I am glad they are closed down for now. I had a really horrible experience there one day at the antique mall. There was a broken doll on the floor, and one of the staff members kept following me and asked if I was the one who broke it. I told them no, but then two staff members continued following me around, demanding that I pay for it and threatening to call the police. Their behavior was very intimidating, and I ended up crying in front of them while asking them to stop treating me that way. I truly felt profiled and discriminated against during the entire situation. Afterward, I posted a Google review and tried many times to contact the manager, but my calls never resolved anything. Eventually, their lawyer contacted me and asked me to remove the review, saying they would have the staff go through training. However, that did not resolve the harm that was done, because the experience left me traumatized. read more

We stopped by the other day to take a look around. I love browsing antique shops. This place has two floors filled with beautiful antiques and vintage items. It is a little pricy depending what you're interested in. When we went, lots of the booths featured Christmas decorations. I fell in love with a beautiful retro Santa. He will bring magic and merriment to our home each holiday season starting next year (my husband wouldn't let me have my present early, or Santa would be proudly on display this year too lol). Everything I looked at was in good condition, especially considering how old some of the items were. I was hoping to see more vintage clothes and housewares, so I'll have to go back after the holidays to see what they put out. Staff was friendly and helpful. I'll be back soon I'm sure. read more

Recommend this Antique store for anyone in the area. So many nostalgic items. I went in looking for a game set. I found it at the last minute. I really want a nice Backgammon set for the house. I liked this set but the age was not only apparent but there was several stains on the outside box. I couldn't justify paying $60 for it. I did think long and hard about it. Hopefully I will discover a cleaner one at a garage sale. Antique store had several levels. I enjoyed that different vendors had items on display. Price point really varied. I saw items reasonably priced and then others I thought you could find at Goodwill for way cheaper. Time spent here could take several hours as so much to look at. In addition to clothing, glassware, records, jewelry, purses...quite a bit of furniture and decor. I enjoyed my experience browsing. If I had a bigger place then I would of purchased some nostalgic items. I was very close to buy some coup glasses for my bar. Will be back. La Grange is such a cute place to hang. read more

Jackson Square Mall is a decently sized antiques center in the downtown area of LaGrange. There's a small parking lot and plenty of nearby street parking. I'd say it's smaller inside than I expected but there are 2 floors (main and lower) and a good number of dealers. Obviously stock rotates but I think you'll be really happy if you like china, decorative items and especially vintage fashion and jewelry. If you're after vintage toys, tools or "man stuff" maybe not so much. I personally found LOTS to love - tons of seasonal Christmas decor at reasonable prices as well as a fabulous French advertising poster. My poster is beautifully framed (likely $500+ on framing alone) so for $150 I could not say no. It looks perfect in our house. The ladies working could not have been nicer - even recommending other nearby stops that night interest us. read more

This is my favorite place to vintage shop... when I don't want to dig. Every booth or corner is beautifully curated. All pieces are clearly marked with a price. All locked cases have a big number so if you need it unlocked, it's not a nightmare. Every vendor here has their own vibe. There's not much clothing here. But if you're on the hunt for something, I imagine you'll find it here. Don't forget the basement! It's also full of awesome antique vendors! They offer free coffee and easy to find bathrooms. Prices are more on the expensive side. You can ask for a better price, but they really don't give anything over 10% and that's ONLY for pieces over $50... unless you go during one of their sale weekends! They don't offer these all the time, so when they do JUMP AT THE CHANCE! There's always plenty of parking as this giant building is right off the beaten path in downtown La Grange. read more

10/10 - I love going to Jackson square over the weekend and seeing what they have to offer. A lot of variety based on the business model of micro businesses, which brings a unique selection. The team there is always so nice, and have enjoyed being able to talk to them a few times about their local favorite spots. Heaven! You have to meet Mare! (Pronunced Ma-yor). Absolutely beautiful soul who will answer ir get answers for you. She is amazing, but let's go to the merchandise that is beyond plentiful. I mean, where can you find 1920's realness in art deco, or maybe you areninto in the 40s, 50s, or 60's. Fast forward to what I like: EVERYTHING! I am seriously in love with this place. This is my 3rd time here, and I am living the life. I mean, there you have a 1920s flapper dress that will be considered the creme of the crop! I mean, you have the black frills and probably a size 6! The days of the flappers are not talked about anymore. But let me not lose vision. This place is amazing. If you want vintage furniture, go downstairs, and you will see some pieces that will take you back! I love the fact that there is something for everyone's pocket book or wallet. You get some really great vintage pieces, and you are not going to go broke doing it. It's amazing that the prices will not break the bank. Seriously, beautiful selections! I'm new to antiquing but am a huge fan of Jackson Square. It inspired me to come back here as well as check out other antique sites! There's amazing variety and so many unique and fun seller stalls. The space is also clean and well organized. I could literally spend hours going through the store several times! Staff are very helpful and willing to take 10% off unless an item is marked as firm. I am not very strong and a staff member gladly carried the chest I bought to my car. Lots of parking spots!! read more

The negative: I agree with the reviewer below regarding the lack of frequent turnover, and you rarely see booths on sale despite this. Some of these booths look EXACTLY the same, year after year, and a few of them should be outright evicted due to a lack of vintage/antiques pieces. The positive: There are a few booths here that are quality and keep me coming back, thus the 4 star rating. Pre-COVID they offered free coffee, access to bathrooms, and the ability to try clothes on (though none of these appear to be offered anymore, understandably). I also believe we should do what we can to support our local antique malls as many quality ones are closing permanently due to COVID. read more

Communication and service are horrible here! I've bought items from a surprise bag that claimed to be a size small and ended up having holes and the wrong size (size M), also appearing to be something from a garbage thrift store. Tried talking to management after spending a pretty penny from Junkie Vintage vendor, and they did not clarify any of their policies or try to fix the situation. The next time I went shopping, it was a sale day and the manager wasn't around to resolve an issue with my points. Employee said she would hold my items until the manager was in. The manager wasn't in until 3 days later, in which they have a 24 hour policy for any holds. No employee told me about this, and they didn't want to give me the items that were promised to be held for me until a manager was available. I just lost 20 dollars at this place. Management seems greedy and was extremely rude over the phone. Don't shop here if you want to be ripped off and treated like trash! read more

Typewriters, phones, suitcases, boxes, books, my dream sewing machine (don't buy it...it is mine!!!), radios, clothing, vases, fans, furniture, and so much more! Twists and turns take you around this antique "mall". Prices are decent in some booths and not so decent in others. However, I can be here for hours. Love some of the booths set up...so cute and inspirational for home decor. I loved it so much I went two times in one week...and am already planning my next visit! read more

Frustrated that I drove 90 minutes to peruse this mall only to be told they have no washroom. The woman at the counter was rude about it and therefore I turned around and left. It's a huge mall that a shopper could spend hours in but it's not possible without a washroom. I'm not familiar with the area but noticed when I left that there are many establishments in the downtown area I could have popped in and used the washroom. That suggestion would have been appreciate. I will not return or suggest it to my vintage collecting friends. read more

Color me not bright but I never knew this place existed except you can see it from on the train. I took me a whle to figure out where it was from seeing it from the train windows. And yes, I spent most of my teen years kicking around downtown La Grange so it's not like I don't know the area. The mall is huge- several levels and nooks and crannies. I agree with oher yelpers that the staff is indifferent and the stuff is quite "girly". There is lot more lace and clothes and dolly stuff and tons of china here compared to most malls. There's a lot to look at - and its a bit chaotic as its a brunch of random vendors tossed together in a big antiquy shabby salad. They do have a lot of furniture - but most of it seems overpriced and some of the items seem a little too "shiny", like they are reproductions or just new instead of being antiques. I think if I purchased a big item, I would do some comparsion shopping just to be sure what I was getting is worth the money. There are some gems in the mass of items though- there is some much stuff hat is easy to just skip the shelves and come away withe idea its all $$. Walk slowly I suggest at least 30 min to see it all. Some quirky smalls such as 1950s drinking glasses with goofy things on them. For example, I purchased a glass proudly showing "Bertie the pawing and puffing buffalo" from some long gone roadside wisconsin attraction. If zero stars was an option, that is the review that I would leave. I was so excited when I found this amazing vintage, good condition, bright yellow, velvet, Broyhill sofa. The vendor sent me pictures, it looked to be in excellent condition and was sold as in good condition. I paid for it and hired a mover to bring it to my house. Once at my house, the yellow dye from the couch started rubbing off on my walls and clothing. I then checked the couch and it appeared to be recently dyed. I rubbed a dry washcloth on the couch and the dye immediately transferred onto the washcloth, leaving it yellow and dirty. Knowing I had to remove the couch from my house because not only was it turning everything it touched yellow, it was not useful as furniture. I called the vendor and the store to say that it would be returned by my mover and that I expected a refund. I understand that the store has a no refund policy. I would agree with that if I had had a change of heart or if the couch didn't fit in my house. But in actuality, it was exactly the look and style and size that I wanted. It was a faulty item though and unusable. The vendor told me that it wasn't her problem, and that if I was having an issue that I should just go and sell it to someone else. The store refused to budge on excepting the faulty item back and they locked my mover and the couch out of their store. The manager rudely told me that it was my problem and that I was making it more difficult by not just keeping it. The owners have failed to respond to me or my family lawyer. Pics below as proof that I was sold a faulty item and that you will too! Still not hearing from the store and owners after many attempts, i ha e reversed the charge on my cc. First of all I am so disappointed that I don't have that darling couch but on the principle, I am very disappointed in how the store has treated me. I can't believe that somebody would sell such a disgraceful piece of furniture and then call it the buyers problem. Shame on them. read more

I love this place and have bought so much cool stuff from here! When I can't make it into the city, I hit up this place. They have a couple booths with stuff from the 50s, 60s and 70s and that's the stuff I love rummaging through. I wish this place carried more furniture but regardless, 9/10 times, you will find at least one thing that will need to come home with you. It's a great place for finding unique gifts too! I don't know how on earth I'd managed to not come here before, living in the area my entire life! My guy and I stopped in on a Sunday, and spent the most enjoyable hour looking around this massive store. Everything here is beautiful in its own way- clothing, jewelry, Christmas decorations, glassware, barware, purses, furniture... the list goes on and on. The thing is, they know what they have so don't walk in expecting to find a steal. You definitely can find some great items for reasonable prices though! And it's all the nicest stuff, so it's not like you're weeding through expensive crap either! The areas are separated off by different sellers, which leads to fluctuations in the prices. -Be mindful of the booth numbers- we selected baseball cards that had a reminder to mention a booth number so the seller got credit. I think even if I went back the very next day, I'd have a totally different experience. There was so much to see I know I didn't notice everything I should've. We spent and easy hour there perusing around. More serious shoppers probably spend a half a day there! We ended up finding some unique pieces we will be saving for Christmas gifts. While a little out of the way for those who live in the city, it's well worth the trip for the low prices, especially in winter when the outdoor flea markets shut down. Conveniently located within walking distance from a Metra stop, this antique mall has a wide range of merchandise displayed in its sprawling space. All of the merchandise is well displayed and several vendors sell bits & bobs like ephemera, vernacular photography and buttons for 25 cents to a dollar each in large bins that you can dig through. You could definitely spend an entire afternoon in here exploring all the goodies. All the vendors put out their vintage Christmas/holiday decorations already so you can find Shiny brite ornaments, feather trees and hugging-knee elves at reasonable prices. Most of the booths are well curated and feature items from the 1960s or earlier. Styles range from Midcentury Modern to industrial chic. On my recent visit I saw: clothing, gloves and hats from the 1950s/60s, records, a wide range of costume and rhinestone jewelry, kitchenware (Pyrex, Fire-King, 1950s dish sets), polaroid & 35mm film cameras, black and white photos (Victorian Era cabinet cards and 1940s/50s snapshots), cookbooks, barware and much more. Jackson Square will definitely help get me through the colder months when garage/yard sales are a distant memory! read more

The Jackson Square Mall is absolutely for people who love antiques. This place is HUGE, and I cannot emphasize the word "huge" enough. However, the fact that the space is so large does not take away from the fact that it's very hard to get around the place. The areas to look at antiques are very crowded with either shelves of items, furniture, or other bulky items, so ideally it's best to look through this store when you're by yourself. However, it gets crowded very fast here, especially on weekends. The prices at this shop are pretty high. The way the store works is that there are many many sellers that have rented stations at the shop, who make their own prices for their items and sell items through the Jackson Square Mall. Perhaps the mall gets a percentage of what the items sell for, which make prices increase. The staff at Jackson Square Mall are all snobby. They know they're richer than YOU. Very rude, and slow workers. Usually speed of transactions doesn't bother me, but when I'm being treated rudely, it really gets on my nerves. I know my mom really likes looking at the stuff in this shop, and if it wasn't for her, I'd probably be an infrequent to nonexistent visitor. read more

We didn't buy anything while we were in today (we collect a very specialized thing - glasshouse whimsies - that are hard to come by), we were happily greeted as we entered the door, offered cookies and coffee, and told to feel free to look around and let them know if we needed any help. Standard antique store attitude. We asked about Rosebud Antiques (see my review on that joke of an antique store), and we were told that we were not the first to comment to them on that store. Not surprised. They have a wide selection of items from glassware to linens to furniture, and everything in between, and all at realistic prices. You never know what you'll find -some items are definitely vintage and takes you back to your grandmother's house and then there are times you'll find a random blouse with a Forever21 label on it...hmmm not so vintage. First off, place is super clean and well stocked. While this place has loads of treasures waiting to be found, the stock from the sellers has been pretty stagnant. If you plan to come here a time or two a month, forget it. I've been coming here for four years and rarely have I noticed much new merchandise, particularly upstairs, the basement has seen some things moved around and new sellers come and go. Overall, it's nice to kill some time and for a first time shopper, just don't plan to come back within a few months and find something new. I have also dealt with a crabby blonde lady in the past but outside of her the staff is super cool. Price wise, you're in an upscale area, expect to be paying antique shop prices versus "thrift" prices. read more

I am not an Antique shopper but after visiting this place, I think I've become one. Since I've never spent time in an antique shop there was a lot about this place that wowed me. Staff was friendly and offered to open up locked cases without hesitation (perhaps laying on the floor closing examining a lower shelf item was my silent way of asking). The layout of the place was great with themed sections. It was a little tight through some places while walking through but someone was still brave enough to make it through with a short stroller. I had the kids with me so I need to head back without them. That way I don't have to panic about them wanting to touch everything. As a bonus, this was a very fun museum of sorts and it was VERY interesting to see what caught their attention. read more

The sheer size is what gets it 3 stars in my book. Lots of stuff to look at, we were there for almost 2 hours and still felt like we were missing things! Spectacular variety, lots of clothes, to furniture, some newer handmade or up cycled items, pop culture items, books, jewelry, etc. Each booth is organized nicely, but there's really no flow from booth to booth. For example, there can be vintage Tupperware, followed by antique tools, followed by books, so if you're looking for something in particular, you'll really have to look through everything. (Which is usually expected!) I usually go to antique shops for the entertainment and history, but recently I've been looking for unique picture frames and film reels for our upcoming wedding decorations. The frames that I liked seemed a little pricey, especially since a lot of them were missing the glass and/or backing, but i don't have a lot of antiquing experience, so maybe I just set unrealistic expectations. We were there until closing time, the staff seemed nice enough but they weren't overly friendly by any means. They seemed very into the conversation they were having with each other... I really love when I meet someone that really has an interest in the items they're selling (or at least representing), but they didn't make conversation with us at all, which was kind of disappointing since you would think this awesome space would have a better atmosphere. I ended up bringing home a copper jack-o-lantern because I loved the rustic look, and it was something unique I could use for Halloween decorations, but there wasn't really anything else I couldn't live without. I'm sure I'll go back, because as anyone knows, a lot of the luck in finding great items is a hit or miss! read more

Very disappointed that I drove over an hour to reach this antique mall. I'm not familiar with La Grange or the fact that this mall is located right downtown. There were two vendors I was specifically interested in seeing. When I arrived, I asked to use the washroom where I was promptly told they do not provide public restrooms. What? You are large antique mall that could take hours to peruse and you don't provide a restroom? They could have told me to walk a block and hit any of the local restaurants but they just blankly stared at me. Needless to say, I made my visit short and never found the two vendors I was interested in. Masks weren't required if vaccinated which was nice but be sure not to drink anything on your way into town. I won't be returning. read more

I just moved back to La Grange and visited this longtime favorite local antique mall only to find it has undergone some changes, but not for the best. This used to be such a wonderful place to find vintage treasures. Many of my favorite sellers are gone and there are several empty booths. Some spaces are filled with items that are not antique or vintage . I found some nice Christmas items, but a few of the booths that usually stock nice holiday things were covered in plastic making it impossible to shop those spaces. My sisters, who made the trip from the city to shop were disappointed in the changes as well. The young man at the counter was friendly and the line to pay was not long. I am glad the historic building has not been torn down to create condos since I believe that was the original plan. read more

I've been a loyal and happy customer for about 12 years now, since we first moved to the area from downtown. I'm so comfortable in the place that I pretty much know who has the stuff I'm looking for, but there are always pleasant surprises. I'm a big flea market and vintage hunter, so I'm a bit puzzled by the comments about high prices. I frequently see items at Kane County, Elkhorn, and other area flea markets and know that the prices at Jackson are lower. For example, vintage blue Mason jars are typically around $9 at Kane County Flea, but I know the booth on the first floor sells them for $6. Little things like that are generally good markers for price points, IMO. The staff is pretty good about knowing who has what, so if you're feeling a bit overwhelmed, they're good about pointing you to vendors who carry the kind of things you're looking for. I agree with the comments about coming back often. The product turns over fast. I've missed out on a couple of things I really got my heart set on because I went home, then called a couple days later only to find out they were gone. But that means there's always fresh stuff to look at, which is why I go in about once every week or two. All in all, I love Jackson Square Mall. The prices are good, tons of selection, I like the style, and the staff are very helpful. read more

This antiques mall is fabulous! It's HUGE - over 10,000 square feet and two levels of labyrinthine rooms full of every kind of vintage and antique treasure you can think of: furniture, housewares, knickknacks, decorative items and artwork, hardware, accent pieces, accessories, clothing, jewelry... You name it, and they've probably got it. The space is made up of "booths" which are designated areas for individual sellers who bring in items to be sold. Different booths offer different styling motifs or themes, and some are just plain-old hodgepodge. We even spotted some kooky items like vintage Ouija boards, old Scrabble letters, and jars and jars of old buttons. They even had a selection of seasonally themed items - and vintage/primitive Halloween decorations are my favorite! Everything is very clean and neatly displayed - no dust or dirt in this shop! There's plenty of room to weave around between items without fear of knocking something over, which a klutz like me always appreciates... Everything is very professionally presented, and the employees are friendly, informational, and very helpful. Prices vary from low to pretty pricey, but everything is priced very fairly. We easily spent two hours wandering around and seeing all they have to offer. If you know anybody who's a fan of vintage, nostalgia, or who's even a collector of certain items, you'll find a gift for them here! Oh wow! I could spend all day here walking around and looking at all the cool stuff. I have a few very small collections of antiques like bathroom and kitchen products and brownie cameras. I found items for both collections at decent prices. Each vendor (actual vendor not present) has a small area in which their typically themed items for sale are cutely displayed (although it can all seem overwhelming and slightly cluttered). You can take all items at once from different vendors to the front for payment where they give you a detailed receipt and neatly package your finds. You;'ll find everything - records, books, toys, clothing, furniture, household items, collectibles and useable goods and even some brand spankin' new items spattered in. read more
