This is the second year we've been here. It's a Halloween must if you like to get scared. I'd say kids over 8-10 yrs old. This place is pretty Erie. It's well done. The actors don't touch you and role play pretty well. Warning it is pretty scary and your heart will pound. You also have to do a pretty substantial walk. It's prob .5 to .75mi long. Some of the trail can be difficult and some of the buildings get tight. Prepare to get scared and be uncomfortable. Pro tip let the group in front of you get 3-4min ahead of your group. There is no organization when purchasing tickets online and showing up at your establishment. Had multiple people with us in our party and after four hours of still waiting, there was no end in sight leaving at 11:30 at night paying for tickets and not having the opportunity to walk through is unconscionable. There are many other opportunities for a haunted house that are ran more efficiently. We witnessed multiple people leaving in anger. read more

Waiting 2 hours in the "que" to get a text that I could go through the forest. Only to get up there and have to wait another 45 min to actually be let into the forest. Only to then catch up to the people infront of me and several others and go through the whole forest ​in a large group. That's not even the best part. While waiting, we witnessed a group speaking to the owner trying to get a refund because of the wait times. The owner refused. The group got upset and started yelling about how awful the business is. The owner was doing the right thing by being polite telling them to have a good day. Then the group leaves and the owner decides that's not enough for her. She grabs her phone and chases them down to post about them all over social media. It was very unprofessional and unnecessary. They were leaving, she chose to chase them down and continue to instigate it. Later she comes back and talks to a group of her friends convincing them to leave good reviews to counter that man's bad review he said he would leave. Long story short. I would not recommend. My son and his friends attempted to go last Saturday. After being told the wait would be less than an hour, they paid. They then waited for almost two hours. They had to leave without even getting in due to curfews. How you don't offer refunds for minors trying to be responsible is beyond me. read more

Ridiculously unprofessional conduct as a business entity. I went to the event last night and because I pre purchased my ticket thought that I didn't have to stop by the ticket booth. After waiting for 40 minutes, an employee heard that I didn't have a wrist band and instructed me to leave the very front of the line and go to the ticket booth and start over. I told her no and to try again and the Owner came and scanned my ticket. I told the Owner that I liked her more than the employee. I am not sure why the first employee didn't ask to see my receipt, try to help, etc. STAY TUNED FOR MORE, it gets juicy! After finally being left alone by the Owner, I, who was only one in my party, didn't want to hold the 70 people up in line (ex: they let a group through every 6-9 minutes), so I tried to piggy back on the group in front of me that I had made some small talk with. They were rude and the guy was glaring at me pretty harshly. After I protested some more the Owner told me to step into a corner (I did because come in there's 70 people behind us). I think her goal was to give me some type of lecture about my behavior so I disengaged and left without going through. I will not be receiving a refund. After leaving a review of the situation the trail commented and made false allegations: 1. I got violent and physical when I didn't touch anyone 2. I gave people the finger when I didn't 3. Telling me I should not have come with only one person, which, if that is a suggestion they should have on their web page 4. Completely ignoring a complaint I had in 2022 when me and a friend parked and a parking employee came up and started teasing us and shoved a parking wand in my friends stomach to hold. Pretty odd to do to a stranger and in the extreme dark. It gets better! I sent the contact forum a message telling them to check out my awful review with a smile emoji that was intended to be sarcastic and the next day they emailed me and told me that A. "They saddled up another visitor to leave a review that would counter my review (the person hasn't, I am curious if they gave out my name to the person, which, they would only know my name from my credit card transaction, which I'm pretty sure is either fraud or in that family of laws. B. I am depressed C. Either "We hope you get help" or "I hope your life gets better" Ridiculously unprofessional behavior as a business. read more

This is a scary and well designed haunted house- perhaps one of the best non-professional haunted houses the I have attended. It was hard for me to determine how to rate this attraction, without separating it from the professional and extremely scary haunted houses that I have experienced. So- 5 stars, but recognizing that there are elements that the experts with lots of cash do on a whole other scale. There are two attractions here- The Manor and The Trail- a combo pass for the 2 events is $25.00. It seemed to be worth it, mainly because it reduced the line for the second attraction and saves you $2 a piece. On Sundays, the combo is $20.00- so a $7 savings each! All combo pass holders were required to experience the The Manor first, then the trail. The line for the Manor seemed to take longer than expected for the amount of people ahead of us, but that may have been due to the makeup of the line (and the attendees of the attraction)- almost entirely teenagers. Haunted attractions generally attract youthful folks, but this crowd seemed especially high school aged. Line cutting and general shenanigans. There was also a creepy old man (not an actor) who was trying really hard to barter/bully his way to the front of the line, so even the old get up to shenanigans. Thankfully, at least in a group of four, you don't get paired with other groups. Also, as in the case of most of these types of attractions, there were port-a-potties. Not unexpected, but never a plus. The Manor was quite good, with some nice scares and unexpected twists. Good scary/funny communication between the actors and guests right at the beginning. There were some rooms where it wasn't entirely clear how much interaction was expected between the guests and the actors. Should we stay and chat? Were they prepared for that? Or should we keep moving for the next group? Not always the scariest, but very well staged. Some fun structural elements that I won't spoil. The Trail was really fabulous. You walk along a dimly lit trail, following a series of red lights that are close enough to each other to keep you from getting lost, but far enough away from each other to make you feel some trepidation. The actors are expert at inserting themselves into groups. This trail is a good combination of a sense of generalized dread and the kind of startle scares that haunted houses are known for. Quite a long experience (in a good way) with some really stand-out moments both from the actors and the structural features. At the end is a pitch black maze/house thing that our group was really really terrible at- so terrible that after trying to creepily stay in character and hint at the exit, the actors finally took pity on us and just pointed us towards the door. The only down side of the trail was one actor during/after the hillbilly area who stuck with our group maybe a little too long to be fun-scary. He smelled strongly of liquor and had a believable snarl. Hopefully part of the act and not just an intoxicated worker or stranger. With the many encounters with the actors at this event, this was the only one that stuck out as a little off and unpleasant (and not in a haunted way). After the maze, there was the opportunity to buy low priced concessions (or Ghoulmet Cuisine, according to the website): donuts, cider, soda, bottled water, boxed candy, things to dip in nacho cheese, etc. There is well lit area in front of a scary fake tree with a face where you can take a picture holding a sign that says "I survived the Terrorfied Forest" or something. A nice touch- it gave me something to Instagram. Overall a really fine seasonal attraction. I look forward to going back in future years to watch this haunted experience grow and change. read more

I didn't find the forest that scary. A few issues: 1. The line for the forest took 2 hours to get through. I know there isn't much the owners can necessarily do about that, but regardless, it was still a negative experience in 34 degree weather. 2. You enter the forest with your group, but you all will quickly become stuck in a line of 20 people due to chokes in the path and houses that slow down the pace. This ruins the atmosphere and surprise as you can see what is going to happen just fifteen feet ahead of you when the people in front of you get jump scared. Again, not much the owners can really do about this, but it is a negative and should be pointed out. 3. There were many instances where the well designed set our house (there are many small structures/"houses" you walk through along the path) would just have no scares. I understand not every 20 feet can contain an actor or a jump scare, but they should try and incorporate a few more jump scares or actors. Also, there was one room with an electric chair and two actors... I'm not sure if there was supposed to be sound effects or not, but it was a bit silly when the guy in the chair was convulsing with no electric chair sound or sparks. A strobe light would've worked well in that room to make the convulsions appear more scary. Onto the positives: 1. The sets were well designed and some were very creative (the house at the end in particular). 2. The lighting along the forest was atmospheric and moody. Just bright enough to see where you're going, but not too bright to ruin the dark vibe. 3. The path itself was fun to walk and I particularly enjoyed walking beside the lake for one portion of it. 4. Most of the actors did a fine job and the makeup, for the most part, was well done. We did not enter the manor as the line was also long and we wanted to get home, so I can't comment on that. Overall, I had a fun time, but it wasn't as scary as past reviews made it out to be and there were some other major issues I had with the forest. I'm not sure if some of it may be due to the change in ownership? If I were to go again I'd want to go as soon as they opened or at the very end of the night, to hopefully avoid a 2 hour wait... read more

Absolute horrible experience. Arrived at 8:30 pm and did not start the event until 1:30am. Then when my group went through the actors were not enthused and one of them broke character to call us immature for complaining. The scares were predictable and it took about 20 minutes to walk through. Then at the end we were almost kicked out because some drunk was messing with our group. That pretty much ruined the whole experience of the forest and made me wish I went to a charity haunted house. that way the money would at least go to some good. My group and I traveled an hour to get to Pinckney because the reviews were so high. Our hopes were high and in line we were informed by a worker that they were ranked top of the country for haunted houses. These things were what kept us in line. Afterwards these reviews proved to be the falsest claims I personally have ever heard. DO NOT WASTE A WEEKEND ON THIS UNDERWHELMING HAUNTED HOUSE. However if you are under the age of 10, this is probably the place for you. That's about the only group of people that will be scared of this attraction. And that is a pretty generous rating. Don't plan on using the bathroom often on your 4 hour wait. That is another huge line of itself. Four dark porta-johns for 1000+ people to share. Overall the drive through the little towns and silver lake was great. Only to be ruined by a bad experience at The Terrified Forest. More like Dogshit Forest read more

Returned to the Forest after a few years, and it's still a lot of fun. We were told it is under new management, and the entrance setup is definitely different and more elaborate. Our group came on a Thursday night, shortly before closing time of 10 pm, and we only waited maybe 20 minutes to get in - for $20 general admission this was great. I think Fridays/Saturdays there is a significantly longer wait, so you may want to purchase a VIP ticket for an additional $10. This year, there is only the forest as an attraction - the house is closed due to building issues. The forest itself was a good time. There were new scares and new setups, but it still felt like the classic haunted forest I've visited so many times. In my last review, I mentioned obstacles being incorporated in the walk - it seems these have been removed for the most part. Not as much crouching, maneuvering, or terrain changes, which I was sad to see gone. My only complaint is the same as several years ago - there were quite a few long stretches of no scares. Some things to look at, but nothing to spook you. Again, this could be due to coming on a slower night, but I would have liked to see more actors hiding and creeping around. This walkthrough as well, we continuously caught up to the group ahead of us, so we did have most of the actor scares spoiled. Not much can be done about scared, slow walkers unfortunately. Overall, it's a fun time. Not sure I would wait more than 2 hours to get in, but on an off night - a good haunt. read more

I am a big fan of haunted attractions but have not really tried out the different options in the area. To see a strong collection of 5 star reviews really excited me. I was a little let down. We purchased the combo tickets for both attractions. The wait for the manor was uncomfortably long, and disproportionately so to the length of the time it took to walk through the haunt. I left feeling that it was not worth the wait time and money. The forest was a different story. It was most enjoyable. The overall length and pacing was just right with a great variation of sights, sounds, and encounters. And the wait wasn't quite as long as the line for the manor. It was my first forest haunt and has set a high bar for all future ones. I recommend skipping the manor and saving yourself time and money and just partake of the forest. read more

We arrived at 7:30 for tickets since we heard there would be a wait. The forest didn't open until 8. We got our tickets and we were in line for the forest at 7:55. At 8:30 I started to wonder if they hadn't opened yet because we didn't move. By 9:30 we had moved 10 feet. Needless to say we waited from 7:30 until 11:15 until we finally got in and then waited in another line. We didn't get out of there until midnight. There has to be a faster more efficient way to run this. I never would have gone had I know I was going to be standing there for an hour and 45 min. The forest was fine. I have been here a few times, but not since they have had the new owners. The lines to get tickets could have been handled much better. Extremely long lines, and only one person selling tickets at the ticket booth. The line should also be monitored, because of people cutting in lines. The place was packed, yet only one outdoor toilet! When I had been here years ago, they had a whole row, not just one! The forest had more haunted buildings to walk through, and it was pretty good. The haunted house was not open I was told because they could not get the okay due to permits. The paths are extremely uneven, so you need to really watch your step. I liked the idea of walking through the woods, which made it more fun, but I think that they needed more scary music to go along with the walk. The lines were so long, and even though we paid $20.00, we upgraded to the $30.00, just to avoid the over 2 hour wait in line. However, if I had to do it again, definitely not worth the upgrade cost-wise. read more

We waited in line for THREE HOURS to get into the haunted attraction, only to have to wait in ANOTHER line once you enter the haunted house! Everyone there was super irritated, reasonably so. I've never had to wait in line that long for anything before. They don't offer refunds, and they also don't tell you how long the wait will be before you get in line after buying your ticket. They easily made so much money off of people just who waited in line then left out of irritation. The haunted attraction was fun once you finally got into it. Genuinely made me scream a few times. but the wait to get in was absolutely unreal. If you're planning to come, be prepared to be on your feet for 4 hours. read more

Be prepared for a 3 hour wait surrounded by drunks if you go on a Saturday night. Only 1 port-o-potty for a few hundred to share too. Additional tip: If you buy tix ahead you can bypass line #1 at the entrance, but that is not clear until you are at the front of the line. They only let 4-5 people in every 3-4 minutes, so the wait is forever in the cold. Once in the forest its a great event. Unfortunately it was overshadowed by all leading up to it. Don't waste your time or $ on the weekend unless you buy the VIP pass. We arrived at 9pm and left at 12:30am cold, hungry & thirsty. I trust they will better manage these issues in the future as there are new owners, but definitely proceed w/ caution. read more

I'd say 3.5 stars. I did the combo house plus forest for $25 dollars. Pretty inexpensive cost. The house had a few scares to it. Overall low budget house though. I've been in much more elaborate haunted houses before. Then we did the forest. That lasted quite a while. It was good. Again I got scared quite a few times. There was a little more effort with decorations in the forest with some cheesy cheap props here and there. One thing I didn't like is the fact of the people that scare you aren't dressed up enough. A lot of them were wearing jeans and hoodies with just a mask or a simple painted face. But I guess for the price it was fine. More elaborate haunted houses probably cost more than just $25. Lines were not too long for a Friday night either. read more

Okay I've been to many haunted forest throughout the years. This one is still the best! Its long, the acting is great, the actors come out of nowhere when you least expect it, and they divert your attention on other props to distract you from what is about to appear. I have a couple suggestions if any of the Jaycees from pinkney read this. At the entrance where you guys have that tree with signs for people to hold and to take pictures, I think a monster should be hiding in the tree and should appear in the pictures through the hole you have in the tree. Also the car you have back in the woods is a great distractor, also maybe put a monster in the car. The temptation to look in the car gets me every year. I always expect to see something in the car but there is never a person in there. or use the car as a distractor and have something else appear from up above. Just a few suggestions otherwise you guys do a awesome job congrats. See you next year. read more

I'm the type of person who loves to be scared, but there's a difference between scary and something that's gonna scar me for the rest of my life. Don't get me wrong it was very fun at first people were chasing me and jumping out and it was such a adrenaline rush! But then a guy with a chain saw chased me and my friends off the trail and into the woods... I was screaming and tripped and cut my foot by then I was crying (I'm 14 by the way) and was begging the guy to stop. But of course he didn't finally someone behind us made him stop and we ended up staying with another group for the rest of the time because I was worried that would happen again. It really was fun but if you get scared easily I'm not sure I would recommend this. But other than that i really did have fun and it was very exciting! read more

The haunted forest was fair, I mean for 20 bucks not bad! But the line was fricking horrible we got there at 9:30 pm and didn't leave until after 1:00 am, if I would have known it was going to take that long I would NEVER have gone!!!! To say the least the forest was ok but honestly not worth waiting that long for! If you have over 4 hours to spend, by all means go for it! The reason it took so long to was waiting in two separate LONG lines! One for tickets and one for the forest itself! No thanks, after that long I wasn't even in the mood anymore! read more

We had planned on going Halloween night but it was closed due to a rain storm. Lucky for us they were open Nov 1st - which turned out to be the best night ever to go! No line, and the weather was perfect. The forest itself was super impressive and really scary. So many elements to this! There were numerous tunnels and haunted wooden shacks, a carnival area, a graveyard, a doll room, skeleton room, zombies, monsters, general creepiness without the cheesiness that alot of better known haunted attractions seem to have. All with the backdrop of what looked like a truly beautiful forest that I'd love to see during the day! You walk through the entire thing guided by dim red lights strung among the trees that add so much to the general ambiance. So much work has clearly gone into this production, I will definitely be back next year. I think we were in there for almost an hour! You can't beat that for $18, which is much less than other places that are nowhere near as good often charge. Love this place soooo much. Wanted to turn around and go back in after it was over. Best haunt for your $$$. Exciting, different- not the same old tired typical stuff. Family run, family friendly. The line may get long at times- BUT your walk thru the forest is 30-45 minutes. The house is a blast from entrance to exit. I've seen young kids go in/out fine- to grown ups freaking out. Worth the trip, value, good laughs and scares. Check it out! read more

Definitely the best haunted event I've been to. Line wasn't too long (lines I don't mind when I'm properly dressed and have good company), people seemed to love working there and it was all around just well put together.
