Its located in the southwest part of Bako and definitely has that Texas feel. We got the pork rib combo with coleslaw and bbq baked beans, and the chicken combo with potato salad and mac & cheese. Mom loved the ribs and beans, said the ribs and saw were delicious. The chicken was good and the mac and cheese had a spice on it. Not bad at all though, the potato salad was delicious also. Gotta come back and try the highly recommended brisket!

Food is way more expensive than it ever was. Paid over $100 for one meal, two beef ribs and two Pepsi. Definitely the priciest barbecue in town now and it doesn't taste as good as before. The beef was very tough and stuck to our teeth. Service is good not great as usual. I prefer not to eat in if I can help it because it's very dusty and noisy.

Combo with tri-tip and brisket with spicy mac and cheese.

For the high price of $58.40, you too can have what we got! What we got: Pulled pork - Trash Tri-tip - Trash Brisket - Dry trash Mac and cheese - Yellow flavorless over cooked noodles, which they had the audacity to call "spicy mac and cheese" Potato salad was interesting but not my taste. BBQ sauce was pretty good but they needed to cover everything in it prior to serving you for the food to be edible. Hot links - very good flavor and spice level. The only thing I would get again but definitely not planning on coming back. I'm sure we've had worse food, but honestly neither of us could remember when... There's better BBQ places in town with way better proportions that match the price. 2 slices of meat for each choice? I think not. Don't waste your time folks.

Food is SO good!! Definitely a must try. Junior and his staff are really attentive & welcoming. I visited their new location on New Stine Rd. in the Cataldo's Pizzeria & it's very clean & the food was delicious. Tri-Tip sandwich with their crispy fries & some Mac & cheese.. YUM! It was a cold day so that warm food hit the spot!

This place is not horrible, but it's also not the best sandwich spot in Bakersfield. I want to like this place because the staff has always been so nice, but I just don't go for the sandwiches. The sandwich shop is located in a nice centralized location in Bakersfield. They have a good variety on their menu. My favorite on their menu has to be the chicken poblano soup. If you plan to dine in there's plenty of room for a big party or for just one. It's nice in clean inside. Parking is never an issue because they have a huge parking where they share with all the neighboring establishments. I don't see myself coming back and going out of my way to eat here unless I was meeting up w friends or family that wanted to come here. I'm not big on sandwiches, so it might just be me, so I highly recommend you check it out for yourself.

All of the pastries looked delicious as there were many to choose from. We decided to go with a guava pastry and another that the lady behind the counter said the inside was a brownie, so we decided to go with that. Guava pastry was delicious, although when we got to the "brownie" pastry there was no brownie. The lady did mention she was new, although the pastry we ended up with was mainly peanut butter, big difference. I know what it's like to be new, but it's always best to ask for help when in doubt. I did ask if there was a pricing menu for all of the pastries, I prefer to have a heads up of pricing before ordering and the lady said they didn't have one. Guava pastry was delicious, it would be nice to know what the pricing is since there is a lot to choose from.

I hope someone reads this…read more I honestly never thought I would be writing a review like this. I have been coming to Sequoia Sandwich Company for many years, and as an elderly customer who has supported this business for a long time, it really hurts to say that I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and frankly disgusted. What upset me the most was watching employees handle food without gloves, including handing food to dine-in customers, while also working the register and doing other tasks. Seeing someone handle money, touch the register and other surfaces, and then go right back to handling food without gloves was extremely upsetting to me. I understand that employees have many responsibilities, but as a customer, I should not have to sit there wondering whether the food being handed to me has been handled in a clean and sanitary manner. I came in expecting to enjoy a meal from a place I have trusted for years, and instead I found myself feeling uneasy about eating it. Maybe some people will say I'm being overly concerned, but when you've been a customer for many years, you notice when things don't feel right. Basic cleanliness and proper food handling should never be something customers have to worry about. It genuinely saddens me because I have supported this business for so long. I don't want to see a place I've enjoyed for years lose sight of something as important as cleanliness and customer confidence. I sincerely hope the owners and management read this and take it seriously. Please pay closer attention to how employees handle food, especially when they are also handling money and touching other surfaces. Your longtime customers deserve better, and I deserve to feel comfortable eating the food I am paying for. I left feeling more than disappointed, I left feeling let down by a business I had trusted for years.

Of course, I had to try their famous tri-tip sandwich and added a side of fries. The sandwich was loaded with tri-tip, tender, flavorful, and paired perfectly with their BBQ sauce. The fries were a great addition and made the meal even more filling. I also ordered the Southwestern salad with chicken, and when I opened the container, I was honestly impressed by how much food they packed in there. It was huge, fresh, and loaded with chicken, avocado, black beans, corn, peppers, and plenty of toppings. Definitely not one of those salads that leaves you hungry afterward! I also have to give Firestone Grill credit for the sauces. They gave me two large containers of BBQ sauce AND two generous containers of dressing. As someone who hates when restaurants give you one tiny sauce for an entire meal, I appreciated that more than I probably should. No sauce rationing over here! I did takeout this time, but they offer self-seating and have a full bar, so next time I definitely want to dine in, grab a drink, and enjoy the full experience

Okay! why does free lunch hit different every single time?!…read moreI attended a professional development training and they surprised us with these lunch boxes! Yay! Tell me why I was immediately in love. The moment I opened it, I was greeted with a thick, generously stacked turkey sandwich that looked like it meant business. We're talking layers on layers of tender, juicy turkey, piled high with that crisp, freshly shredded lettuce that gives the perfect crunch in every bite. Even writing about it makes my mouth water all over again! The bread? Soft, fresh, and just the right amount of pillowy to hold it all together without falling apart. As if the sandwich wasn't already the star of the show, the box came fully loaded with a chocolate chip cookie,, a bag of chips for that salty crunch moment, and a little sampler of macaroni salad that was slathered in Italian dressing. So tasty! Honestly? Mouthwatering from start to finish. Whoever put these boxes together understood the assignment! (Haha) This is definitely a must try when hungry!

Since finding out about this location, we have visited this place a few times now. I really love the old school feel to this sandwich spot. You can either dine in or order your sandwich to go. Caesar's is hit and miss for me. Once in a great while it's one of the best sandwiches I've had and sometimes it's just okay. One thing I do know for sure is that I keep coming back because they have "that" clam chowder. My only complaint is that they are pricey and you can get a superior sandwich from other places. Parking is a little bit crazy during lunch time. Staff is always super nice here and the lines go pretty quick. I don't know if they have more than the 2 locations I know of. This location is not as fancy as the one on Brimhall, but their sandwiches are just as good.
