Top Notch Cafe. Located in Neal's Yard. It does have limited seating so you will be lucky to snag a seat. I happened to be passing on a very rainy weekday so there were a few open, and I took the opportunity. Tasty snacks available. The Jerusalem Bagel was soft and warm served w/Labneh & sweet pickles. The Portobello mushroom, peanut satay, spring onion and kimchi toastie was also an interesting choice. My sister loved her cappuccino and she's a coffee snob. I also had an Earl Grey with milk. Everything we had was enjoyed altogether and presented very well. This has been one of my favorite cafes I've found this trip in London. Cute hidden coffee shop in Neal's yard. I actually originally found this place on Instagram but ended up randomly bumping into it while exploring. I got lucky and got a seat right by the open windows into Neal's Yard. I ordered a large latte, Jerusalem bagel, and this cute little coconut tart. The Jerusalem bagel: - it came with labneh (which is basically middle eastern cream cheese) and cucumber salad. Both were refreshing and delicious, especially on the hot summer day I was there. Coconut tart: - I'm not entirely sure what the name of the tart is but it was just so cute, I had to try one! You wouldn't know it was coconut on the outside because all you see is a big kiss of toasted meringue, but the sweet coconut filling was a really nice surprise. The tart crust was a bit on the hard side but let's be honest, I didn't get the treat to eat the tart base. If you're looking for a nice place to grab some coffee and a little nosh then I'd definitely recommend this spot! read more

I popped into here last week. It's a teeny-tiny place but the array of food on the counter is generous. I got for lunch takeaway a portobello mushroom, peanut satay and kimchi sourdough toastie as well as the broccoli tahini and rainbow salad. The staff was quite nice. Prices raise the eyebrow slightly but man that toastie was DELICIOUS. Rich and moreish. And just the perfect hint of spice. The salads were also flavourful but the toastie was by far the winner. Tucked inside Neal's Yard, a hidden triangular courtyard off trendy Neal Street in Covent Garden, Jacob the Angel is "a hidden gem," to quote one pleased customer. We came here after 26 Grains next door proved to be too slow. It was our gain, as there was no wait at the counter and the food was delivered promptly. My guest described the avocado toast as among the best she's ever had -- although it could have been a touch warmer. Cappuccino was also excellent. All considered, I would no longer consider Jacob the Angel a consolation prize but rather a destination of itself. read more

Jacob the Angel is a perfect pit stop, where you can warm your hands over a coffee drink and indulge in a sweet baked treat. We popped in here during a shopping expedition in Covent Garden, and were lucky to find a seat. This place is TINY. It's basically a corridor with a counter at the end, with light wooden booths and tables along the sides. On that counter you'll find piles of delicious-looking baked goods, from madeleines to the tart of the day (when we went it was rhubarb), and then sandwiches along the side. I ordered two lattes while my partner claimed a table, and couldn't resist a thick slice of banana bread. "Would you like it toasted with espresso butter?" the woman behind the counter asked. It wouldn't have occurred to me to toast the bread (warm it up, yes of course), much less add butter to it. I couldn't say no. And, let me tell you, this marvelous butter took it to a whole other dimension. I wasn't hungry after the milky coffee and hunk of banana bread, but I was tempted to try all the things on that counter. I'll be back another cold and rainy day. read more

Nice, clean bright place in Neal's Yard at/near Covent Garden. We had takeaway coffee today. A Latte and a Flat White. Each drink had a coffee cup customized to the drink. My cup had Flat White printed on it while the Latte cup had Latte printed. The Coffees were perfectly prepared - great cups of Coffee. My daughter had the Hot Chocolate the previous day, she described that the Hot Chocolate tasted like drinking Chocolate from a high end Chocolate purveyor - she loved it. We saw very appetizing pastries for sale- no room today in our tummies - we'll be scouting them out in the future. We returned for lunch. A wonderful experience likewise. The Smoked Trout Sandwich was great. We also loved the Kale Salad and the Mushroom Tart. The Coffee was well made again! We're glad we made it back to Jacob the Angel for lunch. As an added bonus, there is a Bambi street art featuring Princess Diana as Mary Poppins with Princes Charlotte and Prince George at one of the entrances to Neal's Yard. read more

Ok the coffee shop next door had a line and limited seating and so ended up here. Not sure why the reviews aren't as good when I think Jacob the Angel is darling and amazing! The avocado toast is 5-star amazing and the almond croissant is one of the best croissants I've had in the whole wide world. Had to get another one the next morning before catching my plane back to the US. Jacob the Angel should get better credit. It's a wonderful little place for excellent coffee and small tasty breakfasts. read more

The food was good and the coffee looks strong but unfortunately I could not drink the oat milk they used have gone bad (either that or the espresso is sour) And the staff (1 person) was way too snooty for me when I insisted on one brand of oat milk over another even thought they served both. When I brought it to the counter they proceeded to tell me it was normal for it to curd. All I drink is oat milk and it does not normally do that. Eventually I exchanged it for tea and they obliged but it was just way too much effort for a simple coffee stop. read more

This little cafe is in the court yard that is Neal's yard and is a great stop if you are in the area. It was decided that to stay lattes and americanos are the best we had in the entirety of London. The coffee was full of flavor and strong, which was a welcomed to start our morning! A note, we asked the first day for take away but they didn't serve it that way- so we stayed and drank them- this is when they were best. We did order a separate day take away- the lattes were being made to stay and we reminded her that we wanted take away, so the barista adjusted for our take away order, as we couldn't stay this time. However, much to our disappointment instead of adding the correct proportions she added double the milk, meaning the coffee really wasn't strong. Both of us ended up throwing them away half way through because it was pretty much all milk. I also have tried their toast- SO GOOD, the bread is fresh and perfectly toasted. I ordered the smashed avocado toast and the portion of avocado to bread is great and they also offer salmon and poached eggs if you want to add this to your order. I would say this is a great spot to get a quick breakfast and latte, but the take away is tricky and not worth it. If you are on the go, I would suggest you go somewhere else and come here when you have some time to stay. They have indoor and outdoor seating- the overall looks is classic and clean, which I appreciate! read more

The novelty of Neal's Yard beautiful and colorful perimeter to many can seem to be an instagramable experience. The truth however, is while it is a gorgeous place to take a selfie. Cafes like Jacob's Angel can often be over priced for the service provided. Most often you can't even find seating, unless you go when closing or opening. As a coffee enthusiast and adventure seeker however, if you are ok with an over priced, standard cup of joe, in an overly cramped seating area, over looking the beauty of Neal's Yard, I guess you can say you mostly pay for the experience. read more
