[[HIGHLIGHT]]This would be a good place to take kids. The outside is all fenced in with games.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside has arcade games in one room and lots of seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It all very casual.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The dogs were ready very quickly after ordering. They were pretty good. The slaw was good and they gave a generous portion of it on each dog. The French fries were good.

The blue cheese coleslaw was one of my favorite things about both of these hotdogs and it was definitely a delicious twist on a normal hotdog. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There was quite a bit of outside and inside eating and even a small arcade area that you could play in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It seemed really family friendly and there were quite a few families there when we went.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I left Folly beach Sunday late afternoon and needed something to eat. I was craving hotdogs! So I decided to try Jack's Cosmic Dogs. What a fun place. The interior was brightly colored with spaceman hanging from the ceiling and perched by the soda machine. They had an arcade room with a few games and an outdoor seating area. They had a shelf with merchandise like T-shirts with the Jack's Cosmic Dogs Logo. The menu had various specialty hotdogs, French fries and coleslaw or you could make your own hot dog. This establishment also served beer on tap. I ordered the make your own dog. O e had saurkraut, onion and mustard. The others were chili, onions, and mustard. The hotdogs are bigger than grocery store hotdogs. They were crisp on the outside and juicy inside. The bun was steamed and was the same size as the hotdogs. Service was fast and friendly. This is a fun place for families or anyone wanting to eat hotdogs in a playful setting. The make your own hotdogs was $4.95 each. I will be back to try some of the specialty hot dogs. See attached picture for menu.

I was super disappointed with this restaurant. Started with when we placed our order, I got the Galactic Dog, one with Sauerkraut (can't remember the name), and the Jacks "House-Made Rootbeer". I was excited for the root beer, but quickly saw the tap for it was Abita, which is fine, but when the keg went empty after only pouring half of the drink, I became worried. The cashier just handed me a half-empty $4 rootbeer, and wasn't knowledgeable on how to change the keg, and didn't change it. Now on to the food, the dogs are nothing special, you could easily make these at home. Piled high with toppings you almost forget you're eating a hotdog. I wish them luck, but don't think I'll be returning.

Really very good dogs with tons of options for the foodies. Brought the family out and they had a blowup slide for the kids in the new playground out front. Huge free parking lot in the back for groups, and SUV. We were on the way to the beach at Folly and this is a great spot coming or going. Good pricing and the food was freshly made and excellent even for the picky kids. Check out the old school fizzy drinks for a bit of nostalgia and tell the little ones not to miss the astronaut in the ceiling!

Kid Meal Cone Coin

Kids loved the under ten meal, it came with a coin for a soft serve. Please add more sugar to the sweet tea.

Our dinner--smash burger atomic dogs and of course the fresh cut fries--can't wait to eat there again!!!

Both were generous with fillings, great flavor, and carefully cooked (so easy to burn a crepe....) I also got a lunch special, which was a reuben with cabbage and potatoes as sides. I do not remember the price, but this was a real meal. The bread held up well, the sides were well seasoned, and I enjoyed every bite. Coffee (self serve) was good quality and they made sure the pot was never empty. Service was from the counter and was genuinely friendly. They were all part of the casual atmosphere. The place is relaxed and has a real neighborhood vibe. We ate many great meals during our stay in Charleston, many fancy and some low key. Queen Street stands out as the most pleasant of surprises.

There were 4 open spots at the bar, so when we *finally* found the host, we asked if they were first come, first served. He told us there were two people coming and that he'd let us know. After waiting probably 10 min, he finally agreed to seat us at the bar (the 2 other people never showed up). So, there we sat...and sat. Bartender finally comes by and plops a bottle of water in front of us. Doesn't say hi / bye / or eff you (although she definitely gave off the latter vibe with her body language). After sitting there another 10 min and not being acknowledged whatsoever, I got fed up. Stood up, told my girlfriend I had had enough...and I flat out refused to give my money to an establishment that treats their customers in this manner. Honestly, I grew up in the Lowcountry and I can tell you that *most* restaurants/bars/shops/etc. in Charleston feature employees who are generally gracious/friendly/hospitable/helpful. Then, on occasion, you run into places like this. How they stay in business has to be a function of location alone, because their service is absolutely horrible! Will advise anyone who will listen to avoid this place at all costs!

Here's a polished version with a little more flow and atmosphere added:…read more Sorelle Mercato was such a fun stop while we were in Charleston! The space has a beautiful Italian market café feel and offers coffee, pastries, pizza, soups, salads, and more. (sorellecharleston.com) The coffee was excellent. We tried two of their specialty drinks -- one was a latte with lemon cold foam and candied lemon pieces on top, which was absolutely fabulous and so unique. The other was a strawberry and cream coffee that was also delicious. For food, we had the specialty pizza of the day called "The Dip," which was topped with an artichoke dip spread and was really creative and tasty. We also ordered two chopped salads. At first I was a little disappointed to learn the salads were pre-made, but honestly they were fresh and much better than expected. My daughter also had the Italian wedding soup and thought it was fabulous. One thing to know: this place gets BUSY. We stopped by in the morning and the line was outrageous. Personally, I don't think it's worth waiting in a super long line. However, we came back later in the afternoon and had only a short wait, which made for a much more enjoyable experience. Overall, definitely worth a visit -- especially if you can avoid peak hours!

I tried the seasonal Carrot Cake Latte, and it was exceptional--the cold foam on top with pecans and cinnamon made it feel like a real treat. While I didn't grab any pastries this time, the bakery selection looked absolutely delectable. Space is a bit limited inside, but they do have a few outdoor seats. I'll definitely be returning to try more of the menu next time I'm in town!
