It was a huge place. I didn't like how no one talks to you ! You walk in and no hellos. Then I figure well the desk is not close to the door so maybe they can't here. It was not busy. I walked around went upstairs. And still nothing. When I walked by the desk not a hello or even acknowledgement. I did see some stuff I wanted to buy, but I did pass. I can look for these things at other places. I am not a fan of giving my money to people that don't want it. So try marketplace or eBay. read more

Wow. Ok first of all I visit this place as often as I am in the area as I love resale and consignment shops. I have frequented this place numerous times and have had the blessing of seeing it grow, rearrange and expand. Once I was in there and a worker there was so kind and helpful and even gave me a deal on the two chairs that I purchased. The most recent visit was just the opposite. No one to help or greet. I asked a question and was treated not only like I was stupid but said, "Here's the stairs right here", like I'm some sort of imbecile. I proceeded to want to check out and two workers were too busy complaining and I stood there and waited until they were done. Then when I gave my card she starts to tell me that my card wasn't accepted but then realized she put it in upside down. No apology just again an attitude. I spent over $50 and I didn't know that as a customer I'm such a burden. Take my advice hire friendly people who work only the floor to help customers if you're too busy to help and answer questions. I will still go but there are other shops in the area that I may consider visiting before I'll go back again. read more

Cait's came out to assess our "estate" (LOL), and provided an estimate and contract for our stuff. They returned on the agreed upon date (a little late) and loaded up the items we would like to sell. They were polite, efficient, and three guys hauled away two trailers of furnishings, and objects. They even took away the treadmill. Now we will wait to see if there are any takers (Cait's claims to advertise heavily), and some of our objects have to meet the minimum that we have set. Their estate sales are ridiculously overpriced. Even at half off on their last day the price is way above eBay completed listings. At least with eBay it's delivered to your door with a money back guarantee. Here's a perfect example, they asked 400.00 for a Yamaha psr320 keyboard. Same keyboard guitar center is selling for 55.00. Don't even consider Caits! The guy you first talk to tells you don't throw anything away. The "stuff" is what sells best. Clothing sells great. They even have a warehouse they could take items to. Then the woman arrives to look. I swear her snob nose turned up. Tells you the "stuff" doesn't sell. No one wants clothes unless brand new designer with tags. Who sells clothes like that? I have shopped Caits store before the warehouse, the warehouse, and their estate sales for years. I fine them very friendly, organized, clean, and sooo nice. I think the prices are very fair. a couple times I questioned a price I thought was high, but it was set by the homeowner, not them. if I've ever had a question, it has been answered promptly. I love their sales and have fun with the nice staff. if I was to have an estate sale, they would be my first choice!!! and I love stopping by the warehouse! they are always getting in new things!!! read more

I would leave no stars if I could George is uncaring for him it's all about the sale of the house. We didn't have enough for the estate sale but he would do one if we hired him to sell the house. He had his "guys" come clean the house prior to the estate sale and they threw everything into garbage bags and put them under the deck. In those bags were pictures and videos of our recently deceased parents along with cleaning supplies , money, keys and remotes. There was also a missing item that was in the house when they took pictures for the listing but gone prior to the estate sale. The estate sale ended up being a bust in George's words. On a sidenote the women that run the estate sales are fantastic. I could go on and on about George but won't. Stay away from George!!! read more

I have been shopping at Cait's Warehouse for years. As a matter of fact, I have NEVER walked out empty handed. I can ALWAYS find a treasure or three or four. We have moved to Florida and I miss shopping there every week. They have everything displayed beautifully and the inventory changes constantly. And the prices are phenomenal! That's why I would shop every week. So now when we fly back to see the grand-kids, I ALWAYS give myself at least one day to visit and shop at Cait's. The women in charge are wonderful. So helpful and always friendly and accommodating. I look forward to seeing them each trip. Would not recommend at all for estate sales. They were pushy to schedule, when we weren't ready, insensitive after my mother had just passed. Bad experience as they asked us if they could sell a couple of items from a previous sale in ours but then filled half the garage with stuff! Following the sale, they left a bunch of stuff in our garage for a few days (we had to call them to ask them to remove). There were also 4 items they left with us where we had to call the buyers to coordinate times to pick them up at a later time so we had to go back to the house each time and even had to drive one piece to a buyer's house. read more

Horrible experience with this business and I do not recommend. My offer for an item was accepted online, but apparently they offer that same purchase to many buyers and take the first to pay. Who operates that way? If you accept an offer, you honor the offer. If you send an email to the customer that their offer was accepted, you do not take other offers. Bad business all around. I went out of my way to get a van to pick up the product and fortunately checked with the vendor before I drove over 75 minutes. I will never shop your sales again and cancelled my other purchase. People go out of their way and shop online. Perhaps Cait's should figure out online shopping before engaging in the opportunity. I arrived exactly as instructed and neither the item nor a company representative were at the location. 45 minutes later, after phone calls, apologies, a turned around truck and an owner with plenty of excuses, the item was delivered. In May I ordered 3 items that were listed as in stock. A couple days later, Maranda emailed me to let me know only 2 of the items were available and would l like to substitute another item. I told her I didn't, but I had already paid for 3. A few days later she told me the 2 items shipped and asked if I had I received a credit for the one that wasn't in stock. I told her I hadn't. I received the 2 items, one of them was broken. I notified her and she asked that I send a picture of the broken item so she could file a claim as the package was insured. I sent her the picture of the broken item and label that was on the box. Despite several emails, I have never received a response. It is now September and I have not received the $76.15 refund that is due to me. Don't place any orders with this company, they will charge you and you won't receive your order. read more

It's taken me a great deal of thought and consideration to write this review. I was once a long time, loyal customer to Cait's- I attended any and all of their sales that I could; and I frequented the resale shop. Although after a while the unprofessional behavior of Caits's owner George started to shine through. Before one of his sales, I inquired about a box with my grandfathers last name- one in which I was certain had been given to goodwill without my knowledge after he passed away. I was not only given no information about the box- I was told they could not give me a price nor could it be paid for over the phone and picked up during the sale. I posted a review expressing my disappointment as I was a long time customer and had knowledge of them selling items over the phone in the past. My fiancé was able to get off work and attend the sale in person (per the requirements set by George in order to purchase the box). However HE REFUSED TO LET HER INTO SHOP UNTIL I TOOK THE REVIEW DOWN. So knowing how badly we wanted the box I removed/edited the review, it was nearly a year before I attended another Caits sale- at this time I was informed that a few of their employees had left the company to branch out on their own. & so I began the search to find them. Believe me, I posted everywhere and eventually they were found! After attending their first sale: EVER. I was extremely impressed, they did excellent. How ever later in the month I attended a sale of Caits and to my dismay they were discussing their former employees and the new business they started, commenting that they were small time; and that Caits was the "face of the industry" I was infuriated. It was despicable. A company should be able to commend their former employees on their new venture, and support them. A company who is truly the face of the industry would never have to put down another business, to make themselves appear better. I nicely placed the items I had planned to purchase on the check out table and informed them that I would not be purchasing these items , or any items from any of their sales. I told them how disrespectful it was to speak of former employees in such a negative way. If Cait's estates is the "face of the industry " then the industry SUCKS. They don't value their customers; for them it's all about the money. So before you allow them to host your estate sale, remember they didn't care about employees who'd been loyal to them for years, who have not spoken poorly of them. Also please consider the fact that they will be selling your loved ones belongings- and sentimental value and doing what's right is not their focus. read more

Cait's cart is terrible place to do business with. Do not give them your nice furniture to sell, they will ruin it. They gave my buffet table to good will two weeks after dropping it off with out my concent, while still under contract. I would not recommend Cait's Cart to any one buying or selling. I have been a customer at first Cait's Cart and Cait's Warehouse for a few years now. Always find nice stuff there and staff is sooooo nice. My bad experience has been with the private home Estate Sales that Cait's handles. So, a few weeks ago, my boyfriend and I went to our first Cait estate sale, I believe it was a house in Mokena. Anyway, I was shopping and already had my hands full and still had rooms to shop in. So, I asked this lady at the register if I could just put down the merchandise somewhere there while I shopped. Acting all flustered,and annoyed, she waved her hand towards the floor near her table and says, "you can just put it there" Anyway fast forward to today, we found out there were 2 Cait's Estate Sales going on - one in Tinley Park and one in New Lennox. We had a couple other non related estate sales to go to also. Anyway our 1st stop was the Tinley Park home. Got there about 9:05, looked around, but most of the stuff seemed really over priced. And alot of it was furniture, which I was not shopping for. Anyway, I finished looking around and found a cookbook stand (priced close to what you would pay on Amazon) and then a vintage small medium sized stapler. I went up to the register and lo and behold - the same sour faced lady. No greeting, nothing from her. She acts like SHE is the one doing the customer a grand favor by allowing the customer in to spend their hard earned money there. I asked the price and she told me and I asked for a negotiable price. She acted as if I had highly offended her and looked at me with a half disgusted look on her face. She says "No, no that is the price" So I didn't say anything else or haggle or anything - I simply turned around to return the items to where they were. Then rather loudly says "I'm not going to do any discounts, we have only been open 25 minutes!" I feel it was not necessary for her to add that and to say so loudly so everyone else in the room could hear. She is just plain too rude and un-welcoming to be dealing with customers. We got out of there and my boyfriend said that we are not going to anymore estate sales run by Cait's. So we ended up not going to the New Lennox one. But the great part is that we ended up at 2 estate sales run by Memories by Marea Estate Sales and found some great stuff. The whole staff at those 2 places were so nice and helpful. They know how to treat customers and make them feel welcome. read more

I was excited to stop in this business today due to previous good things I had heard as well as good reviews. I walked in and enjoyed browsing, even had my eye on a few items that I was going to potentially get. Until I saw a sign near the front desk for sale... It was a small wooden painted sign that said "Slave Quarters". I was completely dumbfounded. I picked it up and showed it to the young lady at the register and told her this was highly offensive and inappropriate to which she quickly directed me to another staff member. The other staff number, who had just greeted me very kindly a few moments prior, quickly grabbed the sign and said, "I don't know how that got there... We had a large stack of signs that came from someone's grandfather from the 1920s." However, the sign already had a price tag taped on to the back so it had been inventoried and placed on the selling floor, mere feet away from the front desk and cash register. I immediately turned and walked out, not willing to spend one penny in such an environment. Unbelievable and definitely something future customers should be aware of prior to patronizing. read more
