I have used this shop twice in the last 2 months, each time for a different car. The first time was for new tires and rims. They got me right in, and did a great job. So when my Mini Cooper code said it needed ANOTHER new thermostat, I was NOT going back to the dealership that I always suspected ripped me off. Joe, the mechanic at Meineke, replaced my thermostat, showed me the old one, and even flushed out the heater core while it was all apart. My code is resolved and my heat is so hot, I had no idea such heat was possible. My old thermostat looked like it was never replaced, in my opinion. In January, I took my truck into this shop for new brakes, oil change and inspection. They needed to change out my emergency brake shoes by draining my rear differential. I picked up vehicle and drove no more than 50 miles and experienced catastrophic rear differential damage. Based on my experience, I felt it was a result of their work on the part. Stopped in to see if the shop had my key for my locking lug nut from my last visit. Will the owner checked, they didn't but he came out with a breaker bar and socket and broke all four free for me. No Charge. As it turns out another shop must have broken the key since we found part of it stuck in one of the nuts.Will went above and beyond my expectations for no charge. I needed inspection & emissions. Will is a fabulous guy. My van needed a lot of work. Will called before doing any work. Explained everything in detail along with pricing. Will did what he could to get us the best prices on parts. When I picked up my van, he showed me all the parts that needed fixing/changing. He personally showed me the damage and it gave me peace of mind that I wasn't being played into paying more for things I did need! A week ago my mom brought her car in to be worked on as well! He went through the same thing with her. She had a break down of what needed to be fixed. Will is very personable! All around great guy. Almost $100 for an oil change. Way over priced, and they'll always manage to find $1000s of dollars worth of "needed" repairs in their "courtesy inspection". Bullsht artists. They listed things that "needed immediate attention" that I already had done very recently, so obviously a bold face lie. They have been completely negligent after we sent our car to them after an accident. They noted they have been working with our insurnace company but after confirming that with our insurance, they never had reached out. When we confronted Meineke about this, they were belligerent and disrespectful. They do not return calls or voicemails, blantantly lie that they are working on it. They said they have worked on our car, but they have not as we went and checked. They have a new excuse everytime. More than a muffler shop... My 2010 Chrysler convertible's body has been in pristine shape. It still looks nearly showroom new. Unfortunately after 98k miles something suddenly broke loose within the engine, sending metal shards throughout it, cracking open a valve cover and mangling lifters, the timing mechanism and turning other parts into shrapnel. The result: 1 perfect looking car with an utterly dead engine Don, the owner, discussed options and their costs with me from replacing with a new, rebuilt or used engine and other parts to junking the vehicle. Compared with the cost of replacing it with a comparable car, the "new everything" offer came in just under market value. So that's the route we took Don kept me abreast of repair progress. He also updated me in any complications or issues in progress. The car is back. With the 3-year unlimited mile warranty, I expect quite a few good years' service moving forward. read more

A job change means that most of the places I used to patronize are no longer convenient. So my car came due for a few things and I decided to try out this Meineke, primarily because it is so close to our home & I had a nice coupon from the mail. I'm glad I stopped in. Will and his father run a clean, friendly shop. I did have to wait a week and a half for an appointment since I needed a Saturday, but not a big deal. They took my car right on time, finished it on time, and had me back on the road. It's nice to have someplace close to home for oil changes and the other maintenance items that we don't do ourselves at home. read more

Had an inspection done and it failed due to control arms needing to be replaced. Then when I came to pick up the car my steering wheel was extremely misaligned. I mentioned this to the front desk guy who made a note and said we could come back for it to be fixed With no charge. We dropped the car off and we get a call saying they need to additionally charge for alignment. FOR A JOB THEY MESSED UP! Christmas Eve I had my car towed here, hoping to have it fixed ASAP. After dropping it off past closing time, and the next day being Christmas, I was not feeling confident in having my car by the weekend. I was pleasantly surprised when I received a call the morning after Christmas, from the girl at the front desk, letting me know that the damages were being assessed. She was extremely helpful, patient, and efficient, answering all of my questions (this was my first visit) and keeping me up to date throughout the day on the status of my vehicle repairs. The brakes were fixed by the end of the day and I am thankful to the mechanic for taking the time to explain to me what parts and labor was required! So...meineke of emmaus.....what a place. My experience was putrid. Y friend and I were stuck with a flat on the side of 78 and when the tow truck driver arrived, the only open shop was , unfortunately, meineke of emmaus was the ticket. Said one price, then tacked on an additional 100$, for some reason. Had the brakes renewed, due to the incident, they were shot on where the flat tire had been. The very same brakes they replaced snapped on our journey back home . So all in. All, the grand total reached a whopping 506 American dollars. So my overall experience was quite unpleasant, one might say, horrifying. Bill and his son were very nice but their business requires some repair. read more

HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE - STAY AWAY!!! I took my 2008 Honda in for brake and rotor replacement. I was given an estimate for $1650!!! This was after a discount and a laundry list of items that I know for a fact did not need replacement such as window wipers which were just replaced recently. When we took the car home, my husband replaced all 4 brakes with rotors for a little over $400 in parts and the back brakes didn't even need replacement. This so called mechanic left off one of my lug-nuts and tightened the front lug-nuts to the point where we can't get them off with out breaking. I will NEVER go back here, never recommend them and will tell all of my friends what a rip off artist this creep is. I have never been quoted this outrageous amount for brake repair on this car in 9 years, even the dealer doesn't come close to this. I'd give negative stars if I could. read more

Complete scam. I went in for an inspection, then they find a dozen things that " need to be fixed" and try to charge hundreds of dollars for work that can be done for half the price. Even when you call, one person gives you a price, then someone else gives you something completely different. It's all just shady. As with most people, I hardly find the time to have my car serviced. Despite my ineptitude at following proper automobile maintenance, I finally managed to find a block of time to take care of various and sundry vehicle issues. Carrying around the standard trepidation of going to a mechanic, I girded my loins and shuffled off to Meineke of Emmaus. Reviews are hardly a deal breaker for me when choosing a vendor with whom to do business. So take this one with the proverbial grain of salt. Experiences are fluid and one's fine experience is another's unhappy moment. That is probably a caveat. It is, as they say, what it is. Meineke of Emmaus is a well run shop, clean with a young owner bouncing off the walls with energy and friendliness. He didn't try to upsell me nor did he talk to me as if I was a car n00b. He stated that it would take 45 minutes for the mechanic to take care of the issues and he was, somewhat surprisingly, true to his word. The mechanic handed me my car keys, 43 minutes after I walked in. Prices are fair. They also mentioned some other franchise-specific deals that seemed quite reasonable. The location is convenient (for me at least); found on Chestnut Street across the street from Auto Zone (and right next to The Burgery - some interesting hamburgers there, believe you, me). An oil change and tire rotation hardly an expert make; however, I feel that I have enough confidence in them to bring my car back for standard maintenance, body work and all the other necessities of car ownership. 5 stars for when they do some real heavy lifting. read more

Will And the owners are great people but the mechanics that they hire are terrible. Mind you the mechanics will be the ones fixing your car. So here is what happened, I came here 2 months ago to do a routine checkup and service, part of which included changing my windshield wipers. When the Mechanic serviced my car and I got it back, The wipers were making some sound and I told him Please check my wipers again. He told me they're fine and there's nothing wrong. Even though there was a very loud squeaking noise coming out of this. Meineke installed new wipers and I took his word for it. Literally four weeks later there was a storm And my wipers began to fall off during the storm while I was driving, Clearly the mechanic at Meineke did not do his job right. More than anything this was actually very dangerous and scary for me while I was driving. This summarizes my experience at Meineke. So the next time you think about taking your car here remember their Mechanics are terrible. It was actually very scary for me And when I called Will, He wasn't too happy about replacing them But I had moved out of the area So there was no point. I bought a Groupon and had an appointment for a state inspection at 8:00 am today. I arrived at 7:50 and the building was closed and I didn't see anyone around. I understand they don't open until 8, but when you're appointment is scheduled for 8, I expect the business to be open at least a few minutes prior. I waited in my car and tried calling, but no one answered. Finally, at 8:15, someone came to the door and opened the shop. The other problem is that there is dog hair all over the waiting area. I had to sit on the edge of the chair because they were covered in dog hair. Not a very professional establishment. I would not recommend going here. UPDATE: In regards to professionalism, please see their "professional" response to my review. I did leave out in my original post that there was another customer there this morning that also had an extremely poor experience in regards to customer service. I stand by my post and highly doubt that this was the "first" time this business opened late. I didn't even receive an apology. Unacceptable. read more
