Jackxn Of All Trades was recommended to me by a neighbor. I recently hired this company to do a leaf removal on my property (a little less than a half acre) that is hilly and rocky to the point that gasoline powered hand-held grass cutting machinery must be used rather than traditional lawn mowers. This company did a wonderful job with the yard clean-up, and I am currently in the process of employing them to do grass cutting twice a month on a seasonal basis as well. I hired Jackson to remove an old through the wall air conditioner and put in a new one. He and his partner also had to replace the wooden frame around the unit which they did and needed to come back in a couple of weeks to stain it which they emphatically promised to do. I paid Jackson $400 total which included coming back to stain the frame. Yesterday I called him and he said he had fired his partner and would come back to stain the frame "at an additional cost" which I disputed and he claimed he did not know anything about staining the frame. I have his written receipt which clearly shows each cost: remove the old unit, $100, install new unit $300 and trim and stain replacement frame $100. Total $500 . It also states "Paid in full" Aug. 27, 2024. I sent him an email yesterday after our phone conversation and he has not responded. In my view, this is THEFT. Do not hire this contractor! read more
