Called to setup an appointment today for getting a tire replaced.l was told by the manager yea bring it over and we will get you in. Now I get over here, I ask how long. Manager tells me he has three guys not doing anything so they can get me right in. I been here 40 mins and I'm still staring at my truck outside. I'm here to get 1 tire installed. People are coming in after me, and they are taking their vehicles in right away. I'm about to flip out, this is the worst service I ever received. Update got here at 1125am Thursday, still haven't taken my truck in after an hour and 20 mins of waiting. Asking for keys back now and leaving. I'll never use Mavis again. I'm calling corporate too. Given the car's performance-oriented suspension, I wanted to ensure the alignment was done properly. - The tire installation was completed, but it took significantly longer than the estimated time. - The alignment however seemed rushed, and I had to bring the car back because the steering felt off. - There was little to no communication during the process, and when I asked for an update, I was met with vague responses and disinterest. What really concerned me was the general lack of urgency and attention to detail from the staff. Technicians seemed hurried, and it felt like they were prioritizing volume over quality. I understand that Mavis operates on high turnover, but when it starts impacting the work being done, it's a red flag. Workmanship & Road Test Once I got the car back, I immediately noticed that the steering still felt slightly off-center. I took it for a drive and, sure enough, the alignment wasn't dialed in properly. Additionally, one of the new tires was underinflated, something that should have been checked before handing the car back. I returned to have the alignment adjusted, and while they did attempt to correct it, the experience left me questioning whether quality control is a priority at this location. Final Verdict: You Get What You Pay For Mavis Discount Tire may offer sort of lower prices, but based on my visit, it comes at the cost of rushed work, poor communication, and an overall disorganized experience. Much like a fast food chain this place seems to mostly employee teenagers, so If you're looking for the absolute cheapest option, you'll probably get what you need eventually but if you care about proper service, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. I had a rewarding experience this week. I had purchased my tires from Mavis and had the warranty. However, I didn't want to waste time making an appointment for a low air indicator. So, I pulled up to the free air station, dressed in work attire, to fill my tires. A really nice employee came out and offered to help. Not sure what all the negative reviews were all about but my husband and I were just there last week and we could not recommend this place more - the customer service was great, everyone was friendly and polite. Long story short, we had purchased a used pick up truck from the original owner a few weeks ago and we were driving it to visit my husband's parents in PA from out of state. Anyway, my husband noticed abnormal vibration, especially at higher speeds - 65+ miles per hour and he felt like something was off with the truck. We called Jack Williams that day (late Saturday of July 4th weekend) and they were able to get us in that day. We got all 4 tires changed on his pick up truck and basically had the whole suspension changed - struts, shocks, ball joints, and brakes. Anyway, after we left the truck there Saturday night and retuned to pick it up Monday (they were closed on Sunday) we came back to a brand new truck. I brought in a set of brand new aftermarket wheels to have BF Goodrich KO2's mounted and balanced. The customer service was good. However when I came back to pick up the wheels I noticed that 2 of the 4 wheels were scratched from the mounting machine. I immediately took the wheels to my detailer to have the scratched taken care of. While taking the wheels out several wheel weights completely fell off the wheel. On top of that, the TPMS was not mounted correctly in one of the tires and pieces could be heard rattling around inside the wheel. I took the wheels to a private tire shop to have the tires rebalanced and the TPMS fixed. There was no way that I would go back to have Mavis try to fix their poor workmanship. I made an appointment for inspection. Arrived as first customer waiting. Fourty five minutes later told computer is down and are unable to finish inspection. They did the oil change and safety check however. I was told my serpentine belt needs replaced due to it being cracked. I got a quote for price but also asked if I could havy keys to look at the belt. My car was already out of the bay! I looked and could not visually even with flashlight any cracks. I asked to have it pointed out and a mechanic came out. He treated me like I was ignorant and made statements that offered me as a female. He then walked away not sowing me any cracks etc. I went back in and was told I would get a call about computer running and a second opinion on belt. Neither happened. I ended up having to go elsewhere! Belt was fine!! i agree the place has gone downhill since changes. read more

This place has the worst customer service I've ever experienced. If you value your time and money, go literally anywhere else but here. They inspected my car, failed me and then told me their inspection unit was down and they had no clue when their inspector would be back making it impossible to get reinspected. When I called to let them know my frustration with this, I was told there was absolutely nothing they could do and then the manager hung up on me when I asked his name. They tried to charge me 400 dollars for brakes and rotors. Go anywhere but here cause this place employs the bottom barrel rejects of society and all they do is rip people off here. read more

Terrible!!! I have been using this Jack Williams for years and have always been happy with the service. Now that it is owned by Mavis (I assume this is the reason), they do terrible work. I bought tires and when I went to pick the car up, 2 of the 4 wheels were completely scratched around the entire wheel. The wheels are grey and the paint is completely scraped off around 2 of the 4 wheels. Who does this???? And to put it out for pickup. The manager informed us they would get it fixed...I've had to call every week for 4 weeks and it still has not been fixed. They keep saying they will get back to me and never do. They have been lying and avoiding the situation. I will continue to fight until my wheels are fixed. I will NEVER use this establishment again. read more

Finally had enough and took my car out of there. Had no problem with the brakes or ABS so I really could not understand how the master cylinder could have gone bad sitting there. I took it to Johnson's Automotive across from the Plainfield Municipal building and he said the back brakes were not adjusted properly and the front left ABS sensor was too far away. Point is JW will screw up fixes, try to give you back your vehicle without even fixing things while breaking some things, losing your key, drain your battery and tell you you need things that you don't. Not sure what say here... I went in to get two FRONT snow tires on my front wheel drive car. They refused to put the snow tires on the front and said they can only put them on the back for "liability reasons". I explained my back tires are good and want the snow tires on the front and they said they will not do it. Took my car in for an inspection and flat repair. I was told my car's front struts were shot, which surprised me because the Honda dealer didn't have any concerns in August when I had the car in for a recall. I Told them I only wanted the flat repaired. When I got in my car, the Tire Pressure light was still on indicating low PSI. I stopped and put air in my tire because I didn't know it was supposed to be filled at the shop. The next morning, the Tire Pressure light was on again. When I called the next day, they told me to bring it in and didn't know why no one put air in the tire. I took the car in and was told that I had a second nail in the same exact tire and that's why it was still flat. The screw they gave me looked exactly like the screw that was in the tire. When I questioned why the light went off when I put air in it, but back on the next day they said it was because I had a nail in it. I was told the reason the Tire Pressure light was on was because they reset the sensor and it takes 25 miles for the pressure to register. My house is not 25 miles from Jack Williams. I had to pay for a second tire repair just to get my car and leave. The people that worked behind the counter were so rude and disrespectful, and spoke to me like I was wrong. I was extremely disappointed in the customer service and actions of these employees. I took my car in to get an inspection at a dealership, and guess what, my struts were not blown. We have used this Jack Williams for years and have taken multiple cars there. We will never use them again and strongly caution anyone that takes their car there. The only person that was truly helpful to me was the floating manager, Judy. She refunded me for one tire repair. read more

They have 2 stars for a reason. Listen to the reviews save yourself the time and money. Especially with inspections. They failed me for tires that were for the wrong load. They tried to sell me their $200 each tire and I refused fixed it over the weekend then was told I have to pay for the entire inspection again. Other jack williams would've honored the 10-day period and just made me pay for the stickers but not them they want as much as possible from every person. Staff was also bad like everyone hated being there just as much as the customers. Just save yourself and go somewhere else please. I've been going to this location for about 10 years. We have 4 drivers and 5 vehicles to maintain. I mostly went for tires and or alignments. Customer service and courtesy of the counter associates is ok at best on the last few visits. Last visit was worse than normal. I'm going to find somewhere else to go from now on. My last visit involved getting tires for a small SUV. Ok tire on vehicle is rated as a V (149 mph). First conversation with employee A says it's ok to go down 1 speed rating to H (130 mph), he recommends staying with a V though, says handling won't be as crisp. I'm ok with that, ride comfort will be better and after reading professional opinions on the topic from car and driver, consumer reports etc. felt comfortable that handling will only be affected slightly and most drivers won't feel the difference. 2 weeks later I have time to go buy the tires and employee B says "you can't do that" when I said I want the H rated tire. I said "yes you can". He then says "well H isn't one rating down from V". Yes, yes it is the next speed rating down from V. He then says "You have to sign a waiver and can't return tires if you don't like them". All of this in an argumentative tone. So which is it? Why did employee A say it's ok, employee B gives a major attitude? It continued all through the transaction. They get 2 stars because I'm happy with the tires and after I asked if they gave AAA discount he said no but did take $50 off the price (bought 4 tires). read more

What to say? It's probably best to throw your hard earned money in the trash and set it up in flames! Recently, moved into Forks Township and needed a set of new tires. Two months into driving, two of my tires had a bubble in the sidewall. Took it to the nearest mavis since I was far from home and was told all four tires were not balanced probably, and only had 50% of tire tread left. Reading all the reviews now, I am not surprised with all the one-star reviews. All this shop does is take your money, and tries to comment on reviews to give the impression that they care about their customers. I should mention the tires were supposed to be good for 50K miles, and that was a lie!!! If you care about your safety, you are better off getting tires at Wal-Mart!! I am sure once this review is posted some jerk is going to try and make up excuses for their lack of customer service and provide a phone number for me to cal. NO THANKS!! They sold my father tires 2years ago supposedly all weather ( which we specifically requested) for nearly 1000. Now less than 15k miles later he needs new tires. They did nothing so he went elsewhere and was told that they were NOT all weather but sport tires that are soft and wear out faster. The guy who lied about this is no longer with the company so my dad basically got screwed. I also found someone who went to have their car inspected a couple of months ago and was told it needed approximately 1800 worth of work to pass....they took it somewhere else and was told it was fine and passed. I got 4 Michelin tires, mounting, balancing, 4 wheel allignment... So far, so good. They let me use 2 separate coupons for $20 off the tires and $20 off the allignment, great. Now the party that cost to whole stars: they called for permission to change 4 marker bulbs that were out. Since the gentleman on the phone didn't offer pricing, I had to ask. "The two license plate bulbs are easily accessible so they'll only be $20 each. The other two in the front are going to be more difficult and are $42 a piece to change." I declined and got 4 bulbs from Napa for 72¢ each and replaced them in the driveway in around 20 minutes, having zero mechanical knowledge or ability. I just can't believe they would try to get consent to do a job before giving you the cost. So glad I asked. Saved $124 plus tax! I went in to change my tires, the balance was not done right I had to go back 3 times. Everyone in the front have a stinking attitude and they act like what they did wrong it's your fault. The 3 times I was there they never offer me a ride home while they fixed the tires I had to pay for a Lyft. Then I come to find out they offer rides home and back. They offered it to a customer even do I asked them if I could wait there while I wait for my Lyft. read more

I've been to this Jack Williams a few times in the past, but today I was really impressed with their honesty and service. My car died last night. I got it started, and I dropped it off around 11:30 today. All indications were that the alternator and battery needed to be replaced (minimum), and I was willing to pay for both. As it turns out, all the car needed was a new battery, and I had it back in just a couple hours! They could have easily gotten me for a few more bucks. The staff is always a pleasure to deal with, and honesty like this will keep me coming back. read more

The location in Bethlehem does not deserve a star . I paid for a 1 year warranty on wheel alignment for my van. Took my vehicle twice in 2 months, they didn't take the time to get the job done right. Stay away especially at inspection time , we took a less than 30,000 mile car there and somehow they decided it needed $800.00 worth of work much of it being unauthorized like a fuel system cleaning ? Seriously , at just 30,000 miles . It seems they are trying all those " dealer gimmicks" we all know are just ways to pickpocket you . They seem to take advantage of women too , it seems once I step in they change their tune . One of our cars needed an oil change. The alleged mechanic there drained the trans fluid and overfilled the oil . The car wouldn`t have made a mile except my Gf immediately noticed something wrong and drove it back . Requested two new tires front. When they were done, I looked at the tires and they weren't there. I looked in the back and there they were. I went inside and told him that I wanted the FRONT tires replaced and he said that their policy was to not do that, but put new tread on the rear. He would not change them. I then called their customer service at the 800 number and was told that it was to protect their company from lawsuits. This is NOT customer satisfaction in any way. I would not recommended taking your car here for inspection. I made an appt. for an inspection and snow tire change over online and scheduled the shuttle. Upon arriving at my appt. time and asking about the shuttle I was greeted with a confused look, so as not to ruffle feathers I said I would wait. Well.... 4 HOURS LATER I was told they wouldn't pass me for inspection (that I got done 2 months ago in NY) because the direction of my headlights was incorrect and that it would cost $30 to change it. I didn't have a choice so I had them do it for a grand total of freaking $173.98!!!!!! When I voiced my dissatisfaction due to my wait time and headlight debacle I was scolded for not having an appt. Well for all I knew I did, and showed them the email that was sent to me to confirm. Apparently they are supposed to call to confirm the appt which I didn't know.
