This was one of the worst emergency room experiences I have ever had. The staff was cold, rude, and completely lacking empathy during a medical emergency that was clearly more serious than a migraine. Despite repeatedly explaining my symptoms, the doctor did not listen and rushed through my visit with the apparent goal of getting me discharged as quickly as possible. I was vomiting uncontrollably, yet my condition was dismissed and minimized. There was no sense of urgency, concern, or thorough evaluation. I was later diagnosed with a CSF leak--a serious condition that may have been identified earlier had the medical staff taken the time to listen and properly assess my symptoms. Instead, I was sent away feeling unheard, unsafe, and medically neglected. The lack of compassion and attention to patient concerns in an emergency setting is unacceptable. Based on this experience, I would strongly advise against using the emergency department at this hospital. I would never recommend it to anyone seeking urgent or competent care. read more

I am ONLY leaving a two star because of the amazing staff that helped me on the night I went in to the emergency room. I am a SUPER hard stick and Kristen J did an amazing job caring for me and walking me through the process of taking my blood work and starting a line so I can get medicine and do some other tests. If I were rating her I'd leave 5 stars. She is an angel, not many in her line of work care so much for their patient the way she does. Especially when I was feeling bad. EVERYTHING ELSE was HORRIBLE. Also the team of neurologist you sent gave my family member dose of lacosamide intravenously without checking his heart. All causing a cardiac arrest on someone that didn't need to see any neurologist. He was already being seen by Baptist. My family member was already over their pneumonia, and you all started picking at them until you all infected him. Shame on you. You killed him. Major Misdiagnosis, Negligence, and No Communication! On October 25th, 2023, I had an MRI at Jackson West for my right shoulder. I met with an Emergency room physician, got an MRI, then the radiologist diagnosed a full supraspinatus tear and a partial subscapularis tear--two shoulder muscles. That same day, a surgeon from another hospital said I had no fear of the two shoulder muscles!! On October 30th, I call and informed the front desk that my surgeon (1st surgeon I dealt with) found no shoulder tears of the two muscles/joints. On November 10th, without notifying me, Jackson West radiologist added an addendum quietly, without notifying . I only discovered it myself on November 11th. I was completely shocked they (not the radiologist or ER doctor) never called me then or after--no apology, no voicemail, nothing about the real diagnosis of pathology and that the 1st diagnosis was completely wrong. During second diagnosis (addendum), the radiologist backpedalled documenting the shoulder muscles are in complete in-tacked, meanwhile the first documented diagnosis said there were 2 tears. It really showed they did not care at all. After such a severe initial error, I couldn't trust them about the addendum on my MRI diagnosis. I needed a second MRI and a musculoskeletal ultrasound elsewhere. Their failure of duty of care caused me prolonged suffering and delay in care, my pain was 10/10 most times. I sought new insurance for a trusted surgeon but couldn't use it. Nearly a year later, I paid out of pocket to see a surgeon who'd done thousands of surgeries--just to ensure proper care after Jackson. If you need a MRI at this hospital, I strongly advise extreme caution, given the extreme harm I experienced. It's really disgusting for the radiologist to find real diagnosis on her 2nd try that I have an issue with and not notifying at all or anyone else there, not even the ER doctor I first met with. If I could give Jackson West Hospital zero stars, I would. My grandfather went in for treatment and ended up having a stroke while in their care. Over the course of just two weeks, he went from being alert and communicative to completely unresponsive -- he is now in a vegetative state. The most heartbreaking part is how preventable this may have been, had the hospital staff been more competent and consistent. Every single day, we were told something different. One day it was "he's improving," the next day it was "his condition is declining rapidly." There was no clear plan, no communication, and zero accountability. The digitized records and rotating doctors only made things worse -- no one ever seemed to know what was going on. It felt like we were in a nightmare with no end, and my grandfather paid the ultimate price. This hospital failed him. They failed our family. The level of care was absolutely disgraceful and neglectful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone -- not even for a routine check-up. I had horrible a abdominal pain this morning. I was checked in right away and taken to the waiting room within 10 -minutes. The Dr did not even take 10 minutes to show up. I explained the nature of my visit and he ordered tests and IV. Nastaha (nurse), was such a sweetheart and provided excellent care! Gabriel, the technician who did the CT scan explained everything to me in detail, he is very dedicated and very professional. I hope I don't have to come back, but if I do.... I took my mom here for surgery since Dr.Rubio was highly recommended & I wasn't disappointed. A big thanks to him & the wonderful nurses: Ashley, Idalmys, Samantha & the PCTs: Adela & Mercedes for treating her with kindness & compassion. I'll always be grateful. The only complain is the awful recliner they have in the patient's room. The surgery was 4 days ago & my back is still sore from sitting on it. It's very uncomfortable & hard. The staff should really look into that & change that monstrosity. And the food from the cafeteria could be better. But overall I'm grateful to the doctor & the nurses. read more

Medical malpractice killed my family member here. They came for one issue and then they started messing around with his medications, previous diagnosis (which had nothing to do with them) and doing unnecessary test. And she said, I'm done! I said What???? She said I'm done. I had many medical issues, Colon Cancer, COPD, Shrogren syndrome, few Heart attacks, rheumatoid arthritis, some Lupus, im a complete package so I've seen so many needles in my life and like I mentioned before, Catherine it's been the only person in my life that have drawn my blood and I didn't feel NOTHING...I was so shocked that I couldn't believe her quickness and professionalism...got to love that Catherine...I wish I could mention other names of that amazing staff you have working there but I don't remember... I do remember and will always remember one name, Debra, my last nurse before I was discharge...Debra has to be the most understanding nurse ever, she was off the chain, what a nice lady, she was the friend I never had and needed it, got to love that Debra...thanks to all for the outstanding attitude and attention provided to me. Quiero expresar mi profunda tristeza y decepción por la atención médica que recibió mi padre en el hospital Jackson West. Lamentablemente, fue una experiencia muy dolorosa y frustrante para nuestra familia. Desde su ingreso el día 17 de mayo, notamos una gran falta de coordinación entre los doctores. No se lograban poner de acuerdo con un diagnóstico claro, lo que retrasó intervenciones importantes. Durante 10 días mi padre estuvo sin poder alimentarse correctamente. Intentaron colocarle sondas en tres ocasiones, pero todas se obstruyeron, y fue solo después de insistir como familia que finalmente le realizaron el procedimiento para colocarle una PEG tube. Desafortunadamente, eso ocurrió demasiado tarde. Al día siguiente, 6 de junio, le dieron el alta médica, a pesar de que presentaba presión arterial y pulsaciones elevadas, además de una infección de la cual nunca se nos informó claramente su origen ni tratamiento. Tres días después, el 9 de Junio, mi padre falleció en casa, dejando a toda la familia devastada. Siento, con profunda convicción, que sí se pudo haber hecho más por él. La falta de comunicación, la tardanza en las decisiones médicas críticas, y la poca sensibilidad hacia nuestras preocupaciones como familia contribuyeron a este desenlace. Mis Argumentos los puedo usar para fundamentar mi tristeza son 1. Negligencia médica potencial: La falta de acuerdo en el diagnóstico y la demora en una intervención clave como la colocación del PEG tube puede constituir negligencia, especialmente si impactó directamente en la nutrición de mi padre. 2. Alta médica inadecuada: Dar el alta a mi padre con signos vitales alterados y una infección no diagnosticada ni comunicada podría ser considerado como una decisión irresponsable y apresurada. 3. Falta de comunicación efectiva: Mi familia no recibió información clara y oportuna sobre la evolución de mi padre , ni sobre decisiones médicas importantes, como la causa de la infección o el porqué del alta médica con un estado clínico aún inestable. 4. The doctors are fabulous, the staff that comes in daily to see if the nurses are good, honestly don't want to hear the feedback and don't care, but the actual nurses got the day to day care are horrible. I had one nurse leave me on a bed pan for 10 minutes and walk out (I got myself off with all my strength that I had after a major operation the day before). Her initials are D. F. ( I'm kind not to print her last name) Again, Asking for medicine, they are happy to give out the Tylenol (350 mg per pill), but the medications ordered by the doctor - I've had to BEG before and after surgery. But They can hardly wait to give me my nighttime dose of ambien ( sleeping med). Then I'm calling someone to get me a bedpan to per for over 40 minutes, screaming "hello" and pushing the call button - nothing! I was ignored by the nurses passing by too. Jackson West is a beautiful campus located in Doral. My review is for the neurology department. The first time I visited, I came early to check in and they told me my appointment was canceled. I had a voicemail from the scheduler confirming my appointment the day before and I told them I spoke with someone to verbally confirm. Since I had the voicemail proof, they took me in and the dr saw me (this appt was scheduled 3 weeks ahead of time). The second time I came, I was called the same day to move my appointment up from 2:30 to 1 pm and I agreed. I got to the office at 12:45 and the scheduler was out to lunch. No one was able to check me in for my 1 PM appointment. This is very frustrating, especially since the commute is far for me. They don't prioritize value base care here. The scheduler ended up checking me in for my 1 PM appointment at 1:05 pm. Thi I came here a few weeks ago for a CT scan and I was a little late, of course they got an attitude with me for being late yet when they are late twice, we are supposed to accept it. There were about 5 patients waiting only. They couldn't inform how long it was going to take. So, I left to Baptist Hospital. Come to find out. This review is about the pharmacy. The pharmacy has very tight hours of operation ( Monday through Friday from 8:30 for 4:30pm). I suggest that the pharmacy opens at least until 6pm (Monday through Friday) and that it opens at least Saturday (some hours) and don't close on holidays. read more

The nurses in E.R. Hang up on you, and find it offensive if you want to find out about a family member. My uncle is 84 years old , and was in E.R, all of last night till today in the late afternoon. Like five employees in this hospital have hung up on me. Even his nurse in the fourth floor. I would never, ever want to end up in this hospital. Emergency room department lacks patient quality and care. I was in there for horrible back pain and fever after being put into a room there was no compassion at all. No blanket no pillow no one came to even ask me my medical conditions or even ask me current medications. They gave me a CT scan and a covid test. They sent prescription to Walgreens and sent me off. I was not given my blood work results to top it off They asked me for a urine sample that was left and no one took the sample like they said. I tried logging into the portal they never gave me a code. I've called all I do is get transferred to different numbers finally after one hour a lady come on the phone her name is Veronica Lara extremely unprofessional and rude to tell me they would call back because they couldn't do anything for me. Also I would have to go in person mind you I can't even move plus I have covid. It is 2:26AM, I will begin by saying that the emergency area, inside by the nurses station is very loud. There is no respect to the patients. My mom arrived to this hospital around 3:00PM. She was put in a bed in one of the halls since around 4 PM. Lab work and scan were done like at 9:30PM. To make this story short, she was admitted and told that she will go to a room to keep her in observation. We are still In the same hall and other than a nursing party happening, no one is really around checking on the patients. Patients can't even rest because of how loud this place is. I do not recommend this hospital. Mind that I didn't go to Hialeah Hospital thinking that this new place in Doral will be more suitable for my mom, but oh my, what a big surprise!! The facility is nice and clean, the scan tech was polite and professional but I can't think of anything else positive... read more

Come meet your e-Doc. You heard that right, while in the emergency room, the nurse rolled in the doctor to see a patient. There's a saying in Miami "si quieres morirte vete pal Jackson" and it's a 100% right. Went on 10/11/24 and in the hallway there was another patient spitting blood while two Doctors were sitting in the nurses station chatting. After an hour the doctor spoke to him and didn't even check his throat. 15 minutes later the man had a respiratory arrest. He got intubated and died within 20 minutes of being stabilized. It was so scary to see medical negligence in front of our eyes. 3 other patients that were waiting asked to be discharged right there and there after seeing that. To make matters worse, two new nurses said "Dude that was my first time seeing that, how cool." "Me too, we just look our v1rg!nity together". It was heartbreaking to hear them say that. read more
