Been in line for almost 2 hours for an overrated underworld. Do not recommend. If I would have known this I wouldn't have paid for this crap

Love this haunt. One of the scariest in the US. If you like to be scared, this is the place for you.

Not bad at all for a local attraction. I came with a group in 2016, and we all enjoyed it. It's definitely haunt worth checking out.

Fun, spooky, scary, frightening, it had it all. Price ($25) was a bit high but all in all, a great time had by everyone in our party!

Great haunted house in the greater Mid Michigan area!…read more First, the location--it's located out in a rural area, a ways south of Jackson. Yes, this probably makes for a bit of a drive but adds to the overall experience. Driving through the dark woods, I could imagine we were straight out of a horror movie. Upon arrival, the sprawling property, a former pig farm, does not disappoint. The property is big.. perhaps too big considering there seemed to be a lot of unused space in the middle between the haunted houses. The haunt does a really great job with the staging/waiting area. Great detail here and I loved the way the line was situated to allow the actors to easily move about and frighten folks in line. Great attention to detail in here too. The waiting area can add so much to the overall haunt experience and I'm excited when a place uses it to full advantage. The houses themselves: DarkSyde has 4 distinct houses, but they are basically all strung together, one after another. In other words, we waited in line once and then went through each attraction in order. They did not have a hayride or zombie paintball going this year, but the 4 houses provided enough activity for the price. They had Labrynth/medieval themed maze, your now-mandatory killer klown 3D maze, an outdoor pallette maze that was actually a maze, the "rusthole" and a pirate theme maze. Of these, I enjoyed the Rusthole the most. It's an interesting theme - sort of industrial factory gone out of control. Lots of strobes, darkness and loud noises. Good stuff. Some constructive suggestions: the outdoor pallet maze was a cool idea but turned out to be too confusing. Our group got turned around and accidentally exited out of what we later guesses was a safety/chicken exit. From here we were so confused we almost missed out on the Pirate maze which comes next. The actors here could do more to help guide people through or they need to block the safety exits better. The end is also a little disappointing - there is a good final surprise in the pirate maze, but then you are left to go down a long hallway to fill out a survey. Kinda anticlimactic. Could develop the ending to be more of an intense grand finale. There is also more the haunt could do with all the space in the middle of the attraction (the big grass area with bonfire) to keep people engaged when not going in the haunted house itself. All in all a great experience in the Michigan haunted house scene!

So dope. Everything was homemade and the scare actors were very nice people (out side of being…read morescary)

They didn't even make us feel silly for coming without any kids with us lol! The exhibits were very detailed...so much to see! I would have given a 5 star review, but I think $15 per adult is a little pricey.

Wow. I haven't written a yelp review in a long time but this place deserves coming out of…read moreretirement. What you will see at the town of Christmas: 1.) Dog houses painted to look (somewhat) like an igloo. 2.) Nightmare worthy elf toys that may have come from the haunted house display. 3.) Lots of old Christmas props that were on their way to the dumpster given a 2nd (or maybe 3rd...4th....5th) chance at life. 4.) Plenty of sketchy staircases with handrails that are no where near up to code. 5.) Plenty of opportunities for pictures. Actually it's pretty much the only thing to do here...some may make for a cute photo if you are handy with your camera...most will make for the type of photo you show your friends and family later when they say "it couldn't be THAT bad". Things you won't see at the town of Christmas: 1.) Heat....that's a lie...there are some space heaters that the employees are huddled around. But bring a coat..and gloves...and a hat....and some liquor. 2.) Any activities worthy of the price of the ticket. Besides photos you can color some coloring pages or sit and watch a movie that I highly doubt the owners have proper permissions to be playing. That's it. 3.) A full set of teeth on santa. Not that it's required to be a santa...I'm sure the cookies have not been kind over the years but ya know....pictures. 4.) A quality photo....there are elves all over the place eager to take a picture for you but it's incredibly dark and the props are impressively low quality and creepy. You have to use flash to see anything...but when you use flash you can see things you really don't want to see. 5.) Where your $20 went. If this were the first year this were here I wouldn't be as horrified but it isnt....this is worth maybe $5 for an adult not $20. I will say having santa tell kids to come in his backdoor was a classy touch. And the grinch character was pretty good. All the people working there were VERY nice....but wtf is this place!?!?!

I can't believe no one has written a review on this small town haunt! Maybe no one in small towns…read morearound uses Yelp? But I am here to review just the drive-thru haunt in this small town. I give it 5 stars for sure! The only issue I had was that the staff didn't mention to clients to wear a mask if they decide to roll their windows down only because I am from Los Angeles and the drive thru haunts I've been to mentions to wear a mask if you roll your windows down. Due to hard times, it is a blessing to have a drive thru haunt to get into the Halloween spirit! Anyway, I give major props to the scareactors that were involved in the drive thru haunt! I went the day before Halloween with my brother-in-law and my husband as I am visiting family in town. We wanted to do something Halloween-ish and found this gem. I am glad we went! I went to two drive through haunts in LA and one in San Diego and the San Diego one and this haunt were the best ones! Although I do give this one major thumbs up! (More than the San Diego one actually!) We were scared back to back, had chainsaw guys follow us, Chucky stalking my hubby in the passenger seat, scary clowns, you name it! The website didn't give much information and there are no You Tube videos in this so we were surprised. This small town haunt is pretty epic (the drive thru)! We didn't do the others that were available due to the pandemic but the drive thru was very entertaining. We loved it! It was cheap ($25 per car) and lasted around 10 minutes. I wouldn't mind flying to Michigan to do this around Halloween! This haunt is on top of my list next to Universal Halloween Horror Nights and Knott's Scary Farm! TIP: Get there early! The line of cars can get VERY long the later you go!
