Jack Russell brewing in Apple Hill area is such a great place. A very wide selection of beer and ciders available, there were 30 choices on our visit. Staff was very friendly and let us try a few before we settled in our choices. We went during Winter so their hours are different than shown on google or even their website. They opened at Noon on Saturday. Some days they have food trucks and entertainment, we went just a few days after a snow storm so the place was pretty quiet. Really nice brewery in Apple Hill with a wine "cave" in the back. It's not really a cave, more of a little room. We got drinks there and I had a flight, they let you mix and match anything on the menu up to 6 items so I tried most of the ciders and let me tell you, even the flight size will get you feeling toasty! No lager's or other light beers options on the rotating menu on the day we visited. Staff seemed a little short staffed on a busy Sunday. Food shuts down at 4pm and we just missed it. I love coming to Jack Russell Farm Brewery. I even spent one of my birthdays here with friends and family. I am a fan of Jack Russells and I am a fan of beer so I really do love this spot. It is a must stop especially if I am exploring other businesses in the Apple Hill area. I love that I can get a flight and choose what I want. From stouts, ciders, sours to IPAs, this place has a lot to offer. I do like when a food vendor is there. When were were last there, no one was there and they were busy even when they opened. This is just a popular spot! I did see families bring games and playing outside at the table area and I do recommend you do this because it is fun! Always love stopping here when making stops at various apple hill spots. They have a wide selection of craft beers, ports, ipas, wines ciders and even mead! I went with a flight of blackberry, raspberry, boysenberry, apple, peach, and mead for a nice tasting. All the ciders were light and delicious and didn't taste overly sweet. Inside there were tables and some items for purchase including apparel and mix&match four packs of beer, big patio outside with tables and umbrellas, plus tables on the lawn too. There were a couple food trucks but only 1 was open and it looked like they normally have a kitchen as well but it was closed the day we went (it may just be open on the weekends). Narrow lot for parking but we found a space. Nice restroom area. It was a nice day and sitting outside was just perfect. read more

Tasted their vanilla stout and the red -- opted for the latter. Well done on a style that's not always easy to nail. My GF opted for one of their VEGAN Peaches & Cream slushies -- which tasted amazing! -- and then a boysenberry hard cider which was also very good. Nice grounds with tables and umbrellas, taco truck on site as your food source. Only drawback was the presence of a lot of kids, many more or less left on their own to roam and mar what otherwise was a really nice experience. read more

This is one of my favorite breweries in the area. They have a lot of options to try. We were greeted right away and I ordered a flight because they have so many choices. There is a large outside area with tables to enjoy. We brought our dog and he loves to walk around and smell the flowers. The ambiance is great here and the food is just food trucks. The reason for one star is because of the bathroom situation! Be advised there are no bathrooms with changing tables! I went and asked the lady serving beer today if I could have a key to the bathroom so I could change my daughter. She said no changing tables! That was it and not even a sorry. There are only porta potties here! The porta potties are also across the parking lot. So if you have any babies or toddlers, I would not come here if you need to change them! read more

The in laws enjoyed ending the day with beer. The disappointment was no variety of food. We thought there was food for lunch there like burgers and fries, but there was a taco truck on site. So if u werent up for mexican then you just got the hard cider and beer. The view is great! The open space patio had plenty of seatjng to sit and visit. The atmosphere was laid back and pleasant. However, I was underwhelmed by my visit to Jack Russel Farm. We did a cider tasting and also ordered the wildflower mead. The ciders were all okay, nothing great, but also nothing that could have been better either. The flavors were lackluster; most tasted very similar and were missing depth. I was hoping that as a brewery (in Apple Hill especially), there would be more potential flavors. I didn't notice much difference from the cider tasting at Boa Vista (which is equally underwhelming). I'm a big fan of hard ciders, and other breweries locally offer a much better selection with bolder tastes. The mead was unique but not my cup of tea. Glad I tried it through. The cider tasting was $18, and the pours were pretty large, so it was a good deal, just not that great flavor-wise. There was a BBQ food stand on-site, so we ordered a tri-tip sandwich with a side of the beans. It was good; however, for $18, it was not worth the price. I would not eat here again as it was nothing to write home about and a total rip-off for the portion size and quality. The atmosphere was relaxing and laid back. There were many picnic tables, benches, and umbrellas to sit back and enjoy your drinks/food. The farm is in Apple Hill, so there were pretty fall colors in November but not the best views. Unfortunately, they locked/closed their public bathrooms all fall season, so the only option is the portapotties. This was disappointing for the size/scale of the facility, especially since they are an actual brewery serving both foods and drinks. Not sure that I would be back, especially not year after year. However, it was fine to try a new place when visiting and do their cider tasting. They offer beer tastings as well (maybe the beers are better), but we didn't go for that so I can't speak to this. There seemed to be plenty of parking all around the edges of the farm (With the ability to walk up from 3/4 of the sides) so this was not an issue. Parking is free. Walk to the barn is generally flat, although it is gravel. read more

Potato salad was a nice and food safety cold, kinda hurt my sensitive teeth but the flavor was cute! I like my potato salad on more of the sour side which I loved. We were visiting Apple Hill an looking for a bite to eat. We didn't have the teens with us so we're kind of looking to avoid the crowds of kiddos at the Apple farms. We found Jack Russell which had a food truck on site at its cidery/brewery. The property is a farm, with a large building for brewing and a bar. The exterior has tons of picnic tables and in the back is a small deck with a few more tables. There was a food truck on site called Betty's Balls serving tapas (some small and large plates) like sliders, meatball of the day, and pretzels beer cheese. Yum! The weather was gorgeous, we went inside and grabbed a flight of ciders/mead-wine/wine and took or brew and food to a table out back that was more private and quiet. They had gluten free crust available, which is perfect for me. For others who are gluten free, this brewery serves hard ciders and wine as well, so those are gluten free drink choices. For drinks, I had hard cider peach and it was just so-so, but another cider drinker in my group had the rasberry one and thought that was good.
