The lack of service mentioned in another review probably has to do with the fact that it is run by volunteers. It is also generally a VERY slow place to work (I have talked with the people in there a lot) and when you get literally a costumer every three hours I can see why they may get caught up in a personal conversation..... sometimes it is other regulars (customers) who have sat down to chat as I would guess was the situation Marie was talking about because they never have more than two people on at a time as that would be ridiculous in the small slow store. If not being greeted ruins a shop for you so completely than I would say maybe you have the problem...........As a shop girl myself else where I know about 75% of the time I greet people they either IGNORE me completely or act like I am the most annoying person on earth. Its happening less because I can read people better. I can usually tell the ones that want to be greeted helped from the leave me alone types.

So there I sit, watching in awe as the only other employees who could help me, was a chic and some older dude who looked as if he wasn't gonna help me until he was finished flirting with the young lady who was filing some folders. Now I do apologize because she was pretty and I could see why he'd be so upset with me.. but I was starving and now the only one who can help me is glaring at me from across the room as he walks over to me with a little smirk as if to say "thanks a lot there, genius". So he asked if I ever been there before and I said yes but that I forgot when..then this is where it starts getting weird..because this man starts saying something to the effect of "oh it says here that u haven't been here for food for A couple years"...which means you been supporting yourself like a real man"...ok..first of all, I was there bcuz I was so hungry..and I needed food i didn't need to hear these biting insults from a ponytailed punk who looked like he never missed a meal in his life. So they sent some barfly who pointed to certain boxes that seemed to contain TRASH. long story short, I left that place with 2 loaves of bread.a couple rotten pairs. a little pack of cookies and about 3 bags of lettuce..I SWEAR..I stood in awe as people were walking out with sandwich meats, .milk, Gatorade, can goods, fresh fruit, etc. So I don't know how I made this guy so mad, but I did...it was a hot day also...with no liquids and only a bag of lettuce and a loaf of bread I knew I was in for a doozy...I'll. Never waste my time there again...it just seemed like theyd rather keep the food themselves..very stingy and cold.. not the image the Starvation Ar---oops, I mean Salvation Army has projected until Now. If the guy is reading this I just wanna say sorry for asking for help when I did because it interrupted your flirting with the secretary in your office..I was just hungry bro...I'll ever bug you for food again ok buddy? After donating my items, I noticed a DKNY tote bag for $20! You could probably purchase this new at TJ Max for not much more. What's going on with independent thrift stores that are pricing like Goodwill? When I asked about the high pricing on the DNKY tote bag, the clerk quipped back some sarcastic remark. I have dropped off some nice donation items before at this establishment, but no more. I will do my research and find a non profit that gives my donations away to people in need for free.
