections and/or caused by the cleaning crew. Despite my repeated statements that we did not stain this table, Jack Lingo deducted the amount from my security deposit. We paid $2,000 for a 3 night rental only to get nickel and dimed like this and have our honesty called into question? Jack Lingo falsely advertises their properties, especially 27 Virginia Ave in Rehoboth Beach, DE. The pictures were not updated from the sale of the property. The new owners put much cheaper furniture in the house and Lingo never updated the pictures. We relied on Lingos advertising when we rented this home as we couldn't see the inside when we looked at the house. Lingo took no responsibility for the error and blamed the owner for not telling them to update the pictures. We rented from Lingo not the owners. Lingo only apologized for the area but offered no compensation for their false advertising. Don't use Lingo and don't rent 27m Virginia Ave without looking at the house first read more

Very disappointing experience. We had rented a home with a pool that was under construction, but we were told that it would be completed by the end of July. After several requests for updates and being told they had no updates, we took a ride to the house at the end of July...and it was not even fully enclosed. Only then when I sent photos to the realtor, did I receive a response that we could rent another home. This "backup" house was nice, the location was good, but the pool was extremely disappointing (think large 4 ft deep bathtub!). Not likely that we will rent from them again. read more

This time however our rental was horrid as far as maintaining the home, which is within an ocean block, so you DO pay top dollar for this convience..... There were numerous major issues that the owner was negligent to fix in a timely manner before my arrival. Maintenace men had to deploy to our rental. I have talked to my agent about this issue, and I am still not happy with this situation. Ther is a expectation and a demand when you pay top dollar. If I could select zero stars, I would. Avoid this rental company. Notice their property listings do not allow for transparent customer reviews (reviews need to go thru them to be posted). And avoid renting the property at 204 Laurel. We rented from Jack Lingo August 2024 and had a terrible experience. Place was OK, but washing machine was broken up arrival (no mention about it at check in at the main office; but we found a " do not use" sign on it when we arrived at the house). We had packed, knowing we had a laundry machine on site. When we called about it, several days later they sent a crew of three(!) men who were incompetent, weird, made themselves at home in our rental for much of the day, walked into our bedrooms, used our bathroom(!), as well as used items in kitchen, stayed for hours - and still did NOT fix the broken washing machine (which is why they were there in the first place). We, and our guests, were very uncomfortable with them on site. I stayed on site all day to wait for them to leave and keep an eye on our belongings - after many hours of trying to replace the broken washing machine they finally left, leaving a new washing machine that was too large to fit under the stairs sticking out into our living room - as well as left pots in the middle of the living room floor that they took from our kitchen(!) to collect water while they disconnected hoses, etc. Said they'd be back the next day to try to replace it (again) with a right sized one. No thank you. When we reached out to the rental company to follow up, they were no help at all - said they were "at the mercy of the owners". Oh, but they did offer us a $150 credit. Wow. $150! for a wasted entire day at the beach house, no washing machine working all week in our rental, AND we got to spend an entire morning (at our expense) at the local laundromat to do our laundry. Speechless. Will never rent from Jack Lingo again and suggest all AVOID the property at 204 Laurel. Great location but terrible experience. read more

Worst realtors in Rehoboth! We checked in at 4:00 at 4:09 I called the office to say the house had not been cleaned and requested cleaners to come back out, Karen assured me she would call and talk to them and have them back out. She called me back and said they would be here in 15min. I called them right before they closed at 5 and told them they never showed up and we needed to go buy linens and food and tell them to pick up a key because we won't be there. We got back around 6 only to find the house had not been cleaned. Then spent several hours trying to reach the after hours, finitely after telling them that I have kids that need to go to bed and we would be staying in a hotel that night they got back to us and had someone come out to clean at 8:30. I asked if they were the ones that originally supposedly cleaned to begin with and she said she was the owner and was shocked at how dirty the house was! The stove had food on it, the kitchen floor had a box of cereal all over it, one bathroom had a dirty towel hanging from the shower and someone's else's body wash. There are many other realtors in Rehoboth, I highly suggest using someone else, next time, we will! read more
