So sadly I have to say, these guys are about overcharging and upselling. I am grateful to the same day service, but after what occurred, I will not recommend nor use again. We had a clogged drain so the drip pan was overflowing. Before he arrived I pulled a pump out and removed 3.5 gal of water myself. He brought a tube up and put it in the drain with a shop vac at the other end. It was cleared in 10 min, he even handed me my pump. Little did I know I was gonna get SOAKED financially for that! Had he told me I would have finished it myself, it was easy and they charged me OVER $247 for what I had already done half of! I had a capacitor go out on the AC unit, Jose told me they cost "hundreds of dollars" and that some of their "competitors charge over $400 for the part." This was after I specifically asked because online said it was less than $45. He proceeded to tell me that I looked at the wrong one. Well actually the Rheem replacement part is $19.19 and currently on sale! I have a Sure Comfort made by Rheem. But I believed him! Next he wanted to install Float valves and tried to upsell to the tune of $600+ when I hesitated he said "if you do it today, I'll do one for free." Wait this line is something I've heard before...I told him I needed to call my husband and walked away to look up the valve it's $16.50! And DIY says you can do it in a few minutes. No thanks! Total bill over $640! For less than 25 min here and he sat in his van for another 10. Thoroughly disappointed! They are a rip off and take advantage of people! I left a message for manager to call, because of course the tablet was in the sun and couldn't be seen just told me the total. I about croaked at the charge over the drip pan! After the City swapped my meter to a digital water main reader I was told I had a leak on my side of the meter. After paying a company to find the leak I called Jackson to fix the leak. They came out and gave an estimate and then scheduled the repair. They were on time and the whole crew did a great job. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Why did I give 4 stars instead of 5? Because I asked them to leave the sewer cleanout exposed when everything was dug out and they said they would and that it might need an extension to bring it to ground level. But I get it, it wasn't in the original quote. At least now I know where it is. Are they expensive? Yes, but so is Blake Bros and Hiller and eveybody else. read more

I had a water pipe leak. It was in the wall under a sink. I had the drywall already pulled out. A three inch piece of PVC pipe had a crack in it. When I called, I was told there would be a $50 charge to asses the leak. Two people came and checked it out. The guy told me it would be $450 to repair. He claimed I was getting a $50 discount. I had to get the leak stopped immediately so I agreed. They had to get a part which took about 45 minutes. Once they got started work, it only took about 15 minutes. He replaced the PVC pipe with pex pipe. I felt like I was way overcharged, even though I agreed to have the work done. I will NEVER use them again. read more

Would not recommend. Their business model is to charge you as much as possible. I paid $900 to fix a leaky faucet even after I had all new hardware in hand. Instead of actually finding the leak, they insisted on replacing every component related to the shower supply line. Absolutely horrible. I had them come out about two weeks ago because we were having a problem with plumbing backing up. They are overpriced but we had an emergency and didn't have a choice. They came out and ran a camera and said they think fiber has been bored through the line. They cleared it which was a temporary fix and never made any mention to us about a permanent fix. They also cut a whole in our pipe to run the camera and didn't repair it. They have stated the cut was there but they are the only plumber that came for this issue and the plumber that came out yesterday said it was cut by a professional more than likely to run the camera. Jackson wanted to charge us $1100 to fix the pipe that they cut!! They were also rude and didn't want to listen or explain anything. I tried to call them 4 times yesterday and have still not received a call back. There is NO EXCUSE for that level of terrible customer service. The plumber we used yesterday was extremely polite and went above and beyond to help us find a permanent fix. The owner replies a general response to all of these bad reviews saying your opinion matters but yet I don't see them doing anything to fix their errors or improve their customer service. read more

Jackson came back out multiple times to try to fix the problem, which was faulty installation of the condensate pan, line, and safety shut-off valve. But despite hours of work, it failed again- this time while we were on vacation- and water ran through the first two floors and damaged the wall and my hardwood floors in my dining room with water. The company Jackson hired to repair the damages was an absolute unprofessional joke and left my house in worse shape than it was to begin with. Now 4 rooms in my house have water damage. Bottom line- Jackson has sold to Ace Hardware, so who knows how the company will transform. David from AC worked really hard to make things right, but it was too late. I think our business with Jackson is finished from now on, and we will be using a different company. read more

Jackson stated my electric Rheem H/W heater was covered by warranty and would only be a charge for labor. They installed heater 6 years ago. Would not be an extension to manufacturer warranty due to replacement. Arrived and quoted me over $1,300 for supposedly labor. Said that was typical for labor. Then quoted me over 2,300 for a Bradford White heater. I told them that was excessive and would have to check around. First phone call was much less than the $1,300 fully installed plus Rheem manufacturer's 6 year warranty. read more

I had a scheduled POM (Piece of Mind) inspection for my HVAC and this young cat named Jaden came by to take care of business. I was kind of leery at first because all six of my dogs started loving on him and acted as if they knew him their whole lives. I didn't know an HVAC guy was moonlighting as the dog whisperer on the side, but he didn't take any with him so that was good. When he came in the house he put these special "booties" on his shoes to deter dirt, sand, and grime from getting on my hardwood floors and it worked. He said these keep him from having to bring a broom and mop with his other tools. Speaking about his other tools, I followed him around (mainly to make sure he didn't accidentally grab one of my dogs) and watched him work that multimeter on my HVAC Systems. You could tell he was the Charlie Daniels of multimeters by the way he worked it. He even had a pouch on the side and could pull that thing out in .0004 seconds flat. He would have taken care of business back in the western days if anyone ever asked him for a duel. No doubt, no doubt in my mind He knew his stuff too, he didn't admit it, but I got the feeling he worked on some of the HVAC systems for the NASA Space Shuttle or SpaceX. He..was..that..good. I almost asked him if he could do this blindfolded but didn't want to insult his intelligence...hell yeah he could and deep down I knew it! I was waiting on him to change over to one of those three wolf moon t-shirts you can get from Amazon (if you don't know check it out, it has over 5K reviews) to give him even more superpowers, but at the end of the day, he didn't need it. He completed that inspection like a ballet dancer, moving with the swiftness of a tiger, but as eloquent as a butterfly. I searched in Webster's dictionary for the word to describe this astonishing feat of patience, skill, and expertise, but there was no word...never have been and probably never will be. I was so excited by this experience when he left I ran to the road and waved at him like Forest Gump as he sailed into the sunset in his Jackson Plumbing, Heating, Cooling, Septic, Electrical, etc minivan. The next time I see him will probably be in the oval office or as the Chairman of the JCS (Joint Chiefs of Staff). Good sir, it was a pleasure to have been in the presence of such greatness. They cam to my house and finally after 10 visits and 700 dollars left me without a working unit and couldn't find what was wrong with it. Horrible and very dishonest. I asked if they had equipment to find a leak in my front yard that was leaking 20 gallons of water an hour. They said they had an electronic leak detection device. The Plumber arrived without the device, walked around my yard and told me he could not find the leak and that he would have to dig up my entire yard to find it and my best option was to run a new main line from the street up to the main valve of the house. His quote to do that was $3,600. After he left, I glanced over next to my porch steps and saw a huge water puddle on the ground in front of where the main enters my home which was exactly where he would have been working to connect the new line into the house. I got a shovel and dug up no more than 2 inches of wet mud and found the huge leak. It cost me $20 to have a handy man repair it for me and it was so simple he didn't want to charge me anything. He said the location of the leak should have been the first place a competent plumber should look. I attached a separate quote from them to install a tankless water heater to replace the one they broke. $4,362. When I asked to see a breakdown of labor and materials so I could see what I was paying for, the plumber told me he didn't have the time to do it and he would have to stay up all night to do it - REALLY? He quotes me a $4,300 job without knowing how much the materials cost and how many labor hours will be spent. It doesn't get any more shady than that. I don't understand how they stay in business. Horrible experience with this company. My wife trusted a Facebook post recommendation from a "customer" but turns out it was really an employee pretending to be a customer. The prices were extremely high, we had to call multiple times and three different plumbers came out and still wasn't able to resolve the issue. On top of that the plumbers had the worst attitudes and work ethic. The little helper boy was taking pictures inside our home and recording videos, they played around most of the time and their language was horrible. Luckily we called another company and they were able to get to us the same day with no service fee and FIXED the issue with no problems. Turns out it had nothing to do with what Jackson was finding to be the issue. I attempted to call the office to contact a manger regarding this issue and was directed to the marketing manager who was absolutely no help, probably the most incompetent "manager" or person I have ever had to deal with. Who lets a "manager" who knows nothing about plumbing try to resolve an issue about plumbing? I was think called by the "operations manager" who again knew nothing about plumbing and tried to over talk me the whole time. I never once was able to speak to the manager over plumbing or the owner. Unfortunately, I found where they sold out to Ace Hardware, had we known that to begin with we would have never called them in the first place. Ace hardware is good enough reason to not do business with Jackson. I did end up filing a complaint with Ace Hardware, but I seriously doubt they will do anything, they didn't seem to surprised with my complaint so I can only assume they often get complaints regarding Jackson. I do not recommend this company to anyone. If they were the only company left open and I needed a plumber I'm confident my 11 year old could watch Youtube and fix the issue before Jackson would even be close to "diagnosing" the issue. read more

The tech came and checked the unit as it was not cooling. He had to call his supervisor and he determined that it need a new condenser fan motor over the phone. I sat here on Saturday in the heat waiting on the supervisor to bring the motor. They installed it and the super left. The tech reassembled the unit came and told me the unit was now running fine. He checked the temperature of the air coming from the vents with his hands and said "It's blowing cool air.It should cool down soon." Unit ran all night with NO cooldown. The tech returned Checked some things with his tester ,"All was fine". He said it needs the evaporation coil cleaned. This is late evening 3 days later and they called to reschedule my appointment! I would NEVER use Jackson Plumbing and Air again and will not recommend them to anyone! I am sick from the heat and should not have been dismissed because they were dealing with a new install! If this is how they treat their customers ,they need to get out of the business. I paid for a membership and it got me NOTHING. I am 71 and suffer from Lupus the heat is especially rough on me! Jackson installed the plumbing for a bonus room prior to me installing a new shower and sink. They did a great job at a reasonable price, and I have nothing but positive things to say about their work. They were punctual, always confirming the appointment by email and phone with a text and photo of the technician, plus they call you the day of to confirm arrival time. They hire military Veteran plumbers who are always willing to give advice on plumbing, heating, AC, and renovation work. They service my AC and heating annually and I totally trust them to be up front and honest about the price and the work involved. My customer experience with Jackson Plumbing was much better than previous experiences working with some bigger companies. They are more personal in their service and the results are what I expected and more. read more

We didn't have hot water and Jackson came out to assess the issue. It cost us $159 and all that was done - flipping the breaker switch. We felt this service was very over priced and called them before leaving any negative feedback to see if they would charge us a more suitable price. Tried to get them to help me when my landlord won't call me back about a busted pipe at the meter. im having a major surgery in 2 weeks and I'm on home health confined to a bed. the lady that answered the phone said she wanted to stop me mid explanation. I simple asked if they could bill directly to the landlord because it's his responsibility. All he cares about is rent. But if she would have allowed me to finish before telling me the land lord world have to call, I was going to opt to pay them and get the reimbursed through certified mail with the bill. they just lost a customer because if I call you for service I expect to be able to finish asking for service. This company should get NO stars but since I have to select one he got one but should get ZERO. DO NOT USE THEM. My builder uses them as one of their subcontractors so I thought it was best to have this plumber install a water softener for me. I was charged $1800 for a system that I was told is the right size for a 4 person household. It hasn't worked right in the 2.5 years I've lived here. Jim Jackson could never service the system right since he knew nothing about what he sold me. He also put the tank to drain in the wetlands behind my house, which is a daily code violation. I've had 3 different plumbers come to my house and they all said the tank I have is for am apartment with 2 people and should have cost me $400-$500. This tank is under warranty and now I can't get this plumber to call me back and I've call 11 times. It's my fault for not looking into this company as I assumed since he did the plumbing in my house he was best equipped to sell and install the water softener. He is TERRIBLE. They gave me an estimate to run 20-25 feet of 1 inch natural gas line from a new meter in Falkville. I paid $59 for them to come look. They wanted $1,550 to do it. $350 of that was just to get a town permit. Tillman plumbing is gonna do it for $425. I see other reviews online like this. They're rather pricey. read more
