Beautiful atmosphere and the food was delicious! Our server was so sweet, she read the special and that sealed the deal for me! (It was Pollock, shrimp, a crab cake and a side). The french onion soup is wonderful. Boyfriend chose a turkey wrap with a side salad. The salad was great, full of lettuce and gorgeous toppings and very tasty ranch dressing. We had done the big party so this was to be just a nice early dinner for a party of four. A 95yr old and 93 yr old, however, shouldn't have had to wait for 40 minutes between ordering and the delivery of their entrees. This after waiting for over 8 minutes for our server to take our order. To add insult to injury the server and host pointedly avoided coming by the table until just before the food came out. Even then, no explanation, no apology, no consideration. The ambiance was pleasant and clean. The food, when it arrived, was excellent. They did send the couple home with complimentary slices of pie for their anniversary, not for their long wait. We had the pollock, walleye, breaded shrimp and Lasagna. Only thing we can guess it that they decided to make the lasagna from scratch. Before the reader mentions staff shortages, kitchen snafus, busy nights...we get it, we're very understanding people. But this was 5:30 on a weeknight, the restaurant was 15% occupied when we walked in. We saw tables seated after us eating their meals long before ours arrived. Comfort food at affordable prices. Carrie in the bar is the best in town; she serves, she mixes drinks, she makes you feel welcome! Jackie Blues has the Best, at least 24 hour brined chicken strips. Their blooming onion is freshly made in house. Consistently the best , comfort food in Bryan. Steaks are good as well but it's not a steakhouse. Along with father John's this a must stop for me when I am in Bryan on business. They have an extensive menu. A restaurant and bar area that are in separate rooms which is nice. Bartenders and staff are very friendly. The only reason I give the 3 stars is the lack of craft beer and on tap beer offered and the drinks although strong and affordable not the best I have had. Otherwise this a great spot. In the city square and near other bars and restaurants. Great place to blend in with the locals. read more

Slow service. We were there for an hour and 45 minutes and only got our entrees in the last 20 minutes. The lettuce wraps you have to wrap yourself which begs the question of why it took 25 minutes to plate some heated meat and lettuce. The lettuce was dripping wet btw. The Denver Chicken was around the same quality as a TV dinner and the potatoes that came with them were cold and/or hard. The breading of my Atlantic Pollock was soggy, and the fries had no salt on them and were just barely lukewarm. I got through 1 piece and a few fries and just pushed the plate away. The best part of the meal was the bread we were served at the beginning. I understand there is a staffing shortage right now but you can't sacrifice service and food quality but still charge like you're providing an A+ experience. Limit people in, train your kitchen staff some more, or lower prices. Grand total we paid almost $50 before tip for a sad TV dinner and a meal I couldn't finish. The waitress was so busy she didn't even notice I left a whole plate of food, so she didn't ask what was wrong with it. This is a hard pass for me. Again, if you have staff shortages you have to do something else to make up the difference. I'm not paying good money for slow service and bad food, sorry. read more

This place has not yet disappointed me. The place has always been absolutely clean. We went in a little past lunchtime and I had the Thai chicken wrap it was really really good and Mom of course had a burger which if you read my post from before mom always has burgers. And sister Sandy had a salad everything was very tasty I don't believe anybody had any complaints. I did use the bathroom while I was there and it was probably cleaner than the bathroom at home. I've never seen such a clean place. I am impressed that they do have a wide variety on their menu from sandwiches to meatloaf two steaks and seafood so I cannot wait to actually go back and try something else hopefully it will be just as good as the Thai chicken wrap. My first visit here was roughly ten years ago. It was a great experience. 5 star. My recent visit on August 5th, 2023, was nothing more than terrible. The only good thing was the server, who was amazing and the beer. First, they brought out what was explained as one of the days specials . It was explained as garlic parmesian shrimp. When I received it, all it was was battered and deep-fried. It was more like an appetizer or something you get at a dive bar. Then my steak arrived. Presentation lame at best. And overcooked. I took a bite, and it registered in my brain immediately that the meat had a rancid taste. It was as if it was going bad, and they decided to cook it and send it out anyway. I sent it back and ordered a different cut of steak. They brought it out and had me cut and taste it in front of them. I felt bad for the server. She was amazing! I'm kinda crushing right now. The second steak was a very small cut, but it tasted good. The only reason they get 1 star is because of the server. Did I mention she was amazing? read more

We have enjoyed coming here for a long time. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Always a good atmosphere and consistently good food.

One of my favorite spots. The service is usually pretty decent. Some days it's a little on the rough side. There's a bar attached to the restaurant which is great for a night out with friends. Today I asked for a crispy chicken wrap which isn't somethin they have on the menu and they made it without question. I love the food and atmosphere. read more

Starting a new job can be stressful enough, but will his restaurant in Bryan is really good. I went for lunch two days in a row and had salads both days. They were very good and filling. One of my colleagues had the French onion soup and it also looked very tasty. He host is very welcoming and very polite. Wait staff is also on cue. Both salads I had were so good. I'm giving this place 2 stars purely because the waitress gave good service. I got the shrimp Alfredo and the sauce didn't taste homemade and the shrimp tasted frozen. It did come with a salad and piece of bread which was nice but it was definitely not worth $17.50. We had a side of red potatoes that was definitely microwaved and not cooked. My husband got a burger. Nowhere on the menu did it say it had onions so he asked for some. When it arrived, it had a big stack of shoestring onions AND the onions he asked for. And for the final straw- from the time we ordered to when we got our food it had been less than 10 minutes which leads me to believe that nothing is fresh. I even put in the order for the potatoes a few minutes after the other items so it is very concerning that everything came out so quickly. read more

Jackie Blu's is located in the downtown with plenty of parking. Atmosphere is inviting and food is delicious. My favorites are the crab cake salad and the lobster bisque. The wait staff are friendly and accommodating. Every dining experience we have had has been wonderful. read more

First timer. Made reservations. All was good. We ordered an appetizer while waiting for the rest of our party. The appetizer arrived about the same time as our party. We finished the appetizer (it was good) and then waited for 10-15 minutes before the waitress came back to take our order. Took 45 minutes to get our food (mine was at best warm,everyone else's was the same). We then waited 20 minutes after we were finished eating to get our bill. Everyone was pleasant, just not very timely. The food was at best good, not outstanding. I don't mind at all paying a higher price for outstanding food, but the pricing did not reflect the quality tonight. Everyone can have an off night, so I would perhaps try it again, but it won't be right away. read more

It was bad. First we tell our drink orders. Not bad yet. Tell her we will order our food as soon as she brings us our appetizers. The appetizers come and go and we still have not ordered. 15-20 minutes later we order. Not too bad. We then wait 2 hours for our food. When we ask our waitress about the food after a hour, got told getting mad at her was not going to make the food come faster. Then continued on talking, trying to make us feel bad. We tell her we we not mad, she then gets into an argument we some of my family members. Wouldn't have mattered as much but we had 5 kids under the age of 10 waiting for their food. The waitress never took the appetizer plates my grandfather had too. He also had to go get our to go boxes. The food was cold when we got it.
