This was my first time trying the burger, and I was shocked. Shocked on the size, presentation, and taste. I wasn't disappointed in the fries. The fries are always a letdown wherever I go, but these fries are PERFECT! The establishment is very clean, inside and out. Service is fast and friendly. I had no idea the 1/2 patty was going to be so huge because here in Bakersfield patties claiming yo be that size come out skinny, and that's why I ordered two instead of one. I suggest just houng with the ¼. The burger had tomatoes that were soggy, onions that were crispy, lettuce that wasn't wilted, pickles had a good crunch, the meat was seasoned just right, bacon was cooked perfectly and the buns weren't smothered in sauce which makes this burger in my opinion one of the Best in Kern County. Soft serve ice cream on point. I couldn't decide between chocolate or vanilla so I had mixed and it was great. The only thing that was missing which I don't know if they carry them or not but some hot yellow peppers would've put this rating at a solid 11, so with that being said yes I rate this place a solid 10. read more

The service here was what stood out the most-- everyone was so friendly and helpful! There is seating-it's not beautiful but it works! We wanted to try a hometown burger joint rather than a chain so stopped in here. The cheeseburger was very good. Also the "small" fry included in the combo was plenty in my opinion. I was afraid of a small pack of four fries or something but that was not the case. My husband had the pastrami sandwich and he said it was very dry. Drink refills are 0.81 so keep that in mind. The manager Moe is very unprofessional, they have little kids working and doing the same work as the adult employees, I think that's child labor! I tried to have the cook Alex cook my food longer because it was not cooked all the way through and he refused, he was very rude aswell. I really wanted to love this place, but found it to be just alright.. I get out to Taft every once in a while for work and am always looking for a good burger.. Ordered Bacon Cheeseburger combo meal and side of taquitos. The taquitos rang up a higher price than was on the menu board which I brought to the ladies attention and she quickly changed the price to reflect the menu. I didnt care too much for the taquitos, call me old fashion but I like the cheap ol roled up mystery meat inside taquitos instead of the shredded type beef in these, no biggie just wont be ordering them again. The fries were great. The burger was fine, but the bacon had a weird smell to it. Can quite describe it, but everytime I would take a bite I would get that odd smell that I couldn't get past. I gave 3 stars because the employees were nice and we only tried the teriyaki burgers that are supposed to be so delicious. I wish there was something good to say about the teriyaki burgers, but ours were not good. There was barely any teriyaki sauce at all on them and the meat in the teriyaki sauce was cut up so small. It was dry. The hamburgers had all the toppings, such as tomato and onion, on one side, so there were none on the other side of the burger. Definitely not worth the hype. read more

Spoiler - this was an amazing burger!! We stopped here on a visit to the Carrizo Plain area. I used our trusty Yelp app to find food and noticed there was mostly fast food that came up. This place had some decent reviews, so we gave it a try. We saw the menu on the outside of the building, drove up, and ordered. The young woman waiting on us was very pleasant and polite. We ordered a 1/2 lb avocado burger so we could share it. She asked us to pull into the back parking lot and she let us know she would bring us the food when it was done. It took a while, but when it came out, it was definitely worth the wait. While waiting, I used the restroom. For a tiny older place, the restroom was relatively clean (always appreciated). Then the food came. OMGosh. It seemed like it was over 1/2 lb - the patty was huge! It was a smash-kind of burger. We got it with Provolone cheese and it was amazing. The fries were hot hot hot (very fresh) and had seasoned salt - nice touch! We've never been to Taft, CA before, and may not come often, but this will be a place to stop. I don't think I would want to eat inside - it is very small. But taking the food to a park would be the next best thing. This burger "traveled" nicely! read more

I got a cheeseburger special with fries and a small chocolate peanut butter milkshake that was under $11.00 The patty was homemade and had fresh ingredients. The food was hot and so delicious. After my dental appointment in Taft, I was starving and needed something to eat so I looked on yelp and found Jacob 's burgers The reviews were good so I figured I would give it a try. I normally always get a double cheeseburger wherever I go and most of the time it's filling but not enough. I decided to go with a double bacon cheeseburger here, and when it was delivered to my table, it looked amazing and gigantic! It had a smash bigger look to it, but we're really thick juicy patties that had a nice crust to them. I really struggled to eat this burger, but it was so good. If I were rating this place solely on their breakfast burritos, I'd give it 5 stars. They're awesome. And huge. And tasty. You're going to compare most every other breakfast burrito to it, forever. Aside from fried mushrooms or zucchini, that's about all I can eat there. Great Harris Ranch Burgers and they weren't perfectly round , so I think their were some hands making them. Great and tasty condiment, huge drinks and hot fries.. cost was nice too. I come here often.... the service is a hit or miss. Today was less than good. The entire time I was giving my order the girl was talking to her coworkers. It was rude. The sodas have become a hit or miss because they pick and choose whether they serve you crushed ice. It has been increasingly worse lately and it's sad because I do come here often, but probably won't now. So just be warned. Service is meh. Food is okay. Sodas are okay. First off it's an old run down gas station. You might think with that being the case they would try to have more than exceptional food. However, the burgers are dry and burnt. I would strongly suggest a different meat supplier, and cook while you're at it. Hospitality is below average at best.
