Took a long time to finally stop out here. Jack's is a small and quaint restaurant on Hwy 17 in Mt. P. It's a standalone location with plenty of parking. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly. I ordered a couple of specialty hot dogs and they were good but nothing was too memorable. I wanted to try the craft sodas but they were out. I may visit again to try something else but it's no Perfectly Franks. I wish they'd expand on the menu but I can see why they haven't. read more

Super fun place! If you're craving a hot dog and ice cream after the beach, then you should stop here! My husband and I were at IOP for the day and wanted a quick snack after so we stopped here. The decor is super fun, they have some outdoor seating and fun lights outside. Inside is funky as well. I got a build your own hot dog and fry combo...hot dog is delicious , also for cheese sauce and ketchup on top. The fries could be bettee, mine were slightly too crunchy a bit over cooked. PLEASE stop here if you're traveling and want to experience some fantastic hotdogs and fast, friendly service! We were recommended Jack's Cosmic Dogs by a friend and it did not disappoint. Upon walking in, we were warmly greeted by several employees and promptly helped. The young man at the counter was very sweet and friendly. While we waited for our food (which wasn't very long at all), we looked around at the thematic decor and were appreciating the retro vibes - from the art to the gum-ball machines to the tables & chairs, the restaurant is well put together and is certainly fun to look at. We ordered the Blue Galactic, the Atomic, the Big Bang Fries, and draft root beer. The hot dogs were delicious and were on sturdy buns that were perfect for the mountain of toppings! The blue cheese coleslaw is something new & different and was very enjoyable. The Atomic was nicely balanced between the mild chili and the spicy mustard. The fries were well-done shoestring fries that held up well to the generous portions of chili, cheese, bacon, and jalapeños. We added Texas Pete hot sauce to the fries from the condiment bar. The root beer tasted great and it was fun that it was draft! Overall, a great spot to visit if you're in the area. We drove about 15 minutes and it was well worth it. Was really excited to come here because it seemed like a cool spot. But it ended up being a very underwhelming experience. They were out of soft serve chocolate ice cream so I couldn't get the swirl that I was looking forward to. We tried to order Oreo ice cream here because we saw that they had something called "orbital Oreo" but what they had was just Oreo cookie crumble, not like with the cream or anything. The decor was fun and cool, felt like we went back in time like the 90's. But the staff just seemed like they did not want to be there, I would've expected the vibe to be more vibrant but the energy was just very low. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing and pulled into the parking lot. As we were parking, an employee walked out, made direct eye contact with us, turned the sign to "Closed," went back inside, shut the door, and locked it before we could even get out of the car. This wasn't a misunderstanding. He clearly saw us. We had just taken our dog, Carver, to the beach after telling our kids that he has cancer. We planned to grab hot dogs for our family and one for him. The way this was handled was unnecessarily dismissive and upsetting for our entire family. I understand closing policies. I do not understand intentionally shutting down in front of customers who arrived before closing instead of communicating directly. Their closing hours are already in the middle of dinner time (6:00p), but this is the second time we've tried to stop in and they closed before their published hours. This time just felt exceptionally distasteful. We won't be returning, and I won't recommend this business to others. read more

We waited in the car with our 2 year old. Got out at 11 in the freezing cold and they wouldn't open the door. Saw 2 people walking around, we knocked, no acknowledgment. Went in at 7:30pm 4/25/25. After placing my order I was told by the young female and young male working that they didn't have any fries bc they were going to be doing something to the fryers later. I got my HD and drink and I told the young man I would need to order another HD (for my elderly mom) before I left and before closing. Really wanted to love this place, and it was underwhelming. Entering the place, the door looked like it could use a wipe down and update. The decor was kind of kitschy and cool, and I enjoyed that part of the experience. I walked up to the counter and a young man and young lady who had been sitting got up and he went and stood in front of the counter, not saying anything. I finally realized her worked there and wasn't getting up to get in line. So he was on my side of the counter and had this little iPad that he took the order on which was kind of strange as there was another girl on the other side of the counter but anyway they were both pleasant enough. I ordered the blue Galactic dog which they told me the blue cheese coleslaw was their specialty. It does not belong in a hotdog. It had way too much dressing and was soggy. Blue cheese was all you could taste in it. The dog also had chili, which was ok, cheese which tasted like the cheese from the 7-11 hot dog bar, and a mustard the girl described as a sweet potato mustard. I think I got a hint of a taste of it, but not sure with the chili and blue cheese drowning it out. The hot dog had a nice bite with the casing. The bun was just ok, perhaps toasting it would help. The fries were forgettable-tiny portion for the price, of which some were burnt, all were soggy, and it looked like I got the very bottom of the fry bag-tiny, broken up pieces of fry. The strawberry shake was easily the best part of the meal. Fries appear to be the only side choice, which was disappointing. The condiment station had a lot of bottles that were mostly empty, and there wasn't much variety there. There were pumps behind the bottles but they didn't seem to be working. I did go into the bathroom to wash my hands, and there was hair in the sink. To be fair, there was a lady walking around cleaning while I was there. I'll admit I'm a hot dog snob and hard to please. My idea of a great dog is a hot (temp) hot dog on a soft warm bun with yellow mustard and pickle spear. Not half a vinegar soaked pickle, a real DILL pickle. The hot dog skin should have a snap to it when you bite into it. Jacks dogs do not. The dogs are soft and mushy, the buns are dry. I had the Cosmic Dog and the chili was from a can 100%, not good. The onions had zero flavor. The regular order of fries, while good, were an extremely small portion. But fries were best part of meal. I know they are under new ownership and things have changed since Jack sold it. Back in the day this place rocked. Not so much now. read more

When you walk in, it seems small but there is a wall blocking you from seeing an additional seating area. You begin by ordering at the counter, get your cups and wait for your food. You pay when the food is picked up. The shop is crowded with decorations and other various things and seems a bit dirty. It also has wasn't very bright in there. The food was so boring. I was expecting some spectacular hot dog, but it was a small, not very hot (barely warm) hot dog. The bun was also very cheap tasting and feeling in the way it fell apart. The chili didn't really have any flavor, the cheese sauce was only warm, the corndog was a bit greasy and the fries were terrible. They were soaked in grease and basically chips because they were way overcooked and crunchy/hard. Barely any soft ones in the bunch. The kids meal was okay- only $5. Hot dog, juice(Capri Sun), mini moon pie and fruit. They gave her Jello instead of fruit, though. I wish they would have told me that before I ordered though. For what we paid, it wasn't worth it. This is a place you go for the decor, not the food. First, their menu says "Dill Relish", and it is absolutely NOT dill relish. The hotdog was a mid tier hotdog. You could get a comparable hotdog at Costco for a lot cheaper, or even make your own hotdog in your microwave. The decor is neat, though. Overall, very disappointing. read more

Arrived at 7:20, on a Tuesday close at 8PM was told we could not eat inside because they were cleaning up and getting ready to close,had to eat outside. Outside furniture is rusty and dirty.
