Real estate isn't just a weekend hobby for her. It's her life. It all starts with a visit to your home. There, she'll asses the value of your place, suggest some inexpensive updates, and even offer some staging ideas. Depending on the state of your home (ours was looking pretty dated), your property could be ready for listing in as early as a week. Or in our case, as late as a month. As you might assume, it's a lot easier to sell a home when no one is living in it. Unfortunately, we didn't have that option, so Lorette had to work around our busy schedules. That meant hiding all of our personal belongings at a moment's notice (for those sudden showing requests), and actually making our bed every day, like civilised people. All the while, we were in the process of figuring out where we wanted to buy our next home.
