While visiting a friend in Pollock Pines on Saturday, we stopped by Blue Barn Provisions for lunch, and it was such a charming find! The entire place has a cute, farm-style feel--very country, open, and spacious. They offer outdoor seating as well as beautiful long, communal wooden tables inside. There's a small open kitchen where you can watch the staff preparing the food, and the restrooms were clean and surprisingly spacious. They also carry local donuts, which were absolutely worth trying. We had the apple fritter, which was soft and delicious with the perfect crispy exterior. Our favorite was the almond bar--it was delicate, flaky, buttery, and so good. We also tried a cookie that was equally delicious. For lunch, we ordered the turkey sandwich, which was piled high with turkey and crisp vegetables, the bourbon bacon jam toast with melted brie, and a classic BLT. We kept it simple with water, which is available as self-serve. It was a beautiful day to enjoy the outdoor space. They have cornhole and bocce available to play around the property, adding to the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. The staff was incredibly kind, and they also have a small market area featuring drinks, local products, and other items for sale. The entire place is quaint and adorable, both inside and out. I was bopping about Apple Hill recently. Yes, in early June and not even Apple season. There's still alot to do and see right now. Such as stopping by Blue Barn Provisions. It's a cafe of sorts serving salads, sandwiches, light eats, and pastries; local crafted ciders, beers and wines. Farm to fork concept here. Fresh and local. The food and drinks can be ordered at the counter. The seating is mostly outdoor tables which are all shaded. There is one long shared pub height table inside. The interior decor is clean, modern, and bright. Almost like brand new. The place gives off modern, vintage tractor farmhouse vibes. It's relaxed a gathering place for locals or folks just passing through. They don't rush folks through. Good eats and drinks in a chill vibe. The clientele is diverse and welcoming vibes. I saw customers of all ethnic backgrounds, They also have a bocce court and a cute compact koi pond. Hours of operation: Thursday -Monday 11am-4pm. Oh I almost forgot to tell ya. Stopped by with my large family Saturday morning, and we are so glad we did! Blue Barn Provisions is the perfect way to start your day at Apple Hill, with filling portions and delicious food items. The barn itself has a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors, and it feels cozy overall. The staff is wonderful, cheerful, and so friendly! There were 9 of us, but they were thrilled to take our order and happily offered recommendations. I ordered the apple pie French toast on brioche bread, and it was so good! The bread was fresh and the apples paired so well with the sweet whipped cream. It didn't taste too eggy, which I thoroughly enjoyed. What a cute little restaurant in the hills! They have so many outside tables with shade included. They have lunch and breakfast selections as well as yummy baked goods like their apple fritter and Thai snickerdoodle. We tried the BLT, pork tacos, brisket sando and chicken salad. My wife and 5 friends went to have a wonderful lunch out together. One lady asked for some ice and was rudely told to "just go to the cooler" in another area. The wait person came over and asked how everything was. One lady said she really didn't care for the sandwich she got. Rather than ask what was wrong or was there anything they could do to make it right, the waitperson snidely said "Well, everyone else likes it" and turned and walked away. I understand people having an off day, but this is NOT how patrons should be treated when they come to your establishment to enjoy lunch and friendship. Ordered the pulled pork tacos and the brisket sandwich. Best brisket and pulled pork in CA. Tender, juicy and awesome portions. Solid tap menu we got 2 local ipa's which were awesome. We also got the honey pistachio cheese cake to go and ate it for dessert for our home dinner and it was OUTSTANDING. What a hidden treasure! Off to a side, thank goodness for Yelp which helped direct us to this great eatery. The overall vibe was rustic but very cute and hip at the same. Definitely stood out to me for being in Apple Hill. There was a cute flower shop with boutique goods right next to it. Definitely ample seating and friendly staff. This seemed like a lesser known spot, located right along the freeway but parking wasn't too bad. It's a nice place for an actual meal, rather than snack food you'll find at most of the farms. It's counter service style here then they'll bring out food for you. There are a good amount of tables outside and then a few inside also. I liked the little camp chair seating around the bocce ball court. They also had a small area with pumpkins for sale, and a petting area for their cute two donkeys and a goat. The food was pretty good but wouldn't go out of my way for it, but would still consider it to get a full meal in between all the Apple Hill farm hopping. read more

Came here to have lunch on Mother's Day. Totally random pick never been here before. I wanted to try it out since it sounded good and also it's close to Apple Hill. I had the roasted turkey sandwich with a side of macaroni salad and homemade pickles. It was SO good!! I also got to sample the beef brisket. That was good, too. My wife was looking for a place to each brunch before tackling Apple Hill this year and she found Blue Barn Provisions. Boy am I glad she found this place. We must have drove past here every year and never really thought of stopping to see what offerings they had. We usually just eat at one of the farms at Apple Hill. We ordered the Smoked Brisket on Ciabatta Sandwich (good, but the brisket could be more smoky and needed a stronger tasting BBQ sauce), BLT Sandwich, Tomato Mozzarella Sandwich, Kitchen Sink Brunch and the Apple Pie French Toast. Everything was tasty overall. They also had various beer on tap as well as some wines. They have some grab and go items and charcuterie board if you opt to just get that from their refrigerators. They have some pickled items and jams, etc for purchase as well. They have seating inside as well as outside. Today, it was a very hot day due to a heat wave, so we opted to sit inside. Aside from their tasty food, their service was exceptional! Everyone was super friendly and I can't remember the last time I ate at a place where we got asked how everything was by just about every member of the staff here. We were here about an hour and were asked how everything was at least 5-6 times. I think we will have to make this an annual stop when we come to Apple Hill and will probably stop here when we go to or come back from South Lake Tahoe (right off of Hwy 50 on Carson Ct). read more

Came here for a wellness event with a large group of people. The atmosphere is really nice. Plenty of seating and I bet it looks really nice with the string lights on. Food: brisket sandwich was the best out of our party's options. definitely recommend. The shrimp salad someone else had also looked good and had a generous portion of large shrimp. The tacos were disappointing- the tortilla was super cold and seemed like they didn't heat it up. Also, the actual filling was a little stingy. The charcuterie was pretty bare too for the price but it was a good combination of flavors The Oktoberfest beer they had was delicious and they had a good variety of drinks so everyone in our party could get what they wanted. Saw this place recently as we were driving home from Tahoe for the weekend and made a mental note to stop there next time we were going to be in the area. This time I stopped on the way into Tahoe, but I called ahead in case they weren't open. Confirm they were open and stopped to pick up a sandwich and a couple of treats. The turkey sandwich was good. The cowboy cookie was very good as well as the lavender rosemary butter cookie that I selected. The place inside is charming with little sections to sell jams, drinks and other gifts. There is outside patio seating as well as a bocce ball court and a separate little store selling other small gifts, but I didn't go in. I was helped by a friendly young man, and he was the only staff member there at the time that I could see, but he was attentive, even though he had been making lunch items for his customers. The person I had talked to on the phone beforehand was also very nice. They sell beer as well which I made a mental note for my husband so he can join me next time. I will definitely be back to try other menu items as they have brunch selections as well. They are open on Thursday to Monday weather permitting. The gentleman I talked to said they're mostly open year-round but when it's a heavy snow year, obviously they wouldn't be. I would suggest calling ahead of time to make sure that they're open, but I think they should be since we're now into the spring and summer season. read more

So I'm at my weekend fix today, Blue Barn Provisions in Camino near Apple Hill, 4/1/2025. I waited until Sunday so it's much less busy at 2pm and ordered lunch. It's a casual outdoor, dog friendly, bocce ball throwin', wine by the glass lunch spot that is so inviting, it's an extension of home. The family owned place has a vibe set today by Loraine and Jeff the bandit who both live close-ish to this situation, so they can recommend the beers on tap and wines by the glass for you. Loved this place! My family and I took a spontaneous trip to Apple Hill over the weekend and decided to stop in for a quick lunch before heading home. They have lots of premade food options as well as food you can order - we ordered the Spicy Prawn Salad and grabbed the premade Charcuterie Board to share as well. Both options were great! We also tried the Drunken Cherry Cheesecake that was so good! Great beer and non-alcoholic beverages available - free water station! Free dog treats for your fur babies! Staff was super friendly, gave great recommendations and checked on us multiple times! There were plenty of seating inside as well as outside. We sat outside and enjoyed the view with lots of flowers, butterflies and even a couple of Roosters! They offer dinners in their barn which I would love to check out one of these times! The yellow umbrella's caught our attention driving past on the highway. Super conveniently located for a visit to High Hill Ranch. Food is tasty, but not consistent. Three of us ordered the same thing (turkey brie on country bread with peach jam) and each of us had a different kind of bread which resulted in variation in size too. The toppings on mine were delicious, and I loved the melty brie, but it was between two slices of baguette approximately the size of bruschetta. After the first sandwich came, on ciabatta, we were told that they were out of the ciabatta (not country bread?) but not given a choice for replacement or warned that the other bread was smaller.
